@tchitchouan If you think about it, a fair amount of sexual content has always been a constitutional part of the medium. So it could be argued that it is a sanitized, family-friendly, Disney-style anime that could actually be called "degenerate".
@Tirinchas I would agree with that, given that Osamu Tezuka -the father of manga and anime- created anime as a counterpart to disney's sanitized style. Thus dealing with mature, sensitive, controversial and sexual subjects in many of his works. Thus "degeneracy" has always been part of anime's DNA from the very beginning.  |
