I can say that I didn't see it coming, as I haven't watched Code Geass. Hare was a good character but I believe this was a necessary turn of events for Shu to change his ways.

As for Shu's emotions in the end and beating the crap out of Souta, that much I expected. It reminded me a lot more of the ending to Kami-sama no Memo-chou when

Now just to see where it develops from here.

This was by far one of the best episodes of the series, apart from Hare dying of course but because that happened, I believe Shu's personality will significantly change. I dont believe that he's going to become another 'Lelouch' because from the start Shu was a good person, and once he finally accepts Hare's death, I'm sure he will become an awesome leader. So I dont think he will die in the end like Lelouch, also how the hell is this another Code Geass?! They're completely different!

Im looking forward to seeing how his powers will grow and more character development, but I think Inori or something/someone else will get him back from being a 'ruthless' king.

And one more thing, has anyone else besides me thought about what Shu's void would be and if it will come out before the end of the series?

Miracle Reviver. Revives all people that died in Shu's presence by re-materializing them. It would make me very happy to say the least.

I could see how that would work but I dont think it would be something simple as that, I was actually hoping for an awesome sword or something but that probably wont happen either lol

WOW! I was not expecting any of that! Hare is really gone! And she was always such a supportive character for Shu! Poor Inori, she looked like she was being violated by Shu when he pulled out her void. Wonder how the rest of this will end up. Really good episode though!

Was Inori knocked out? Because I thought that Shu was able to extract voids without having the person lose consciousness... Moving episode btw first time I have cried in a while, silent deaths seem to have more of an emotional impact for me... Ohh well no more Hare x Shu could either be Shu x Inori or Shu x Ayase

Hare dead =( Not that I didn't see it coming, but still very sad. Shu got a Heroic BSOD over it, maybe even past the Despair Event Horizon. I think, quite a few episodes will now be with BSOD!-Shu, him getting things in school in order and then taking the battle to the enemy. ofc, in the end, Inori will get him out of this.

On a side note, I think Code Geass was mentioned more often in the thread than in the entire CG forum... I'm gonna turn Shu on everyone who says it again... I mean, it's not like I didn't hear it the past 5 million times you mentioned it...
I want Rambo in a mecha-suit with a laser-chainsaw gun that fires nuclear warheads, fighting the love-child of Predator, Alien, a group of Bangladeshi terrorists, and Satan. (Actually that would be a pretty sick show) - StopDropAndBowl

Fuck why did they kill off Hare FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. I mean Gai dying was good i loved it since he was a douche bag anyway.
This episode made me both sad and angry but i hate to say it its one of the best episodes behind ep 4.

Awesome episode, haters can hate but as far as improvement it was the best i think they could have fit into one episode and along with episode 4 was one of the best episodes of the series.

I hope I'm reading to much into this, but i hope they don't pull some crap like Gai coming back, when his second in command or who ever the guy with the glasses was playing chess said if he wins he will get to see "him", hopefully its some new guy or someone other than Gai, this show is most likely the most criticized show I've ever seen, they pull something like that and there will be no end to the fire.

I wonder is it a bad thing that my favorite part of the episode was Shu beating the crap out of that loser? That along with Shu ripping out Inori's void then destroying all the Endlaves, even stabbing a already broken one (since i think the pilots nerves or senses are connected right? so they can feel the pain?)

Why? because he beat the crap out of a loser who's stupid pride got someone killed? because he implemented a system which causes needed organization at the price of what... feelings? Life ain't always sunshine and happy days, the fact that he realized that nice guys finish last in the apocalyptic scenario the better.

Also by defintion of "badass" haven't you ever seen a sadistic "badass"? you know the slasher smile characters; wouldn't those still be considered badass? you don't have to be morally sound to be "badass"

Is his system gonna make him look like an "asshole" ya, its a simple plot device, which after a while will most likely make him see his wrongs or something like that, but even though it was predictable by the episode title alone, it was still effective in my opinion.

Well next episode is called "Tyrant" so him being cruel and having asshole tendencies is to be expected, but i still think its an improved change, because while he will never even begin to touch Lelouch's character, Lelouch was a asshole at times and still (MAL alone shows this) one of the most popular characters ever, so i think the development in his character won't totally recoil from the expected "tyrant" behavior.

First off going to say I didn't expect it.. completely.. I mean she did raise quiet a few flags but being as loved as she was didnt see it (or at least didnt want it to happen).

This anime is by far one of my favs ATM, I can only stress that 22 eps is not enough!

I am a bit worried however, As bad ass as Evil/Besreker Shu is i don't really want him to be a complete asshole of a king - to toy with peoples lives and simple not give a shit about them ( I don't see this happening but still scares me!)

I'll be honest the first umm 12 eps were rather slow, i still loved it non the less but i did feel like it was missing some good action/drama (In my opinion).. whats been happening lately and epically now.. leaves me speechless, I don't think i can wait 1 week!

Actually my original post said a lot more than the snippet that was quoted. My comments was based on his treatment of Inori when he wanted her void, plus his statements after smacking Shouta around.

