| The situation with Maomao, her foster father, and the pregnancy thing seems more complex than it looks now. She went detective mode to get to the truth. Not going to lie, I like the mystery vibe they added to the season. It appears the past repeats itself here in the present. |

| Man it’s good to see Luomen isn’t getting treated unfairly because of his history this time around. A part of the reason goes to Maomao and how she built her reputation among everyone, but yeah, it has to do with his smarts as well. When all is said and done, he’s still the best doctor around, who actually knows what he’s doing. Like for instance, the warning slogan he prepared for the folks living in the rear palace. The ladies working there may not be all educated but yeah, if told not to do something, at least they’d refrain themselves from doing that thing. Talking about ladies there, again a very interesting perspective over how all of those past incidents around miscarriage and whatnot might have something to do with these old ladies working in the clinic. You see, they’ve a genuine reason too if we put a thought or two, I mean once they had their whole lives in front of them and then all of a sudden all of it got stolen away when they got recruited in the inner palace. Their hate for those who managed to get a meaning out of their life in the inner palace may seem really unjustifiable, but it AIN’T. Anyway, you know Maomao realized it all and then… … whatever happened is what she fears the most. GETTING IN TROUBLE LMAOOO. Suirei did an UNDERTAKER and yeah, she’s back and gave Maomao the worst bait ever… EVER. Can't believe Maomao got herself kidnapped lol. Really, this is what I was waiting for. All of that stuff which seemed not-so-necessary till now, will make sense out of nowhere. CAN'T WAIT. Btw, good to see Ah-duo back:) |

| Holy fuck this episode went from 0-100 REAL QUICK. Shaping up to be another incredible Kusuriya arc. First of all it’s really dope to see both Maomao’s fathers getting some shine in this one. Luomen returning to the rear palace and getting the respect he deserves. At first I thought he was just being a Good Samaritan trying to help the servants and staff learn to read, but I never would’ve guessed it would’ve all tied back to the abortion medicine plotline from earlier in the season! Servants could be used to pass along abortion medicine recipes and if they can’t read they’d never even know! Lady Shin, the caravan, it all makes sense now. I honestly understand why Shenlü and the other clinic ladies would be so bitter towards the world. Most of them were brought to the palace as little kids, raped by the emperor and then tossed aside and prevented from leaving just because he’d touched them. We already knew the pedo went for underage concubines, but knowing he was taking advantage of even non concubines just makes me feel even LESS sympathy for what Anshi did to em 🤷🏾♂️ But wtf was that twist!! Suirei is still around?!! And again where tf does Shisui keep spawning from 😭 normally it’s funny for comedic relief, but I swear she showed up out of nowhere in that clinic and this time it got her in some real danger!! Couldn’t help but laugh when Suirei bribed Maomao with learning the resurrection medicine recipe to get her to come quietly lmao Laken back on my screen finally! So he’s totally onto Shishou being in on the Jinshi assassination plot and it seems like he knows Shishou is color blind as well. Does that mean Shishou is related to the founder’s family since they had that color blind trait we learned about during the puzzle game? 🤔 at any rate, can’t wait to see what comes of that and congrats to he and Maomao’s mother on their wedding!! They deserve it sm Can’t wait to see how Jinshi comes to save Maomao next ep. You better get your girl! |

| Maomao unravels the mysteries, but it comes at a cost... This felt like a setup episode for some more serious things to come, as Maomao tried to figure out the reasons behind Lihua's miscarriage, and it looked like she figured it all out. Unfortunately for her, Suirei was waiting to bait her into learning about the resurrection medicine. Again, it's really nice how this series ties in past events to what is happening now, as it makes each mystery feel important in some way, even if it didn't feel like it initially. The returns of Luomen, Suirei, and Ah-Duo are sure to bring some tense moments in the rear palace, and for the fate of Maomao as well. These episodes feel too short! |

| I think I have lots of things to say, First YAY~! Luomen! He was sorta one of my fave character, I feel like he's INFP-ish (If anyone knows what that means) 2nd... so Quack's Doctor's name is Guen? Not sure if that was dropped from past episodes but it felt funny to just know now when Luomen calls/addresses him. 3rd This episode went quick, like the pacing felt quick and I feel sort of worried. Hopefully it doesn't rush everything or at least it doesn't feel like it was rushed. 4th Lakan the doting husband was ssoooo funny xD sorta "wholesome"... man I just love unhinged crazy weird characters. 5th I hope more interaction with Guen and Luomen, like I was imagining maybe Luomen would teach Guen to be a proper Doctor. But with how the pace went this episode and the main arc plot being delved into, not sure we'll get that. But *shrug* imma just imagine maybe it happens. I feel like most important point I wanted to make was, how the episode, even tho still good, felt a bit fast. Really hope this sticks the landing with the last episode. |

