| Fairy tail is more fun in the beginning but only gets worse and worse as it goes on, meanwhile one piece starts a bit slow but once it hits its stride it stays good. Also these view points come from someone whose only read the manga of each which I would recommend you do as well. |

Despite the fact that I hate it, it does have its standard shounen fights, a colour cast of characters and a lot of comedy which makes it easier to get into. One Piece, while much better written, requires some effort to get into at first and is also way long. Also, I've found that many are adverse to its art style and the animation is not good. The manga is much better but you're more interested in anime, correct? TL;DR I vastly prefer One Piece but Fairy Tail seems easier to get into for a lot of younger and newer anime fans so try that. |

I've also binge watched up to episode 122 of One Piece but all this great anime like Erased was being released so I lost interest. |

| One Piece moves a bit slow, and is probably not ending anytime soon so you'll have to live with it's pacing for a couple of years, but it's nice. But it's become a choir to watch at this point, pacing's bad and the fillers mediorce but the story's pretty gr8. If you like the main characters, you'll probably like the story though(not the series overall, but the story). If you don't like the main characters, you *really* won't like the series. Obviously, only thing to do is to find out. Let's be honest, Lucy is never making anyone's top 45 best characters that start with L and end with Y in a anime with a pink haired protagonist. The difference between your average bad character and Lucy is the difference between snot and poisoned snot. Both are disgusting, but one kills, and it kills over a very slow period of time. Fairy Tail is fanservice and nakama power, One Piece offers that in far lesser doses but with good characters and nice world building. I'd recommend that one. Biggest barrier for One Piece is probably the artystyle and cluttering, but if you get use to it, it won't matter. Edit: Well, this isn't the manga, so cluttering's a non-factor. Biggest barrier is artstyle, filler and really bad pacing. But if you really invest I suppose you'll get use to it. Eh? That doesn't sound like a recommendation. /: |

| People may say One Piece's pace is slow, but that just makes it A LOT easier for you to binge watch. Many years ago I watched like all 400 episodes in about 3 weeks. Throughout the experience to learn to love the characters as they develop and it's definitely something I could call an adventure anime. Fairy Tail is sort of enjoyable but it doesn't really feel like the anime progresses into anything. Also the conflicts they go into aren't really that impressive. (OP goes into slavery & corruption) Overall I recommend One Piece, that is if you aren't an elitist who doesn't want to watch an anime because of its art. |

| Well having seen both I would say FT cause I liked it more. Now that is what a hardcore OP fan friend of mine told me is this: One Piece if better but FT is quite good and much more fast paced compared to OP. If you want sth big good but w/o minding a slow start (around 200~ eps) but w/ a good story and development later on go for OP. If you want a more fast paced, anime that goes quite cliche atm for for FT. It's all in your hands now. W/E you chose, enjoy ;) |

| I was able to make it two episodes into One Piece before dropping it while I was only able to last for 10 seconds of Fairy Tail. Going by this I prefer One Piece even though I don't particularly like either. I much prefer Aikatsu which is a 178 episode CGDCT (like K-On!, but longer, better, and made for little girls instead of young men). I'm 166 episodes into Aikatsu which is 8200% more than how far I got into One Piece. |

| @OP Go with One Piece, unless you want to watch a bunch of asspulls in Fairy Tail. I have been watching both of them and am up to date in both of the manga/anime. Fairy Tail has been nothing, but a disappointment lately (past year and half, maybe longer) where it is nothing, but cheap wins, and asspulls to bring people "back to life". Only reason why I am sticking with it is in hopes of it getting better again and since I stuck with it since the beginning. Fairy Tail is good before the 2014 version, this is where the quality drops. One Piece has better world building and better fights. The story behind it is more cohesive too, although one piece can start to get repetitive later on. The Dressrosa arc has horrible pacing, but luckily if you start it now, Dressrosa has ended and I believe you would be able to enjoy that arc by binging on it. If you pick it up now and catch up, you will be on time for two amazing upcoming arcs, so I say go for One Piece. |
| Fairy Tail has better music and girls, that's about it at this point. In terms of animation quality, its dropped as bad as One Piece has but at least OP still has movies/specials with decent budget with a good several few hundred episodes before it dipped. |

| Watch both cuz they are both a great watch and neither of em have many fillers FT even went now the 2nd time on hiatus so that we dont get 1year or so of pointless fillers. Anyway FT is currently on a break so you can finish befor they continue it. And for One Piece with 751 a new arc starts so its kinda a fine to start watchin it now i just finished it recently and took me around 2weeks for all thoose 750episodes^^ |

| Go for One Piece, it is worth its time, altough manga is probably better. Fairy "friendship will win any fight (wow such plot twist wow) and nobody can't die in this series" Tail is watchable too, but in terms like fights or tits. It is enough though I think. So yeah watch OP first then FT. |

| Good lord, NEITHER! OP will literally never end. FT is the most cliche battle shounen you will ever see. You will NEVER feel any real tension and almost every arc repeats itself with the same tired bs. It CAN be entertaining....but you can easily predict the outcomes of most arcs. |
| I almost can't imagine someone trying to get into OP from the very beginning... They're on episode 1,069....yeah good luck catching up. Seriously....it will NEVER end....I mean look at Naruto...the fucking manga finally ended and the anime is STILL milking it for every last drop. Why the fuck do they STILL have fillers when the source material is over?!! Makes no fucking sense. 13-26 episode anime are the best way to go. This never ending shounen shit is straight up annoying. |
