Any sensible parent will worry about their children, and that's exactly how Oliver represents it. It was so nice to see him having a frank and honest conversation with Renji. He knows they'll inevitably be together in the future, so he entrusted his daughter to our protagonist.

The beach and festival scenes were deeper than I expected, obviously dramatized as it was the final episode, but satisfying nonetheless.

I loved this show from start to finish. Its theme is so common in everyday life that it avoided several clichés and surprised at various moments. It brought fun characters, and most importantly, it handled Renji and Lily's situation well.

A flat 5/10 a good and enjoyable anime for 1 season

Not much to say on this one other than thank God this pedo apologia is over. Could’ve actually been a good show if they just focused on Lily making friends with other people her own age and teaching them English/them teaching her about Japanese culture, but they had to go into the weird middle schooler with a college student thing. Her having a crush is not the issue, people like older people all the time as kids, the issue is Renji being aware of this and putting himself in inappropriate positions with a minor constantly. Also, the dad casually accepting his daughter and renji’s relationship lmao gtfo man.

The fireworks scene was the best scene in the series I’ll give them that, it looked nice.

Well, her father is more sensible about the whole thing than her mother is. But it was a cute ending, what more do you want.

Ha ha. Teasing the lolicons with the loli posse entering the onsen, and then switching to Oliver fansevice.
"Problem?"
"Not at all."
Oliver does appreciate a protective Renji.

Himari trying the sun screen bit. Renji does not bite.

A team of yukata lolis. Kawaii! Cute as kittens.

"I am not a child anymore!"
I will take that under advisement.

Renji melts for Lily's canted head beaming smile. Yep, it was adorable.

How do you get lost on a rectilinear midway of a side show? Well, I guess if you are short you can get turned around. As a prepared scout, I always did take a compass with me, even on urban expeditions.

I get a little suspicion that season two will have multiple rival arcs. Himari, Momoka, and maybe Kaga. ...
...
...
I am sure I will not get the Sheryl couger arc that I am wishing for.

And so we end with the promised festival hand holding and fireworks.

Alongside Mogura-san this was my other surprise sleeper hit of the season. I expected cuteness going in, but the cultural exchange aspect was handled better and with more focus than I thought it'd be. In particular, I was surprised at the sheer amount of Engrish they allowed Lily to speak early on. It got me to wondering if a show in Japanese where the lead and their family speaks predominantly Engrish while the secondary cast doesn't could work. They got away from it a bit as the series went on, but never entirely. Even in this finale there was the car conversation between Lily's parents and a few other moments. I've seen maybe a show or two tackle that subject before, but this was probably the best so far. Of course there were also plenty of cute and wholesome moments thrown in throughout. Honestly I found the series pretty delightful. Continue? I certainly hope so. Solid 8/10.

Dayyum. Lily's dad is pretty handsome when he's not angry and not wearing his glasses. Lily takes after him, huh? Also, what a straightforward question to ask Renji. But his answer was vague af. Just say that you're friends bruh. It doesn't seem like Lily's dad is fully off his ass either.

The beach and onsen parts of this episode were basically non-existent. But the festival part was pretty good. Lily nearly proposed again. But of course it got interrupted by literally everyone. This kinda thing never happens at the end of the first season for these kinds of anime which is pretty disappointing. Like damn, either accept or reject. It's annoying to see this shit being dragged out every time.

Also you're telling me Lily actually met Renji a long time ago and he was the one who gave her the first Otokogi Koala merch? That's crazy & also very cute.

This was a really cute and wholesome show. It wasn't anything special but I enjoyed watching it. I wouldn't mind watching another season. The ending didn't need to tease it like that. We know it's not going to get another season because this type of anime never gets one which is a bit sad.

At first I'm quite underappreciate this anime. But when I think about how the world is too obsess with borders between countries, an anime about multiculturalism might help destroying the barrier.

