@Matt666: Fixed, thanks.

@nextday: Yes, should be very soon. A few weeks at the most, hopefully within a week.

Fair enough, google cache is good enough. Without it though, it was basically a rumour.

Fixed the other stuff, thanks as always.

@arsonal: I don't see why not, fixed.

@tsubasalover: Yes, thanks for the heads up :) I'm sure they'll clarify things very soon.

@cat_clan: So which is it? We go by earliest release, so maybe it should be 3 movies? Were these actual movie movies or just VHS releases? Anybody know? Maybe it's just fine the way it is, at least there are no obvious duplicates (or something).

@cat_clan: Only around a 6 week break, I think we'll just re-open the old entry, assuming the episode numbers continue on and the title doesn't change.

Since it's officially added with the official site, I think it's safe to have end date for Metal Fight Beyblade 4D as April 1, 2012 with 52 episodes. Also, since the image shows no one from Metal Fight Beyblade prequels, I don't think listing 4D as prequel is necessary.

As far as I can tell in Japan it was released as a single 78min. Anime movie back in March 1988. I confirmed it with the ANIME BIBLE 2002 book and is consistent with the pages I posted earlier. It seems the 3 part OVA was exclusively released in Russia.

The Russian Wikipedia seems to help in this. It says Lolo was first shown on television in 3 parts beginning 1 January 1986 (no record of end date). It was then released as an OVA in Japan on 27 March 1988.

Galaxy Angel

2 of the 26 episodes in this were unaired in the original broadcast.

Episode 21 was supposed to be aired, but it was canceled due to the use of gas content within the episode, with respect to the Kabuki-cho Fire Incident. This is similar to that of Onii-chan no Koto nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne!! and the tsunami episode.

Episode 26 is just unaired and should be treated as a special, like the Galaxy Angel Z Special.

In conclusion, Galaxy Angel should be 25 episodes, and a Galaxy Angel Special: Sukiyaki Bentou Goninmae (15 minutes) should be added.

I will be posting about Galaxy Angel 4 later, around April 7th or so.

Digimon Xros Wars: Toki wo Kakeru Shounen Huntertachi will end at episode 25, airing on March 25. Saint Seiya Omega debuts in its time slot the following week.

There is also a mistake in the theme songs of Digimon Xros Wars. Only the first OP needs to be listed as the entry is for the first 30 episodes. The entry for the next 24 episodes already has the correct OP. The ED should not be there as this series has no ED. "WE ARE Xros Heart!" is an insert song.

Ozuma's English licensed title by Viki and Crunchyroll is "Ozma".

Now that ME3 is over...

@nextday: Merging producers is not possible, which is sort of why I haven't gotten around to merging them. I'm also not sure if we want to do that, i.e. was it just a name change and not something else? They should probably be merged regardless. I'll do it some rainy day, if somebody doesn't do it for me, somehow.

@bxyhxyh: The second one was added a few days ago, the first is what exactly? I believe it's simply a cut-scene included in a game and not an OVA with a game? Does anybody know anything more?

@cat_clan & arsonal: I think we're going to go with Russian wikipedia then, since that seems to be the first release. So no more changes, I guess.

@ap19: The official site seems to think it's 24 episodes and AniDB says this episode 21 is actually number 20.5, so maybe it should be 24 eps + 2 specials? Of course Japanese wiki says it's 26. Do the episodes themselves contain episode numbers, if you know?

@arsonal: Could you repeat that part about the OP/EDs in Digimon? :) I removed the ED, so I think it's fixed now.

@Yanoflies: Fixed, I hope.

@belatkuro: Could you add it then, please? Presumably you can write a short synopsis <3

@cat_clan: Thermae Romae will be the end of me. Never going to be happy about the episode count either...
We'll figure it out in April.

The actual content does not show episode numbers, just the episode titles. This includes episode 21 and 26.

