it's done?....no conclusion, no epilogue....no nothing?
what a damn disappointment....I waited patiently for one year to find out the series has already ended?...FUCK!
Understand that when it comes to creative works, whether film, music, or books etc, sometimes the creator gets bored of a series, or they're not making enough money off it. or they just plain run out of ideas, or another project of their's has ended up taking their time (looks at Kurenai). In any case, as I already mentioned, each of the three books (which the OVAs were based upon) were released between 5 and 6 years ago, so it seems to me that the author has either {A} dropped the series (most likely) or {B} put it on indefinite hold (less likely). Perhaps he might in the future decide to ask that book 2 also be made into an OVA, but don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen... You might suffocate. In any case, when an author abandons a work without a conclusive ending, obviously it, uhh... won't have an ending.
In my own opinion, each book, or episode stands on its own, and even though it would be nice to know more about the main characters, such as their backgrounds and motivations, it's still an enjoyable work.
Maybe if someone would write the author and ask him if he'll ever consider resuming the series with more novels, and maybe if more people actually bought his stuff, then just maybe it would have a greater chance of continuing in the future.

Why the hell announce almost a year later that the series is over? This seriously let me down.
It was announced long ago, it's just that no one was paying attention until now. Everyone was basically relying on third-party sources and unverified information. It seems no one thought to check the official sources until recently.
Part of the problem was the English Wikipedia article, which gave unsubstantiated information about a third episode. I think lots of people were misled by that.
If there's a lesson to be taken away from this situation, it's that people shouldn't place blind faith in Wikipedia. Always verify with independent info (That's why citations are one of the cornerstones of Wikipedia, and any reliable encyclopedia for that matter). Wikipedia is a great source of information, just so long as people understand its limitations and potential for error. |