There was alot to unpack during this episode and even more mysteries were added, I'm so confused but I love it :} It was cool to see Luomen's impact on some of the older residents of the rear palace and also how Larken knows something is going on with the Jinshi assassination attempt a few episodes ago (good episode for Maomao's dads). Can't wait for next weeks episode and find out where Maomao and Shisui are heading and for what reasons? |

leads me to believe he has the blood of the emeperor lineage (due to the colorblindness being passed down to the heirs in the royal family and at some point mao mao specified they struggle to differentiate reds from greens, doesn't sound like a coincidence) could the political guy be planning to kvertrow the current emperor?
lakan caught it up easily, if maomao or jinshi were present I'm sure they would too

| @Alex_the_reaper Actually, remember that the colorblindness was referenced as being 'more common in the west'. Tanuki's colorblindness may not be suggesting that he's of the ROYAL bloodline, but that his family is connected to the west, thus creating a potential connection between him and the assassins. That was my takeaway from the scene, anyways. |

| Holy shit, now this is what I've been waiting for. We are finally seeing the whole picture of the mystery surrounding the rear palace since the first season. The new eunach was Suirei after all. I was wondering what if the body injury was from the drug that let her pretend to be dead back last season and yep it was. No idea why people are surrised about her return though when it was literally explained last season. Now that Maomao mentioned it Shisui having books or writing paper is indeed suspicious cause those are valuble things which she shouldn't be able to afford. So my gut feeling about Shisui being Loulan seems more and more probable. Curious about the meeting with Lakan. He definitely found out something and Shishou failing the grape juice test was the confirmation he was looking for. Ah Duo was still here yo! Pretending to be the crown prince/Jinshi to boot. So happy to see her. RIP Maomao though. |

| I feel like the action is rushing. Everything is happening so fast.I'm not a fan of the kidnapping motif, especially Mao, because Jinshi and the rest will make mega dramas. Well, we'll see how it goes. Suirei finally showed herself. That she was the "pretty" eunuch was pretty obvious, just from her looks. Not to mention other clues. Now just let them reveal that Shisui is L. And I can consider myself a detective lol. But seriously, in this series, people are constantly pretending to be someone they are not, hiding or changing their appearance, so it's really hard to be surprised. |
| Wow, what an episode! So much has happened and so many questions have arisen in such a short time. Loumen came on strong, influencing everyone around him. No wonder Maomao considers him the best doctor in the country and one of the smartest people. So that old doctor was the one who gave Shin the prescription to poison Lihua? Honestly, I thought she was trustworthy, but now it turns out she's in league with Suirei? Suirei's appearance was chilling. What was Shisui's intention with that book? She's always been a bit weird, but I doubt she's on Suirei's side. Lakan is hilarious when he talks about his wife, but if you cross him, you're lost. He's incredibly sharp, even when dealing with someone as influential as Shishou, who doesn't seem to intimidate him at all. I didn't get it, Shishou has a connection to the imperial family...he's colorblind, so it's possible that he did try to have Jinshi killed. And it can no longer be denied is his mother: Ah-Duo could easily pass for Jinshi; she could replace him without anyone noticing! Now that Maomao has been kidnapped, Jinshi will go after her. But as soon as Lakan or Loumen find out about her kidnapping, the kidnappers better call for divine intervention, because no one will be able to stop them. What an incredible episode! |

| Wait, what?? Everything happened way too fast. The episode started with Maomao's dad writing up notes, then suddenly, a possible mastermind behind Shin's abortion attempt, and Suirei just walks in the door, with a hostage, no less. And the power players digging into the assassination attempt and the muskets? AND Ah-duo's reappearance? It's like we skipped like 4 episodes and then crammed 3 episodes into one. I'm glad the show's moving along, but this pace feels a little busted. |

| Shit this was intense...what an episode man. Just when I was thought Maomao is jumping the gun with her hochpoch theory. All of it was proven right. I had some sympathy for previous Emperor for his mental condition but each episode more of his scandel coming to light it's getting harder to do so. Because of his actions all of the court ladies is poisoning th rear palace for years and innocent childrens are dying. This ladies are not clean but there resentment is rightly placed. And I knew that Eunuch was Suirei. Well Maomao is a goner now. Upto Jinshi now to save his frog princess. Looking forward to the aftermath how everyone reacts to it. But Lakan came back finally. Let's go. Already exposed lots of secrets of Shisou. He is from that foreign family line which is keeping the bloodline "pure" now that's here his daughter comes to purify it again? Lakan antics is now fun fully knowing he is not the "bad guy". The way he yapped about his wife and Maomao's mother was cute ngl. And Ah Duo came back to..Damn we ate so good. She is impersonating her son, damn unreal beauty in this genes. |

| Another great set up ep Ah Duo the queen and Suirei the immortal are back Suirei getting straight to business never surprised me but what does she want with Maomao? | Nice episode. The anime explains everything much better than the manga, I realised a couple of things that I haven't when I read it. two more episodes and we will probably be ahead of the manga. it'll be nice to finally see if the anime can hold it's quality without the manga as a support for visuals. |