The official site lists the entire series as 26 episodes, with additional notes saying episode 21 is unaired(TV未放映話), episode 25 is the aired last episode(TV放映/最終話), and episode 26 is the unaired last episode(TV未放映/最終話).

Episode 21 was unintentionally unaired (due to the Kabuki-cho Fire Incident as explained earlier), while episode 26 was intentionally unaired. Episode 21 is a part of the main series, while episode 26 is an intentionally unaired special episode that only comes with the DVD/BD series.

To back that up, there's the fact that nicovideo's Galaxy Angel Marathon, coming up in two weeks, is airing "all 25 episodes", excluding only episode 26.

If you consider all originally unaired episodes, regardless of intention, then it can be 24 episodes and 2 specials. If you want to go by the official site, then it should be 25 episodes and 1 special.

Considering episode 10 from Onii-chan, which doesn't have its own entry, I would recommend 25 episodes and 1 special. (Yes, I know tvk had the guts to air it despite all of the criticism aroused by the tsunami, and cancellations from every other channel/site. However, it should have been unaired, given that the staff made it in time to every other channel/site saying they wanted the episode unaired.)

I have no idea where AniDB got the number 20.5 from. There are some unofficial sources that position the unaired last episode as episode 23 instead of episode 26, but that probably has nothing to do with it. It's not like this anime has a strict chronological backbone, nor does episode 21 occur alongisde episode 20 or anything like that. Supposedly, 20.5 is just a forced numerical positioning to keep the series 24 episodes, but that does not coincide with official information.

Also, about Sakasama no Patema and its ONA that you either rejected or kept in queue earlier. Episode 2 is coming out March 25th. I think it's safe to make an entry for it now. It's still difficult to tell whether the content will be the same as the movie or not. The ONA series is still described as "a single day, the prologue of the main movie," in a way that does not clearly state whether the prologue is before or within the main movie. However, it's definitely not an ordinary advertisement anymore.

The title should be "Sakasama no Patema: Beginning of the Day", because episode 2 is also being released under that title.

I think you folks are misunderstanding what genre means. It's not a listing of every single plot element there is in the story. You're looking for its driving themes, which would exclude Vampires. Compare it to something like Dance in the Vampire Bund. Honestly speaking, I try to steer away from meddling in genres too much. Genre wars in Wikipedia have caused a lot of grief and personal attacks among editors at WikiProject Anime and manga.

I don't usually pay much attention to the genres, but alright.

Something like this then for Nisemonogatari: Comedy, Supernatural, Ecchi, Harem, Seinen

Seinen should be added to Bakemonogatari too.

To be honest I wouldn't say monogatari is seinen. the Light novels are indeed ecchi & Harem but I'm not sure to what extent that applies in the anime.

It still needs "Impostory" as an alternate title for sure though.

From the Japanese side of thinking.

Seinen does not necessarily mean ecchi and harem. The avant-garde conception of ideas is already enough to classify this as a seinen anime. The fictional settings are most certainly not as straightforward as something like Index or Railgun, and the relatively fast wordplay (most of which is probably lost in translation) is not something readily made for shounen at least. (I'm not saying Bake and Nise aren't ecchi or harem though.)

However, this sort of thought resides on classifying every entry into shounen, seinen, shoujo, or josei anime. Just breezing through the animes listed as seinen on MAL, I would disagree with many of them. (For instance, A-Channel, because all mangas from Manga Time Kirara are for families and kids.)

Therefore, if you were to put an age-gender-related genre to Bake/Nise, it would be seinen, but it doesn't necessarily have to be done given how most of MAL is not so focused on such genres.

I think Shin Hikari Shinwa Palutena no Kagami should be split in three different entries.

Entry 1: Shin Hikari Shinwa Palutena no Kagami: Soratobu Mokuba with 3 episodes.
Entry 2: Shin Hikari Shinwa Palutena no Kagami: Medusa no Gyakushuu with 1 episode.
Entry 3: Shin Hikari Shinwa Palutena no Kagami: Oikakete with 2 episodes.

