My thought is since Kanade had all those evil clones sucked back in her shes actually plotting something and using otonashi to fullfil her role and make everyone dissapear and the part about having only 4 episodes left, either they are preparing to fail or somewhere midfield the entire thing is gonna be revealed and take a twist/rash turn of events
Afcourse that is all speculation and nothing more, so if anyone does know what exacly will happen dont answer, this is a topic for guessing ,so, whats your opinion :P?
After resolving Yui's lack of ability to go out in sunlight while she was alive, Otonashi finds out that she still doesn't disappear because of her bond to Hinata. Talking with the rest he finds that some of them are at peace with their life but still stick around because they worry about their friends in the SSS.
Surmising that in the end the anchor that is preventing them from leaving is Yuri, Otonashi looks for her but is confronted for betraying the SSS cause. Letting her stab him, he tries to talk Yuri out of her hate. The rest of SSS shows up and tries to convince her as well even her die hard fans Hinata and Noda. She takes it badly and runs off.
So they launch a search for her and Kanade is the one who finds her while she is being attacked by the King of the Forest (new monster), fighting it off together and Yuri being injured in the leg and unable to move away, Kanade sits down and talks to her. We then hear Kanade's past
When the rest of the SSS shows up, Yuri puts down her self hate but is unwilling to leave. She says she will stay to help the many unnamed SSS members to move to their next life and to free Kanade from her responsibility. Knowing that they cannot change her mind (she is Yuri after all), they accept it and vanish
We then see from the first person point of view. Apparently Otonashi was reborn and grew up some and now attends high school. He eats lunch with 2 people could be Hinata and Ooyama but hears a commontion and a girl who says that she is not interested in people who are not aliens, espers or time travellers

wow...quite a vivid imagination.
One thing to note through; Angel beats is the story of life; as it its plot revolves around the concept of life. So any speculations should adhere to this concept.

I see what you did there, well played. Haha. I am going for a sad ending, it will be most likely that Kanade stays behind alone, 'cause of duties or whatever. (or something we might hear about it in the near future, she might be bound to this ''world'' or whatever it actually is)
I'd imagine they pull something of which is similar to your ending. Time will tell.

If she is bound to this world, maybe this whole world is her conscious?
It's her world or sumthing like that, very possible, maybe... =D
I think everyone with disapear except Yuri, Otonashi, and Tenshi. Yuri will try and "kill" God or something and she'll go mad and possibly "kill" Otonashi. Tenshi will be in fact an angel and probably a "fallen" angel. Then Otonashi will save Yuri from going insane and Tenshi will like do some purification thing and return to God while everyone passes on~
Make it simple, Tenshi and Otonashi helps the whole SSS disappear, Yuri last since she's bitchy dun wanna tell how she died!! Well, at last, Tenshi will disappear since Otonashi will help her and that was her wish to begin with, Otonashi will disappear after Tenshi, it was also his wish to help everyone disappear, basically, they wake up from coma or something, then at IRL, they meet each other but this time, normally and no magic bro
Otonashi frees everyone, then himself, meets others in real life, walks off into the sunset
Otonashi does something dramatic, and is remembered by everyone else, but is stuck in the afterlife with kanade( who bizarrely has the same hairstyle as his sister), while everyone else gets to pass on
They'll most likely all disappear because they'll all be fulfilled. And someday, they will all meet again as reborn people out of some contrived coincidence. I'm guessing that's the most possible solution.
Too bad it's a Key work. If it wasn't, I'd wish that

Jun Maeda wrote this dude, this is not death note :p
yeah i'm guessing that
Otonashi's still alive in the hospital and maybe he received a transplant from a dying girl called Tachibana Kanade...just sayin :p

Judging by the fact that there are only 3 episodes left,
theres probably gonna be a second season cuz if only
one character dissapears per episode, theres gonna
have to be a lot more episodes unless there is a really
crappy ending and everyone somehow ends up passing on
I agree with Phanotak on this one more, since the objective now is for every character to disappear, unless Otonashi is being a fag and at the end changes his mind. But if not, everyone else will have to pass on first, and it's kinda stupid to have more than one character disappear per episode.
At the end of the day, whatever the ending of this season is, let's hope they don't butcher it.
Otonashi will wake up, in the hospital. He will have been technically dead for only a few moments. As the episode ends, we see Hinata pushing Yui in a wheelchair on the sidewalk just behind him, going the opposite direction.

I expect it to have some kind of big cliffhanger that will lead to the second season. I can think of a lot of cliffhangers, but I want to let myself be surprised.

