| I would say that most of the big hitters have been mentioned above but here are a few honorable mentions I would like to point out. They have elements of strategy in them and are worth the watch for these moments. Black Lagoon (Balalaika moments but can happen from other characters too) Fate/Zero (since it is all a calculated death game) Monster (It's a big mystery series and has a lot of mindgames and well planned schemes hidden throughout but I would say it might seem a bit slow at the start for it all to come together) Edit: Blind suggestion: Legend of the Galactic Heroes ( I have heard so much about it and how it is full of tacticians that I have to mention it I suppose, though bare in mind I have not watched this yet so, take it as you will). |

| Kingdom and LoGH are on the bigger scale, generals and politicians play with hundreds of thousands/millions soldiers. |
| Crest of the Stars has some galactic strategizing as I recall, though it's been some time since I watched it. Hyouge Mono follows the consolidation of power by, first, Oda Nobunaga and later Toyotomi Hideyoshi during the Sengoku period. It's a story about many other things, but the main character is one of Nobunaga's principal negotiators and is sent off to secure the cooperation of other daimyo by diplomacy or threat. |

For strategy, Legend of the Galactic Heroes and it's ripoff.... ahem, 'successor', Code Geass are unbeatable (though CG season 2 has some significant plot holes) Since you're looking for anime, don't watch Kingdom. Only the manga truly does justice to that masterpiece. If you're looking for something like NGNL or Log Horizon, then go for DanMachi (as much as I hate to recommend it, it's probably what you're looking for) |
| I 2nd Kingdom(seriously, It's surprising, that this anime hasn't been mentioned a million times yet) aside from that, The Legend of Qin has a bunch here, and there, hell they even quote Sun Tsu on multiple occasions. |