Because each has a different studio behind, different staff, different releases dates and different story. All they share in common is that all of them are related to the Shin Hikari Shinwa Palutena no Kagami game.

From the looks of it, this is a one time special to promote the movie releases. So I do think the TV series should be reclassified to OVA. Since they are going to be mostly released on OVA format before this Anime even hits the TV again (not considering video on demand services).

Also the site states that the series is going to be 26 episodes total.

So I think the OVAs are going to be combined in the following way: Movie 1 (Ep 1-2), Movie 2 (Ep 3-6), Movie 3-7 (4 ep each). Also the releases dates for the OVA is going to match with each movie, because they are going to sell them on-site.

@nextday: Ok, will merge TMS at some point. No promises on time.

I added the (2011) to differentiate from the old series, since the animation and the themes etc. are most likely going to follow the 2011 version. I'm sure the movie will get a proper title at some point though, so I guess this is a moot point.

As for Rakuen Tsuihou: Expelled From Paradise, I'm 95% sure it's a misspelling on the website. It wouldn't be the first time and it isn't the last. Until I see this on actual promotional material and not just as a <title> on a website, I'll assume it's supposed to be paradise.

@ap19: I was referring to the madhouse website, http://www.madhouse.co.jp/works/2001-2000/works_tv_galaxyange.html but the Broccoli website is way more detailed, so we'll go with that. Fixed and approved the special. Thanks for the research <3

I added the Sakasama special entry, could you give me a synopsis and perhaps a proper relation?

@DrRatekkusu, nextday, arsonal & ap19: Regarding genres, what you're describing is themes. Vampires is not the genre for nise or bake, it's a theme. It's not a harem show either, it may be a minor theme but it's not the genre. I eventually settled on "Comedy, Mystery, Ecchi, Supernatural", i.e. added mystery and ecchi. It's not seinen because light novels don't really have a demographic like manga do. Basically, if the manga has a demographic, we put that in genres. It's stupid, I know, but we do it anyway. Genres, themes and demographics should be way more separate and have values but...

@tsubasalover: I don't really agree with the first season having Do in the name but for consistency's sake and producer intent (most likely) I added it.

@cat_clan & RyokoAyekaLover: Thanks a lot for the confirmation, haha.

@Juumonji: Thanks for that, people have been getting the OVA and the specials mixed up all week. Apparently this includes us moderators too.

@ezikialrage: what cat_clan said.

@tsubasalover: Merged, thanks for the heads up. inb4 it turns out there are two onsen episodes :D

@cat_clan: I was trying to follow the Animatrix and Halo Legends precedents, can't really think of a reason why this is different? I guess it would boil down to release method; They're all being released on the Nintendo network, right? I'm presuming they'll all get released on the same DVD/BD too, eventually?

@cat_clan: Changed Yamato to OVA and changed the episode count. Fucking series...

@ap19: Could you please submit all 3 then, your reasoning sounds good enough to me but I don't know anything about the series so...

Otherwise done, hopefully.

I added the Sakasama special entry, could you give me a synopsis and perhaps a proper relation?

It slipped my mind that the synopsis needed mod approval. I submitted one just for now, but I think I'll write more tomorrow, once episode 2 comes out. I think the relation to the movie and intent of doing this will become more clear. The current submission is just a direct translation from the official webpage.

EDIT: I just watched episode 2, I don't think I can add anything yet, but there will be an episode 3 coming.

EDIT2: I found an official synopsis, so I'll be translating that for a new submission.

About Eagle Talon/Himitsukessha Taka no Tsume, I'm wondering why just the first anime is listed in English while all others are in Japanese. I submitted the new ones in Japanese.

