Akira getting wrongful accused for a crime seems to serve as a plot for his character now. Two episodes in and he does meet Amelia, who has been heavily advertised from the promos.

Besides Akira, Asahina is someone I think to keep an eye on. He has leadership qualities and has a history with Akira. Good thing they set up the plot now for rest of the season. Curious to see how much they plan to develop the relationship between Akira/Amelia.

"It's natural for young kids to act on impulse like that"... that’s seriously what we’re going with here? I mean, it’s not like he had any problem barging in on the literal king his first night there, but now he has to investigate a little “maiden” and suddenly he forgets to keep up his mysterious act? Sure, let’s go with that. I find it funny that the exact same person who said that line was the one who ended up taking the blow for him, if anything.

Now our guy’s in a full on Shield Hero predicament, that now thanks to a certain skank, he’s on the run. Real smart and mysterious, all commendations there. Also how convenient that among these kids, one of them just happens to have a skill stronger than a curse. Like really man? All this time the royal idiots had and they never once thought something like that could happen to have produce some better crystal things.

Anyway, main dude’s got his generic waifu now, so this is just like any other fantasy series at this point. Though honestly, it feels more like another Solo Leveling, just already ten times better, admittedly.

For once I'm glad the pacing is fast, get all the usual stuff out of the way and straight to the main plot.

After the slow paced first episode, they really switched into gear in this one.
And I realized from the conversation that they already know everything about eachother through their skills, they really should have given some introduction to Amelia, what was she doing there, why was she swallod up by a slime and how is she alive after that?

I was happy with the strong BL vibe until the appearance of that mysterious elf girl make it fade away. At least he dreams about his male friend.

I should be sad by the death of commander Saran but I suspect if his ultimate fate is really death, even the King notice it was too easy to kill him...

I notice since previous season's Clevatess that the 90s anime style is back. But it's not going anyway in the first place.

I already felt like this was just Arifureta/Failure Frame mixed with world’s finest assassin from the first episode, this one only made that more clear giving us our typical MC being framed and banished from the country he was summoned to set up. Even down to the usual contingent of students who realize the MC’s been framed trope lol. Not complaining because I love FF and Arifureta, but it’s funny seeing this get so much love when those got a lot of hate. I’m digging the BL undertones in this too

RIP Saran, I actually thought he was gonna be sus, turns out he was a genuinely good dude who wanted to help Akira and the other kids. I didn’t get sad when he died because of the how fast the pacing is here, but he was a cool mentor/older brother/yaoi love interest for Akira lmao. S/O to Gilles for carrying out his last wishes and helping Akira escape.

I was kinda wondering why no one spoke up for Akira after the framing if Gilles had Asahina break the mind control crystals, but I’m guessing that was all part of the plan to avoid a direct confrontation with the king Rn. Can’t wait to see that pos get packed up, he’s just like the goddess from failure frame.

Is it wrong to pick up girls in the dungeon? Would not be a seasonal revenge fantasy if we didn’t get our obligatory dream elf royalty waifu the MC picks up in the most random way lol. She’s so pretty and gravity magic is really cool. We’ve seen this 100x before, but I still like seeing these relationships develop and stories play out.

This whole thing feels like written by an edgy middle schooler. Things are going way too fast too imo. Still, it's fun to watch, so I guess I'm sticking with it for now.

Pretty sure it was the guard with the glasses, not one of the kids, who had the power to manipulate one of them to destroy the handful of crystals

wonder why he didn't just kill the princess. Too cautious I guess

glad we didn't go with the generic "him against the world" approach, having some allies makes things more interesting, personally

and ofc gotta have the typical "cast out from the isekaied class elf waifu" 😄. not that I'm complaining

Strange that the solder went down so easily, he seemed pretty strong.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

Might be one of the flattest stories I ever seen, barely any plot or depth.

Visually, this is one of the nicest looking isekai, only reason im still watching this.

Despite what anyone says about this, it just keeps getting better and better for me. Even though I already read the LN, it's sad that Saran had to die since he was such a good guy. We finally get to see Amelia—I just love her so much, and her chemistry with Akira is amazing. Next episode, we get to meet the little sister who drove her out of her home.

A disappointing second episode.

Many scenes feel shoehorned.

Too many character reactions are unrealistic and break immersion.

If you think about it for a few seconds, the plot from the evil nobles makes no sense whatsoever.

What a letdown.

I have little hope for the third episode.

And on top of this, one of the subtitles from Crunchyroll didn't sound like proper English to me: "Try not to use it unless needs must" at 3:36
I wonder how much of the nonsense of the episode is caused by bad subtitles.

Honestly speaking i don't really enjoy this adaptation. Like I read the Manga up to this episode only but I prefer the Manga simply because the pacing feels way to quick in the anime. Like these events happens but there is no flow between these events which the Manga adapts better than the anime. To me there is a lack of feeling or engagement to the story and mc situation simply because these events just feels like they happens and it's just following the flow without those details that doesn't make these event feel so sporadic.

@Hurrikhan "needs must" is a very old saying and not many people use it in a sentence like that , so in the sentence here "needs must" means necessary or unavoidable.

I think what I'm enjoying the most are the character designs, the elf girl looks so good. I'd go as far to say the most beautiful character I've seen this season.

Can also appreciate that not every student that got teleported aside from the lead isn't a completely useless moron like a lot of these classroom isekai tend to do treat them.

