Most people would agree that most anime live action adaptations tend to suck, but there are some good ones out there.
I thought Speed Racer was decent, also, Ichi the Killer wasn't horrible, it was alright.

Idk, what do you guys think?

Gantz live action is coming out in 2011 it looks pretty good.

Blood was ok.

Devilman was complete shit, which is a shame.

The guyer, was awfu but some comedy and mark hamil made it funny. The second one was still really bad but had better fight scenes.

I liked deathnote and they re-wrote some plot elements which makes it totally different to the anime and manga. For the twist alone its worth watching is you like deathnote and you like the writing.

I think i've seen a few more but I can't remember them and on the whole Live actions are pretty poor.

I don't recall knowing or ever seeing a decent live action movie adapted from an anime...Games still have a few must-see or watchable ones.

Aside from that, I suggest not watching them, it's screwed up.

What games? I haven't ever heard of a watchable game->live action movie. I've never looked for one, though.

The Death Note films (aside from L: Change The WorLd) are the only ones I've seen that really strive for excellence and, for the most part, reach it. Although to be fair, didn't the movies (or at least one of them) come out before the anime aired?

Speed Racer was fun, but extremely flawed (get a better editor next time, Wachowskis).

Guyver was pretty good for its time as it had a mix of HK martial arts on wire and choreography and CG for its time was passable. Only other live-action I remember watching was Crying Freeman with Mark Dacascos.

What I'm looking forward to though is Battle Angel Alita and Cowboy Bebop, which should be pretty good(if they don't stuff it up).

...and anyone who's seen BECK the anime can expect a live-action coming soon. You can check the site here.

I hope Cowboy Bebop will be good, not like Dragonball, so disapointing T_T

Death Note, Blood: The Last Vampire and Initial D are good. I love the drifting in Initial D :P

I really enjoyed the Honey and Clover and Nodame Cantabile dramas.
I don't know if it was because of my initial love for the stories that made me like them, but yeah...

Prince of Persia was watchable, very cliche and predictable but at least it was fun with some good action.

Mushishi live action was not bad, but the ending wasn't good, imo.

Dragon Ball was good compared to anything that came out of the shithole 50$ budget Japanese Movie Industry.
DMC was decent. Though it was long and omitted several great scenes, the 10 rape per second was more like the 10 rapes in 5 seconds. And it didn't even sound like rape. The acting was incredibly low tier, the special effects left me in awe... of the 7 foot ozauru in the DBZ movie. They really played up Negishi's whole "I'm a faggot" thing. He was acting more pansy than in the anime. And there was no pig of capitalism.
Sailor Moon Live action was absolutely dreadful. Despite making the sailor scouts hideous Japan also thought they should use less special effects than the sci fi channel in their transformations.
Higurashi was equally awful. None of the characters looked remotely like their anime counterparts. And they picked a really ugly cast. Rika and Satoko looked like they were in highschool. The acting was god awful. And the attempts to create a sppoky atmosphere failed miserably. The cleaver looked like a big ol rubber paddle and the blood was obviously fake.

I enjoyed one of the Death Note Live Action movies (I've only seen that one so far) At first I thought it was just good, but by the end, it had really gripped me and got me into it.

I've seen most of the Detroit Metal City Live-action just now, and I've got to say... it's hilarious! I found the DMC anime to be even better, but the live-action movie is amazing as well.