I worked off the Eagle Talon synopsis for a part of the new series, and found out there was a typo. I think you'll find the same mistake on the NEO submission.
"baesd"→"based"

Also, I recently got into Eagle Talon, but I believe most of their trailers and such consist of original footage. The thing is, Eagle Talon has done many collaborations with other non-anime companies, and therefore all such commercials and projects are all original footage. Should I go make an entry for whatever I can find?

"Animated commercials produced for the Japanese market will be allowed only if they are of decent length and have substantial plot." Going by this, most of these are probably eligible for being registered on MAL, given that Eagle Talon itself is a load of short comedic dialogue.

If there are any specifications you would like to add, please let me know. There are 213 videos on the DLE youtube channel, and probably about 150 or so of them are Eagle Talon related. A lot of these videos can be sorted into series based on a common product, company, or theme (ie Suntory, NEC, acerola, "Work! Yoshida-kun!", etc.). Note also, these are not listed on wikipedia.

Some of the non-Eagle Talon videos may also be eligible for being registered on MAL as well.

Here are a few youtube links for reference, if you want to judge the content eligibility (all Japanese except for the first subbed one, and all from the official channel).

From the main series, already on MAL.
Eagle Talon ep 1 Eng subbed (9:57)
Mukashi no Yoshida-kun ep 1 (3:01)

And a few of the many ones up for consideration.
Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 CM (0:30)
Taka no Tsume x BALLAD, Unauthorized Advertisement Movie (6:14)
Suntory Becomes Our Sponsor for the TV Asahi Broadcast (1:11) (and then there are several other CMs with Suntory)
Black Oolong Tea x Taka no Tsume Dan (1:30) (CM with Suntory) (1 of a lot)
Taka no Tsume Dan no Acerola Spring Theatre (0:30) (1 of 6 I think)
Work! Yoshida-kun! (3:50) (1 of 6 I think)
JR West x Taka no Tsume Dan Sawayaka Train Mannerism Introduction (2:01) (Intro to a series of 6 I think)
JR West x Taka no Tsume Dan Sawayaka Train Mannerism (0:38) (1 of 6 I think)
Koryouriya Hokkaido (2:01) (1 of 4) (non-Eagle Talon)

Yeah, there are about 200 of these, probably split into about 40 or so entries. Going along with the Working Announcement Specials (about 2.5 min each) and the Toyama Kankou Anime Project by PAWorks (about 5 min each), I think a good load of these would be eligible for being registered on MAL, and I don't think length restrictions will do justice to ones like the Train Mannerism project or the Acerola series.

EDIT: I just watched Superflat Monogram/Superflat First Love, and yes these are in no way similar or special in that sense, but in terms of DLE quality, I find them no different from your ordinary Eagle Talon episodes, in that they're the ordinary Eagle Talon comedy created by varying content. Perhaps length should be measured by the whole of a commercial series? Even if the short ones were not allowed, some of them do have decent length as well, and not all of them are exactly commercials either.

EDIT2: Cat_clan is probably right about the finish date for Mukashi no Yoshida-kun. There is a little something that bothers me about that though, but since I don't have any concrete proof, I'll let it slide. Sorry for the mistake, and thanks for the correction.

@ap19: How many entries are we talking about here? Dozens? Over 50? I'm rather inclined to just throw all of them into a single Eagle Talon CM entry but I need to think about it and ask others. Most of these seem rather thin and insignificant, at best.

No clue on the first season's title, what should it be called, ideally?

There's nothing wrong with Eagle Talon as the English title, seeing how the source is crunchyroll. However, given that all other entries are listed with Japanese romaji titles, I would suppose it would be ideal to change the primary entry name to Himitsukessha Taka no Tsume and remove the synonym.

Another thing, about the synonym "The Frogman Show". This does not refer to Eagle Talon by itself, but to a broadcast time on TV Asahi, similar to Noitamina on Fuji TV. There were two "The Frogman Show" times, the first one for Eagle Talon and another separate anime called Kofun Gal no Coffy (which should be added as a new entry), and the second one for Eagle Talon 2 and Kofun Gal no Coffy Campus Life (which should also be added as a new entry). Seeing how all Noitamina animes (like Guilty Crown etc.) don't have the synonym "Noitamina", "The Frogman Show" should be removed as a synonym from Eagle Talon and Eagle Talon 2.

