The correct pronunciation is "oh-NEHH-chan". Emphasis on the middle syllable and drag it out a little. Hopefully you don't actually pronounce it as "oh-KNEE-chan", because that means older brother instead of older sister.

Honestly, I can't think of any situations where I would ever need or want to say "oneechan." I don't have any older sisters, and if I did I certainly wouldn't be addressing them with foreign terminology.

Oniisan (or oniichan, oniisama) refers to older brother, while oneesan (or oneechan, oneesama) refers to older sister, I'm pretty sure.

I'm not a linguistic expert but this may help:
onii - Oh knee
onee - Oh neigh

That's correct, for older sister and older brother. Normally for referring to someone not in your own family, except (I think) when you're addressing your own older sister/brother. So I believe you'd call your older brother onii-san (-chan, -sama) when addressing him, but if you were just talking about him he'd be ani. And if you're talking about some classmate's older brother (or something) it'd be onii-san, am I right?

That totally depends on whether you mean "oniichan" or "oneechan". First means "big brother", second means "big sister".

For "oniichan", I pronounce the "o" as that in "otaku". Unless you pronounce that wrong -__- I don't think that o-sound occurs naturally in English?
The "nii" as "knee" and "chan" as in... any "chan" you'll hear in an anime.

For "oneechan", "o" is the same as in "oniichan" and "nee" like that in "next". "Chan" the same as for "oniichan".

I can't really vote, cos none of the choices seem like the way I'd do it O_o

Make sure you stretch the nii part since oni by itself is a kind of monster in Japanese. XD

I'm having trouble believing this thread is serious.

First of all you've all heard how it's pronounced in shows, and if that confuses you just look at the way it's spelled in kana. This is why romaji sucks.
