My Anime Music is over twice the size of all the rest of my music...
I do listen to all kinds of music, but recently I've been listening to a lot of Boom Boom Satellites Exposed - pretty much on repeat while playing CoD4. :)

I used to be addicted to Japanese music some time ago. Now I mostly (meaning - 95%) listen to English music. I prefer lyrics which I can understand. Also, I am quite picky when it comes to music and I am sorry to say that Japanese don't really know how to make good stuff (with exeption of few artists). But that is just me.

A combination of both of them. I don't really have a fav, although I don't like it when for example Japanese people sing a song from an English artist ( I think it is called cover or something) Like Kiss from a Rose, the English version is good, but the Japanese version is just bleh, and sounds a bit fake.

Hm...I'd say....I have more Japanese music in my library than English, so Japanese?

Bonus Points
More songs English dubbed, that are Japanese. I love my random Japanese musics, but I want to understand it...

Japanese, I heardly listen it but the vast bulk of music which has vocals that I listen is J-pop.

The rest is just random noises sounding like a desolate train station or some-thing.. ehh, I mean carefully architected dark ambient showing my developed taste in music.

Japanese Music is indeed very unique, even their pop genre songs are cool!

But I'm for Jazz, Acoustic, Acapella and Hip-hop.

So English in some sense.

Usually English.
Especially with female singers, I dislike how annoyingly high and squeaky Japanese female singers sound for the most part.

Both Japanese and English music are great in many different ways! If you don't understand Japanese, it's nice to listen to their music so you can focus more on the vocals and the beat. This goes for music of other languages too.

I totally agree with this. I don't really know much Japanese yet, so I pick songs that have good beats and good vocals. But that pertains to all of my music, no matter what language. I usually understand some of the song depending on what it is. I am really wanting to learn more , but I don't have time to take a class this semester. Maybe next. But to answer the question, I have most of my music in English. But I do have some songs in Japanese.

Japanese. Well, I do listen to English music, but I tend to prefer music which aren't close to me. I mean by that that I do not listen only to Japanese music, but also: Chinese, Bulgarian, Arabian, Korean, Thailandese, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, and much more. The only language I do not listen to very much is French, since this is my mother tongue, and I tend to prefer songs that are far from my country! ^^

Depends on if I'm addicted to an anime at the moment. For example, I just finished watching the Lucky Star OVA awhile ago, thus I'm currently only listening to anime music and probably will be for another week or two, but before that I hadn't watched any animes for about a month and during that time the only thing I listened to was English music.

I mostly prefer English music, since I can memorize the lyrics. [a hobby of mine xD].

Although I do enjoy listening to Japanese music, since some of the songs give me goosebumps. [example: Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Theme song]

But I Do Love Both. <33

American rap doesn't make much sence to me- these days it's all about one night stands, hotel rooms, and girls. I'm not intrested in that stuff.

Truth be told, I just like music. I don't pay all that much attention to lyrics in languages I do understand, so it doesn't bother me not to be able to follow them. I guess if I had to choose though, I'd probably be leaning towards Japanese. I'm stuck on the soundtrack from Macross Frontier at present, and minus a little Chopin, that and a few other songs from anime soundtracks are all I've been listening to. But I could just as easily be stuck on one of my Western favorites instead. (Mostly rock, blues and orchestral/classical stuff)

exactly, music can be exactly the same in either language so it shouldn't make a difference. even if i don't understand the language, the music can be just as good so i won't say i like one better. however, i will say that i tend to favor the vocals of most western musicians just because the sound of some japanese singers is just a bit weird to me

Same for me. The only Japanese songs I have are from animes.
But I also find it awesome to sing along in Japanese. ^__^~