A classic one but a good classic one, the game center theme was super cool and all the characters are pretty fun, maybe the romance point between a 13 year old girl and an 18 year old man is a bit strange but for me that was not too pushed and Renji didn't accept for that I think!

overall at the begining it was pretty interesting but with each ep you can just begin to notice the age difirence it's not like i think that age matters that much in a relationship, but she's just genuinely a child how can you have romantic feelings for a child is purely beyond me, anyways overall story 5/10 i don't mind a second season

Cool summer festival ending with the fireworks! The show would have been so much better without the pedo romance... I mean the arcade stuff is quite original plus it was entertaining but this is one of the worst "romance" ever obviously

Futile finale. The confession that should’ve been the perfect way to end the anime got interrupted and ruined. As a result, they’re all still just friends, doing the same everyday things they’ve been doing since the very first episode. Goodness gracious, how disappointed I am.

Like, either get Renji and Lily together, or have Lily and Aoi graduate so they can move forward with their lives. But they did NEITHER. I don’t know if we’re getting a second season or not, but I honestly hope we don’t, because while the ride was fun while it lasted, this ending felt like a punch to the face.

A comfy and slow beach episode finale for a comfy anime overall. I ended up liking it based on a few moments here and there that made me laugh like the miscomunications in English, Lily's face after constantly losing games, her father's overreactions among others. I wish the animation wasn't as stale though I understand they probably did what they could with the given resources. Also the ending sequence with the difficulty in Tatsu no Tatsujin varying depending on the character was a really nice touch.

It was ok but with obvious issues. I give 5/10. Not close to being good enough to get a second season.

This is the kind of show that two years from now you’ll forget that you even watched.

Was a fine show, but it really should’ve ended off on a confession since I’m like 90% sure this won’t get a season 2. Lily’s dad was always the highlight in any scene he was in.

Still waiting for a new good loli show, and I guess that wait continues.

your crashouts on this anime have been funny asf to read ngl. This anime just is so blatant about the age gap too. Its still so peak tho

Was decent watch.
People complain about age gap and romance.
There was barely any romance element in this anime other than lily being interested in Renji.

Adaptation from the manga was decent. Still cute and funny.

Some people are complaining about the age gap romance, but 4-5 years is not really that big of a gap though. And besides it's just an anime, we are nearing 2026 and people still losing their sht on fiction lol.

I knew it! From the very begining Lily's dad fucking loves Renji lmao 🤣

Really nice final episode, but sadly that Himari brat had to ruin everything lol

I really REALLY hope this gets a second season, because I can feel the love that was put into it, the art style is cute and the quality is really consistent, for just being "another moe anime" it received a lot of attention, I can tell.

I'll miss this show so much, I like all the characters, specially Aoi, I love her ❤️

I also really liked the english voices, they sound actually good, is not "engrish" at all. The many references not just to specific arcade games but to gaming and it's community in general were great, perfectly mixed with the SoL romance, it felt a bit like watching High Score Girl again but without the HEAVY romance, and that's a great thing!

10/10 from me, I enjoyed it that much 👏🥰❤️
And now I'm sad as fuck 😭

I'll just say it since I've seen many stupid people crying over the "huge" age gap... it's only a 4 years gap (since Lilly had her birthday lol), that's nothing, Renji isn't doing anything ilegal here since they are not even dating, their "confesion" and the entire theme of this episode was about the idea of Lilly loving him untill she can actually be in a relation with him, no matter how long it takes. If you didn't understand that while watching this, I don't know what to tell you, open your eyes maybe?
So, yeah, crying over that is so stupid in this case, also may I remember that like I said Renji, the "old one", hasn't done anything, and that the love feelings come from Lilly, the "kid". People is calling "pedo" a guy that hasn't done shit, but no one is calling the kid "a weirdo" or anything like that for liking a dude older than her huh, that's just funny to me.
Don't go around crying over the little age gap between 2 fictional characters, like if 20+ age gap relationships didn't exist irl lmao, I bet the people saying shit like that have at least 1 memeber of their family that has an age gap of 4 or more with his partner lmao (doesn't matter if he/she is the old or the young one ofc)
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~
Btw, cry about it.

Pretty cute show, the setting got a little boring at times but I liked Lily’s growing friend group. I felt like the romance was only one sided until the final episode, where it heavily insinuated that Renji also had romantic feelings for Lily / that’s how the manga will progress, which, honestly, sucks. Kind of a yucky end to an otherwise fluffy show.

It’s good to see dad finally see Renji for the responsible young man that he is. It was a bit aggravating not being able to see Renji confess his feelings for Lily, but I guess the story continues. Nice and slow wins the race, there’s no need to rush!
