Electricity was enough of an asspull, but gravity now? The author is using the words "adolla burst" to asspull any power he wants into the show. it's ridiculous.
And the ending with the devil?? the author needs to end this junk asap
Whats this trash about moving in the past???
cliffhanger ending too

Ah yes, because I love getting interrupted mid-fight to switch to a meaningless scene with Inca and background character #42... like wtf was that. Though, neither were interesting so whatever. I mean, even the less than a minute switch to Yuuichirou finishing off the kaijuu was not only more interesting, but better animated... seriously, who on the staff likes this character this much lol.

Got a bit more lore on Raffles and Amaterasu, which would be fine... in any other episode that isn't the finale. Because whatever the hell I watched that followed was certainly... an experience to say the least. Hate to say it, but they totally nailed the whole creepy and eerie feel they were going for because I got a bit of chills there seeing the photorealism depicting modern day Japan.

Oh wait, that’s seriously how we ended it? Wow, what a finale... God, this season was so fucking bad. I shouldn’t have been so ignorant when the fans told me it’s only downhill from season two. Combined with the slow pacing, trash directing, and poor animation, this made for one of the worst shounen seasons I’ve watched in recent memory

I agree with the criticism but why you need to be so cynical takes away from your points. Why would you “hate” having to make a positive comment about the episodes photorealism. Makes no sense to me anyway

This show can either be really great or really shit. This episode was garbage. Pacing was all over the place... the world building left a lot to be desired (by design, i'm sure) and the overall flow was scattered.
1st scene was irrelevant. Why go into character development for someone new who's powers directly contradict the entire shows... had zero to do with fire. Every other power is, goofy as it seems, fire related. Couldn't be bothered to carry on the theme or is this yet ANOTHER departure from the story. And why are we still doing power vs. power bs when there is major plot to explain. Then it gets to explaining, but sidetracks to even more ridiculousness about time travel. Come on... that's just bullshit. Superman did that in 1977. Sucked then, and it sucks now. As far as any more understanding? Zip zero nada. Not even a cliff hanger in the traditional sense, just I can't be bothered to explain any more so I'll end it here. But don't worry I'll add a whole bunch more shit to confuse it all. That's not suspense. That's 4th quarter overload.
I just want to know what the BIG picture is... stop throwing all this extraneous BS in the mix that has no impact on the story. We already have way too many characters and don't need more 5 min backstories and side arcs and departures that will either never be explained or are irrelevant.

I don't know why it bothers me, but the show's main story is really intriguing. It's mature, dark, scify, religious, and sometimes thrilling plot. It's got me hooked for sure, but all the nonsense that they throw around with it that is basically just extraneous nonsense, i'm assuming to pad out the run time or page count, drives me a bit nuts.
Sorry for ranting, lol. I think i had an Addolah burst vessel in my brain.

@IzanaSolos It had flaws, pacing wise and animation wise till the last 2 ep were the animation amped up a bit. But everything else is just peak 0/10 ragebait, slow pacing, trash directing, and poor animation?? this made for one of the worst shounen seasons youve watched in recent memory??? Just like Blue Exorcist, this series got sequel years later.

But different from Blue Exorcist, I don't understand why I like this series.

The fights are quite boring, especially the Leonardo one. It's just "keep getting stonger" contest while Joker watching in the background. Why Joker didn't help Oubi while Shinra keep Leonardo busy? Is it more important to watch the fight than helping the 8th leader?
Interestingly Shinra now can use blue flame like Blue Exorcist's MC lol.

I feel that another cour can't finish the story, it will be very rushed. Need 2 more cours at least.

Yeah the powers are getting quite weird. The leader girl can brainwash and Shinra can go to the past.

It's not cliffhanger, just a split cour. You can see the preview of next episode in the end.

@IzanaSolos if you didn't like it, why tf did you stick around then.
@Spoof_490 So people have to like everything they watch? Is that how it works? Could it possibly be to a smooth brain like you that maybe, just possibly, the show had something pretty interesting going for it that gets you invested and then in YOUR opinion.... your OWN opinion based on your tastes, likes, and dislikes, you find it lacking. You find it disappointing...you find it taking a direction that leaves you bewildered and frustrated? So You comment on it for various reasons.... to find others who agree... to vent frustration... doesn't matter. It's an open forum. But here's the answer to your big, totally not passive/aggressive smart ass question... We keep watching because we want to see how it ends.
I know ... that's earth shattering. It's higher conscious, supreme enlightenment, next level alien infused intelligence. I don't expect you to get that... i'm just lowering myself to your level so you can receive the blessing of an answer since you took the time to ask the question.
All my BS aside... I get what your saying, but that really is it for me anyway. I want to see how this story plays out because at it's heart its a solid plot, but all the things he complained about I totally feel the same. Don't hate us for criticizing the show... we wouldn't do it if we didn't have an investment in it. But i'm sure you already knew that.

