You can't blame them, they only publish graphic novels. Now, if it sells well perhaps it'll convince Seven Seas, Viz or Tokyopop to license the light novels. Hopefully Seven Seas, they release in traditional Japanese book size (so tiny :D).

I'm not up on American/English licensing of light novels, but if Seven Seas keeps the book size, I'd definitely prefer them. I have a copy of the first Haruhi novel in Japanese, and I just love the size. I don't know much about any other novels by Tokyopop, but they seem to be extremely slow in releasing the Kino no Tabi novels.

I'm looking forward to this. I hope it will sell well enough to convince someone to license the light novels.

And that's what reading the Bakatsuki light novels are for.

Of course :P
But if I was to choose between reading Bakatsuki translations and the manga to get an idea of what isn't addressed in the anime, I would pick the translations.

Holy crap. 2009 is looking like pure Haruhi win maybe we will even get the 2nd season in that year. I can't wait for the Novels and Manga! *explodes* So the novels won't be censored either right? Like they didn't announce a rating for them or anything :X By censoring I more or less meant like toning down language or whatever...

I love Yen Press! They keep getting the best stuff.

I'm suprised it took this long for all the Haruhi media to get licensed. Hmmm. :/

In the original source they stated
There are a few ecchi bits--it’s not necessarily overtly sexual in nature, but Haruhi is quite unrestrained when she wants something, I don’t know if you can describe it as ecchi so much as a blatant disregard for anyone else’s personal boundaries.

Maybe they are getting strict? xD If anyone read the manga tell us how bad it gets.