I'll be submitting Kofun Gal no Coffy, Kofun Gal no Coffy Campus Life, and Kofun Gal no Coffy (ONA) once I get the time to watch even just the ONA.

I will need some time to go through every video and see what the best organization method is. If there aren't any specific restrictions I should worry about, I can list the entries here or submit them, and leave them up for the moderators to discuss.

Not all of these are CMs, not all of these are Eagle Talon-related even, and there are some ongoing series as well. They all vary in length and content, and some I would think don't deserve an entry. I wouldn't recommend bunching them all into one entry.

What is certain is, they're all by Frogman (which I guess you would consider a professional animator), and they're all backed up by some kind of anime or commercial company. Some of them have been broadcasted on TV, some on the net, some on the Yamanote train line on-board monitors even. They're not simple youtube videos.

I'll try to have this done before I post about Galaxy Angel 4 on April 7th.

1.

The raw that I watched. The end said April 4, 2012. Judging from the schedule, that ver. was probably TVQ九州放送...
If that's the case, please change back to April 1, 2012. Sorry about that!

Upotte!! needs to be changed to ONA. It will be airing on Nico Nico Douga.

The Upotte airing on Nico Nico Douga is technically a 先行配信, or pre-airing, as stated on all official sources. Hence, it will only air on Nicolive (live broadcast) without timeshifts, and not on Nicovideo (meaning no saved video available afterwards). There's no concrete information about the "main" airing, but I would assume it's supposed to be a TV series.

"Nico Nico Douga" may refer to the entire site, but it may also refer to just the video service as well. Inefficient, so I differentiate by using Nicolive and Nicovideo.

I just hope these so-called pre-airings don't end up imitating the Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou pre-airings.

Yesterday on IRC someone said that he watched/streamed a one hour premiere of this that is only available to the first 1000 people online. He had plenty of LQ screenshots and it seems to be the real episode. The art looks the same as Horizon(Sunrise I know). It was 47 minutes long. I dont have the link though...

Accel World

Episode 1 and 2 were pre-aired on Bch March 26th 0:00 Tokyo Time.
http://www.b-ch.com/contents/feat_accel-world/

They will also be available to a random 1000 people who have watched the PV on PlayStation Network from March 28th to April 3rd, as well as to the first 1000 on Warner On Demand and the first 2000 on Nicolive April 1st.

Since all pre-airings consisting of the actual full episode have set the entry to "currently airing", this should as well.

Going along with that, just clarifying, Upotte should stay a TV series and be set to currently airing when the pre-airings begin on April 1st, but if Upotte pulls off another Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou pre-airing deal (meaning incomplete episode excerpts), then the entry should stay "not yet aired".

This was settled a while back, I know, but I still don't really like how the OP and EDs of the Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou pre-airings (which were not used in the main airings) were neglected. I just hope the same thing doesn't happen to Upotte.

About the submission for Cofun Gal no Coffy (ONA), please remove the airing dates. The current ones are for the TV series, and all I know about the ONA series is the year 2005.

Dang, I also screwed up on the Cofun Gal no Coffy ~Juuninin no Ikareru Cofuntachi~ synonym too. The current synonym should be replaced with Cofun Gal no Coffy Movie 2. Sorry, I guess I shouldn't do this all at once.

Their Official Nico Nico Channel just confirmed what ap19 is saying about this broadcast being a pre-airing (先行放送) and that this as a TV Anime (TVアニメ). Also this episode(s?) is going to be shown at several stores in Japan according to the official site. I think, based on this last announcement, that this Anime is going to air on the next season. Mostly because some of the previews on stores will run as late as June.
