I haven't even got around the light novels yet. The author was so young as well.

Considering how MM! is mainly about shounen masochism, how "the cure for it" had never been found, and considering that suicide is the leading cause of death amongst those who are in their thirties...

I wonder how these people, who promote the weakening of shounens, don't kill themselves more often. They DO realize that what they're creating is counterproductive to Japan's overall image and efforts to rescue itself from its spiritual slump.

Or, in a quick phrase: "A (young) guy who's taking crap from the opposite sex will end up taking crap FOREVER or until it ultimately kills him."

If "death by negative self-energy" is what it takes in order for Japan to make anime and manga that's less pussified and frustrating; then all I need to do is to be patient, sit back, and watch.

I always find it weird to hear people die at such a young age. If someone is 60 years old and dies we say it's not old. But 30 is really nothing compared to that, it's too many years too early to die.

Objection

remember this

One problem with that theory, he was a novelist and light novels can't be banned or restrict any further than they are currently under the YO. Although Ishihara can't be blamed for this, I won't rule out him having a hit squad set up or one that will be set up.

Novelists make LN and full length novels both are exempt from his evil which means there is no basis in Ishihara killing him. I know he's completely evil but I don't think he would be killing novelists because according to the bill they are the vary people who can still publish their work regardless.

I really enjoyed MM!, I consider its opening (both versions) to be one of (if not is) my favorite songs ever. Characters were interesting, laughs were had, and great authors will be missed. I guess that means there will be no second season, but for now, rest in peace, you died too young.

Ishihara himself was a LN writer in the past. I see no motivation. Plus, Ishihara's novels were a LOT worse than MM could ever hope to be, and I wish I meant it in terms of quality.

True most of Ishihara's LNs were rape and murder novels, even the most extreme hentai manga and LNs tend to be consensual and even if there is rape, it's a lot tamer than anything he's written.

Everyone keeps saying that we'll never see another season or a true end to this story, but without more info I can't agree with that entirely. How much of the existing plot is covered in the anime? I've read that there are 12 novels, a 5 volume manga, and two side stories. Did the author leave behind any outline for future work on the project? Perhaps discuss it with his publishers or family/friends? Were there any co-writers or others who might have been intimately familiar with the story setting and characters? Did the animation studio, distributors, and broadcasters buy the rights for the series outright or was it on a case to case basis and author approval? Did anyone inherit the author's estate to where they could make arrangements for continuations based on partially finished writings or notes? I would be really interested to find some of these things out, granted it's possible I never will.

Sadly if I remember right I think in Japan they don't finish the anime/manga/light novel in these situations out of respect for the author. Quite sad, I kind of liked this anime and was hoping to see the next season.
