.) Kijin Gentoushou ED2 (This isn't terrible or anything and is perfectly fine and serviceable, but as I said when voting during a previous round, out of the four - two OPs and two EDs, the only one which I really liked and which really resonated with the headspace I was in from taking in an episode of the show and therefore watched and listened to every time, was the first ED, even though this was my second favorite series of the spring season. And that's fine - it often isn't the case that what my favorite or preferred OPs or EDs are match which series I like best. Sometimes I don't care much for any/all of those of a series I otherwise rate and rank highly.
But even though I'm voting for it here, the switching to what I found to be a worse ED for this series, as second ones sometimes are, just serves to reinforce my sentiment of which I often wish at least 24 - 26 episode two cour series didn't feel the need to have two and switch their OPs and EDs when they already had a great one to start and open up with. Sometimes they might even change some minor visual sequences like by way of showing new characters who only appear later, while still keeping the music intact. I believe it used to be more commonplace that series would retain the same one for at least two cours. Newer series longer than one cour, whether continuous run or otherwise, which wisely did this are ones like Orb - On the Movements of the Earth and Birdie Wing: Golf Girls' Story. They correctly and aptly identified that they couldn't top what they already had)
.) Ruri no Houseki ED (second favorite ED of the season after my own Arknights season 3 nominee and one of the favorites of the year as a whole - Ruri no Houseki was one of the rare series with both an OP and ED I would listen to each time)
.) Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku ED (didn't watch the series, but this has striking colors visually, which gets my attention and earns the vote even more than the aural component of its music, which is fine and pleasant enough but stands out less as something special)
.) Ame to Kimi to ED (befitting of the late night and sleepy tone which pervaded the series even when a lot of the runtime and scenes in any given episode took place in daytime - it was spiritually always a nighttime show) |