The pacing this season was bad or felt too slow to some because the 24 episode 1st season covered 90 chapters, and the 24 episode 2nd season covered 84 chapters (with no breaks between cours btw). This first part of S3 covered about 42 chapters (par for the course for 12 episodes btw) so of course it's going to feel slower. I'll admit that sure the directing and flow felt a bit off at times but for Christ's sake can MAL stop being so overdramatic for once 😂😂😂😂 for perspective, 43 chapters were adapted through the first 12 episodes of S1 so yeah, this is standard pacing. And the claim that it's downhill for this series after season 2 has to be bullshit lol because some of the best this series has to offer is still yet to come. Mfs really just be fucking saying whatever LMFAO.

Anywho, the pre-Great Cataclysm part was what I've been waiting to see adapted this whole cour, and where I figured they would end things, and my god they cooked. So yeah, before the Great Cataclysm their world was just regular Japan. This caught me so off guard in the manga, seeing real-world people being depicted and I'm glad they basically ripped it straight from the manga. Definitely one of the most creative things I've seen a series do.

Now to wait for the next cour, which, with 80-something chapters left, won't be enough to wrap things up unless they rush the shit out of it. Which, if that was the plan, they would have started the rushing in this cour. So maybe we'll get a 4th and final 12 episode season after 🤞
@thebrentinator24 What you're saying seems pretty logical to me, given the numbers. However, this season had something that made it feel quite slow and dragged out.
It's as if they'd added filler to everything, and the combat sequences, instead of being explored and extended, all of them felt quite short-budget, so stiffy in general. Shinra's battle with Burns could have been definitely better, and the battle with the infernal colossus was cringeworthy with its static CGI and the fixed stares at every second that cut out the action. The best animated part was undoubtedly the encounter with Dragon, but that wasn't a typical fight, but a crushing defeat for Arthur.
But it's also partly due to the source material, the pre-Great Cataclysm was not characterized by having bloody battles or action sequences like previous arcs.

The last moments of this ep shows how the show connects to reality like the ones from Evangelion Rebuild. I gotta say, it is an good Ep, only to be stopped at cliffhanger. Usually, when Anime chose to do cliffhangers often a bad anime. But this show, it is an satisfying and foreshadowing episode. Gotta look towards the future then. 10/10

Not gonna lie, the pacing felt weird for a finale, but the lore drop was insane. That final montage gave me chills pure artistic power. I get why some people felt underwhelmed, especially after some really strong episodes earlier, but I see this more as a setup for the chaos that’s coming. If this was the “calm before the storm,” then season 4 better come swinging. Also, blond Shinra is wild.

This is probably supposed to be consecutive cours but they ultimately delayed it, notice how casual the preview for EP 13 is

Overall this season was fine, If im comparing it to the first 2 then it was trash. But just in general it was fine, nothing crazy it was just okay.

No, Shinra went back to past before the Great Cataclysm happened and got confused by how the people of past look because the world used to look like our real life world. After the Great Cataclysm happened the world of imagination began and everyone look like anime characters. In other worlds the world went from a live action to anime.

Seems like next season we will enter the past, basically Tokyo of today. Time travels are always a bit iffy in anime, so it will be interesting to see how they handle it.

@IzanaSolos

As someone who enjoyed seasons 1 & 2, I have to agree with you. I often finished episodes thinking to myself “that’s it?” I genuinely enjoyed the fights between Shinra and Captain Burns, Arthur and Dragon, and the squad against Gold. The final episode’s Evangelion-esque photo realistic scene was shocking and left me feeling unnerved. But between those fights and that ending felt like a whole lot of nothing. I understand that it’s set-up for the second part but the pacing felt off. I’m really not a big fan of splitting seasons into two parts, but it’s the norm nowadays.

I’m looking forward to the second part nonetheless but this season definitely felt like the weakest.

I'll just copy paste the same shit I said yesterday:
Streets won’t forget Spring 2025 as the season where the top 3 most popular shows went head-to-head each week to see which one could be more boring.
P.S. This one was the winner.
@IzanaSolos Your entire comment was cringe af bud 😭😭✌

@IzanaSolos I don't know what's funnier, you watching the entire season till the end even tho you didn't like it, and now are crying over it, or the fact you have the audacity, the absolute chutzpah to say stuff like that while being a Shiunji-ke no Kodomotachi fan.
Either way, you are hilarious af lmao

@joemaamah dude, if you are that fucking braindead to think the animation was "bad" you should never watch anime again. you are a disgrace. imagine hating on masterful work of animators, who likely spent weeks to create it.. and, the animation WAS incredible, it was done perfectly. holy shit.

I mean, he ain't that wrong. This season's animation was indeed not that good compared to S1 and S2. Even the sound designs were quite off and those are David Production's specialty. I'm saying this even though I really enjoyed the first 2 seasons.

Feels like you either skipped both S1 and S2 or you are just trolling at this point.
