| Round of 64 - VI 1. One Piece ED1 (good vibe with subtle animation fitting the ending theme formula) 2. NANA ED1 (two iconic endings, but I like NANA's more) 3. Saint Seiya ED1 (go go go!) 4. skip (I can't decide) Bakemonogatari ED RIP Nobuo Yamada, the singer of the Saint Seiya ED1 theme song and so many other iconic anisongs. When I submitted "Blue Forever", I never imagined that by the time of the vote, the artist behind it (one of my favorite anisong vocalists) would no longer be with us. :( To be fair, it doesn't matter for me that much whether this particular ending theme wins this match-up or not, even though I'd be glad if it did, obviously. I'm happy that perhaps some more people who didn't listen to it before will listen to it by checking out EDs available during this round. :) As for match-up number 4, I can't decide, really. I see more or less similar amount of pros and cons in both of them. I don't treat it as my definite word on this match-up. ;p I don't rule out the possibility of someone convincing me to actually vote for one of these ending themes, lol. |

I greatly appreciate 'Memories' despite not being a One Piece watcher-- it's a really lovely Anime ED, but 'Hare Hare Yukai' is definitely one of the most iconic EDs in Anime history which easily qualifies it as "Ending Of All Time". Round of 64 - VI 1. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2006) ED1 is simply the more interesting one, especially sung by Aya Hirano, while what the other thingy's done is grating. 2. That granny old shit apparently stands no chance against NANA ED1. 3. Saint Seiya ED1 because the other thing sounds like the singer was running out of breath and getting closer to death. | @WaterMage I agree that the Nadeko variant sounds the best. It'd be unfair to put three versions against one ending theme (Girls Last Tour ED2, to be specific); although I kinda like this Bakemonogatari ED's tune more than before. Maybe hearing these two other versions changed my opinion on it, even if a little, but still enough to pick it. ;p And I can't see anyone supporting Girls Last Tour's ending theme. Okay, my vote goes to Bakemonogatari ED, hehe. |

| 1.) The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya ED 2.) Versailles no Bara ED (as I said last time, if it were NANA's second ED instead then that would be a completely different story as I prefer that one by a substantial amount and it would beat a lot of other EDs and their songs, but alas. I don't feel too badly in this instance though as I do also enjoy the boldly classical style of the Versailles one; seems fitting for a period piece of a series) 3.) Made in Abyss season 2 ED (I've always maintained that Made in Abyss' EDs in general were just decent/passable and never anything exceptional and that includes this one. I actually think that I may prefer the first season one, so overall Made in Abyss ED1, to it. The OPs are not extraordinary either but I've felt them a little better, in the cases of both seasons'. Anyway, all that notwithstanding, it doesn't matter here as the Made in Abyss one still trumps the alternative. Saint Seiya's ED = male vocalist = fact deserving of automatic and immediate demerits) 4.) Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou ED2 (both are coincidentally or not visually very similar with the largely minimalist and heavily black and white aesthetic. Neither song is wonderful, but I would say that I slightly prefer Bakemonogatari's. A little more my style as less fast-paced-seeming frantic/frenetic/manic-esque energy. Still voting for Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou though because that signifies the extent to which I appreciate incorporation of the rough manga sketches of the girls visually and their usage to tell a small story to the beat. Plus it's a Top 50 series for me, so when in doubt that gives another extra edge) |
