More than episodes, it is revealing to count the time they have been out of their homes. Taichi: ~1 month The rest of the team: ~3 months That's a lot of time for kids that age. Also note how they have matured a lot in this ep (even Mimi makes fun of her previously chidlish and annoying self ) |

| Despite the flaws, I quite enjoyed this episode. The way the mountain and castle breaks down the more they fight and the music (when the door opened it even changed a little) was the best bit. The animation was a bit wonky, though. Gennai's comment about not liking to leave his home is such BS. I don't get why he doesn't want to answer questions but was willing to do with Koushiro when they were alone. Why can't they know the details? Just bizarre to me and I don't think they ever answer the reason for the secrecy. I wonder if Taichi and Yamato both recognizing the location of Hikarigaoka is foreshadowing. |
| I wonder if they chose Gomamon, because of the japanese phrase "Hirake Goma". Which is an expression for "Open Sesame!". |

| They escaped. Gennai's house? Dat light. Gomamon split the water like Moses. Dat house. Gennai in the flesh. Gennai is neither human or digimon. Vamdemon is in Nerima district. Taichi and Yamato react. Hikarigaoka? Dat flash. Dem phones. Vamdemon. Dem cards. Another world? Gennai and Koushiro. Gennai doesn't have an attribute. Dat theme. Kabuterimon. AtlurKabuterimon. The castle is collapsing. Jo wants Taichi to do it. Oh snap! Yamato called Taichi the leader. Yamato accepts Taichi as leader. Taichi being smart by choosing Koushiro. Ir would have been too obvious to make it Agumon since thats his digimon and the decision would have been bias. |

| the kids have successfully gotten home. i genuinely wanted to know the actual reason for the gomamon card being correct, leaving it down to a 50/50 chance is kind of wack since the rest of the cards had a reason behind their placement but i guess it doesn't matter now lol |