KEY always making SAD Ending, remember AIR TV and CLANNAD ?
Ms. Tachibana's story will be revealed and Otonashi will be the one fulfilling her wishes.
Well after seeing episode10, I'm unsure what's going to happen. Maybe those things are the ones sending unsettled souls who can't find peace to "hell" or something? Maybe that's why Ms. Tachibana's been trying to get them out, and that's partly why she developed weapons for herself.

just my opinion :D
Well, it is supplemented by the fact that there are other medias for the author to narrate the story to us, such as mangas, novels, visual novels, etc etc.
my guess is that kanade will be the one left behind and those situation will keep happening to her, and she has to keep going through it all over and over again, cuz im thinking why SSS would be fighting kanade in the beginning unless kanade just wants it to be over with and get them to rest in peace like the last bunch of people, cuz if SSS were there first, they would of taken out kanade but kanade already had her programs and stuff b4 SSS otherwise she wouldnt of put up much of a fight.
There will be this big epic montage of Otonashi and co. making everyone disappear in a sadish/happyish way, then the core members of the SSS (all the ones in the OP) will try to find Yurippe as she suddenly gets surrounded by Shadows. They'll save her, but then one by one everyone will start being eaten by the Shadows. Yuri will come up with this whole grand "Sacrifice myself to save everyone" plan even though the whole reason they went was to save her. Cue teary eyed goodbye, then she'll be consumed by the shadows, who for some reason focus all their attention on her all of a sudden.
But wait! There's a light coming out of the shadow!!! All of a sudden, Yuri, since she was able to save the people close to her (even though its only for the moment), is erased rather than eaten. Then, the bad guy who causes all this comes out of nowhere clapping his hands in a maniacal way and starts a monologue. As he prepares to have the shadows eat the rest, Otonashi does a Naoi-esque scene again, but it doesnt work. All of a sudden, Kanade bursts in with a new ability, the room fills with light, and all the shadows are gone, and the bad guy is forcibly erased.
In the aftermath, the SSS is standing in a solemn circle around the Guild entrance. They all remember the events sadly, but accept it. One by one, they all disappear, satisfied (?) at the outcome, and accepting the end of the SSS. Only Kanade and Otonashi are left. End Episode 12.
Episode 13, Kanade and Otonashi live out a nice school life together. At the end of the year, after the graduation ceremony, Kanade and Otonashi are by the riverbank, just sitting there. They have a nice "This is it" conversation, kinda sad, then Kanade starts to disappear all of a sudden. Cut to flashback.
Apparently, Kanade was isolated as a child. She had no friends, and was constantly the target of bullies. Eventually, she secluded herself to the point that she was almost a mute. Then, by a chance encounter, she meets Otonashi. Having the sis-con that he does, he hangs out with her every day, even though she basically ignores him. One day, seeing her being bullied, he basically kicks/gets kicked the shit out of. After the fights over, she asks why he would do that, and he says some Otonashi-ish line about how you should always help people in need, or do the right thing, etc. Inspired, she tries following his view on life, but because of her secluded past, it turns out very awkward. She then becomes student council president at her school all because of what she learned from Otonashi. Oh, btw, Otonashi moved away because he decided to go to medical school, so Kanade is alone by now.
Being prez doesnt work out so well. She was bullied more than ever, and without Otonashi, she was crazy lonely. Even when she tries to follow Otonashi's view by just helping random people on the street, she was abused just as much. In the end, she is trying to stop two people from fighting, but one pulls a gun on her and shoots. Thats her past.
Back in the Afterlife, we learn that her only wish was to be together with Otonashi (not romantically, just that she could be with the one person who didnt bully her, the only person who showed her kindness) and to live a school life with him, one with many friends, and one where she could help people (helping the SSS "graduate"). With that, she disappears, and cut to black.
We hear voices, none any coherent. Then its someone telling him to wake up. We dont recognize the voice. He opens his eyes, and its a girl with a sniper. Otonashi quickly thinks its Yurippe, but its not. The scene plays out like it did in the beginning. In his head, Otonashi narrates that so long as this world exists, he can't just leave it be, let people be trapped in here like the previous SSS was. Apparently, he's become the "keeper" of this world, coming back whenever there are lost souls there, so that he can help them find there way.... *cue Key-invoked tears*
Here's my theory: None of them are actually dead... they are all in coma's as a result of serious injury or ill health. The world they see is a computer simulation fed into their brains in order to maintain their neural pathways and to try and revive them. The world can be re-programmed from the inside using the school's computers. This explains why, whenever you see a change, lots of 0s and 1s appear to move around. If a person is revived, they wake up but their bodies remain as NPCs to fill the school. If a person dies or accepts death, they disappear in light.