The story I'm still not too keen on yet but at least it's more acceptable than a couple other isekais airing this season.

I love that deep in the dungeon he randomly finds a sexy elf lady inside a slime monster, and then retracks to level 69 to rest with her 😬

Also shame that Captain Saran was seeming killed off one and a third episodes into the series. Thought he might be a bit more significant than that (and also don't know why the MC doesn't just kill the King, but maybe he's secretly mega powerful or possessed by dark magic or something). The King didn't seem to detect him when he used conceal in his study in the first episode though.

first episode was promising but the second one showed this show's true colours, that it's complete trash. And highly overrated. Nothing in this episode made sense, the horrible pacing being the least of the issues with the story. A lot of deus ex machina and stupid actions to create some sort of plot. If you can't write even the first act to make some sort of sense (and not that everyone is close to being clinically retrded), how can one assume the rest of the story won't be worse? At this rate this is on track to be worse than the revenge anime with the witches.

Is it me or are we skipping on a lot of content? I feel like this second episode we skipped on a ton of things, since it all felt rushed.

Like the meeting between the mc and the elf. I guess because both had the same rare skill, it auto read each others mind and it's like they knew each other even tho they never met until now?

And what's up with killing the nice commander?? (I still think he is too good to not be an evil douchebag, but time will tell unless he really did die there)

Not great, but good so far. Story is a little bland and something we've seen many times.

It is nice in a story like this that his classmates needed brainwashing to turn on him, and not that they all had comically shitty personalities. I think it is more interesting this way. Too often, we've seen the most poorly written villains for the whole “super powerful and betrayed” trope.

Will continue watching.

Why doesn't he just kill the witch and the king? he invaded both of their privacy with ease before...

The king summons hero's, then curses the hero's so they don't kill the demon lord? No make sense it does...

Well things was going way too easy so obviously all blame goes to mc. To make him the villain. Wouldn't see that coming.

Saran was way too nice of a guy to stick around. But man the entire thing was rushed. After this much building him up..

And literally waifu spawn lmao. She looks absolutely gorgeous. Silver hair+Red eyes+Elf yes perfection..
Her ED was beautiful aswell.

Hopefully it calms down a bit. Not the greatest of plots but it has things going for it.

Great ep

His shadow magic is pretty cool to say the least.

Revealing his identity was stupid asl.

NAH, i didn't expect the commander to die so soon.

The commander's friend is a W manz.

Basic ahh dungeon leveling.

Asahina is looks interesting.

Finally met the character that made me want to watch this series in the first place.

What's this elf's name? The pacing is decently fast with transitions, but ngl I'm happy that its like this.

That abrupt ahh ending.

9.5/10

I just got done watching Kijin Gentoushou, and I think I'm fucked for a while. I cannot possibly watch this level of mid crap and take it seriously.

Kijin has pretty bad animation except for some action scenes in the first half. Characters snap from one position to another, some dialogue scenes are just still frames...

But damn, is the script and the screenwriting so fucking good. The audio mixing too. And of course, the story under it all is also pretty thought provoking and confusing, but it pays off so well when it comes together. Not the best ever of course, but closer to it than it is to mediocrity.

This, on the other hand... It's basically the complete opposite. Not even though because animation is not that good. I don't know why I had such high expectations.

I'm pretty happy with this show so far. Sure, it's within a tropey genre, but it's not exactly a copy/paste. I was definitely waiting for the captain to betray the MC, and was pleasantly surprised when he did not (though still sad when he died, I liked him). Of course the MC is framed and the King turns on everyone, but we saw that coming from the start. On the other hand, the show distinguishes itself by having a significant number of main characters who DON'T turn on the MC and are fully aware of the plot, meaning the show doesn't fall into the whole "everyone against the MC" trope.

Now, if you're thinking that that's a pretty low standard to meet, yeah, you're right, but that's where the isekai genre is right now, so I put this show above a lot of others.

I also think it's an open question as to whether the princess is evil or not. The show constantly focuses on her glazed-over eyes, referred to her as a puppet, and at times had her just repeat the same line over and over, all of which make me think it's possible she's being mind controlled in a way even more thorough than the curse on the students.

I wonder why that sentence was the only one using an archaic formulation. I didn't notice any other in this episode or the previous one.
I've reported the subtitle to Crunchyroll support. The bot that answered agreed with me and told me it was forwarding it to their team. (In case anyone had doubts about the accuracy of AI)

Really enjoying this one. As I said last week the animation style/art for me is a love letter to the past that I absolutely love. Just a couple differences this week from the light novel. First, after finding out the commander was killed he has a brief conversation with the vice commander who gives him the commanders final instructions and if I’m remembering correctly some gear as well. He also tells akira that the commander feared this would happen. Aside from just a couple tiny things the only other difference was the battle with the slime containing our elf beauty was a little different and a bit more fleshed out. Other than that it was really close. Book 6 of the English manga is dropping next month so I can’t wait for that. For those of you who haven’t had the chance to read the manga or the LN the story here is really great. Especially the epic love story between these two. He will continue to grow and jaws will drop when we see what she is truly capable of. The overall story here reminds me a lot of failure frame, which is another fantastic LN and manga regardless how you felt about the use of so much cgi in the anime. That aside, I truly do think our boy Akira here will be really well liked by the end of this season. I would almost guarantee a second season if everything continues like these first 2 episodes. Can’t wait! 😊