Also, his actions aren't really grounded at all. His actions are merely a weak little boy who can't cope with the loss of a dear friend and is snapping on anyone who gets in his way.

To me, badass do things in a manly way that people can get behind. I REALLY don't see the rest of the group going "you go Shu!" it's more like "WTF, he's gone psycho!"

Oh the irony. Hare loved him and saved him because he was the "kind king", and here he goes "kindness is pointless" after she dies.
Shu acted simply cruel. He surely isn't charismatic now, so he's still no badass leader like Gai. But it's episode 15 out of 22, he'll surely get more developments.

Shu's scream after Hare died was just so lame and weak that it ruined the atmosphere after her death really bad

and although I didn't really have anything against this show in the beginning now it's completely different. The more episodes I watch, the harder I can keep watching this, though this wont drop to less than a 6 on my rating scale, but it seems it may not even be worth of a 4....

Shu's sudden dramatic character development seemed way too rushed and awkward. Would be more natural if his maturation was more gradual over a period of time, but it was like pussy to heartless hitler in one minute.
Haru dying was a tear jerker though and then you knew shit was going to hit the fan all because can opener boy needed some validation for his small pe n is.

another sloppy episode - what little enjoyment i had from this steadily goes down with every episode - not that it was horrible, just sort of...messy - also, killing of one of the few interesting characters (hare) was a bad idea - sort of felt like they were going for the whole tear-jerking thing and then the ending was just silly......

yup because this anime has no fluidity
dramatic character development through one traumatizing event is so over used
it is a better episode but it's not saying much and certainly doesn't repair the dismal past episodes :|
especially that whole gai death/ mana thing

Do you really think Gai is dead though? I mean what was the deal with the chess between Segai and Shibungi? Shibungi said something along the lines of. "If I win I get to see him." So the only two people I can think he is talking about is Keido, Kenji, or Gai. So maybe Gai is alive somehow and just puts Shu in his place. xD

This fucking sucks. Shu fucking sucks, plot device deaths suck. It's all Shu's fault, not Souta's. It's his fault for being naive idiot and pussy. if he didn't pulled voids out of them nothing would have happened but why, Shu is such type who always try to please everyone to not get hated and now he's using an excuse like "oh my friend died and I have all right to be complete douchebag hitler wannabe and abuse the shit out of others"
I hated this episode more than ep 12, Hare's death was total rip off and Shu's "development" was the clichest thing ever that happens over 9000 times in other animes, main guy goes all nuts and becomes total a$$hole after some chick's death.

Wow.. just.. wow. Perhaps it's just me because I'm not an individual you're likely to meet, but when will animes stop using the.. I dunno.. actually fucking show some emotion? I didn't feel anything. Honestly, my whole expression during the episode didn't change at all.
Personally, I already had a feeling when she confessed, because anime these days loooove making a confession and then killing the character. "Here, feel my soft boobs." -Hare to Shu
And of course, the impulsive bastards who realllllly should stfu. I mean, you're ranked lowest which means you're useless, WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU TRYING TO PROVE THAT.

-10000000/5 for the episode. Relentless, unreasonable, pointless, and unneeded death. Why the fuck do I have to see the confession > impulsive idiots with inferiority complex > death of someone that means something.

But you know I feel kinda mean.. I was munching popcorn while watching hare bleed and then disintegrate to death.

Nice episode I loved it cause Shu became epic there at the end. I lold when he raped pushed down Inori and took out her void by force LIKE A BOSS. xD

I was sad when Hare died, but Shu's reaction and the way he tried to scream or maybe he was choking or some shit I started laughing that really killed the mood imo. A regular scream would have made the scene more emotional.

Anyways 5/5 from me. Glad I decided to get caught up this morning.

haha that is so crazy. Hare loves him as a kind king and after her death, he totally snaps and behaves the opposite way. I am really wondering what things will be like at the school next episode and how our evil king will behave. xD

ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?! HARE DIED?! OMFG, NO JUST FUCKING NO! Seriously though, Hare was one of my favourite GC characters and seeing her die was so sad, especially her dying moments telling about a book she read, DAMMIT! Tears actually ran down my eyes during that bit. :S

Anyhow, Shu changed drastically after Hare died, holy shit that was awesome, despite it being very cliche. His eyes were so deadly and seeing him force Inori down and ripped the sword out of her chest was so fucking badass. Killing the Endlaves as if they were just grunts, overpowered King Shu. :D

Best episode so far imo. Damn, going to miss Hare. Looking forward to more badass Shu. If GC keeps this up, I'm sure it can redeem itself.

2.And why inori always unconscious when shu take her void ?

for q:1 I'm not sure either

but for q:2 I think it has something to do with Inori's connection to Mana. still unsure though.

Having cooled down a little, no I did not. I was thinking of Deus magically everyone get healed as much as it sounds cliche I wanted Hare to be by Shu's side. I did not want to believe because of my attachment to Hare. How hard it hit is still in me after the episode. It will take some hours to get over it. I liked a lot of Hare.
