Otherwise you get kicked out or become an undocumented immigrant. Some countries let you in on ancestry but most are limited to just parents born there not grandparents these days. |

Unless you are a refugee, many countries do want you to assure them that you will not need assistance. For example, I am studying moving to the UK (Maybe some time in the future) and it seems that without wealth, I will need to get a job willing to vouch for me. There are some easier exceptions, like if you are student, but it is something that requires much more thought and planning than actual money is what I am getting from people who moved to another country. That, or enough wealth that you can conceivably support yourself anyway. It is not really that expensive to live or move overseas it seems, but if you have a family or trying to stay permanently? Probably a lot of money and things to consider. (But to add on, you should save quite a bit of money if you want to move. You'll likely won't be able to access your support network overseas, so yeah) |

| @traed Starting an own firm is a good idea, I can only encourage this mindset. But you can really move as a hire, just find a job remotely and apply for work visa, thanks to the Internet. Even easier for foreign students (assuming their parents are willing to pay some little entry fee): I think my country offers quite decent accommodation and language crash course to foreign students for as little as 1-2k or so. Might be problematic for 3rd world applicants, but not for mighty americans. |

I mean, let's not downplay that, it is the second biggest overall obstacle depending on where you go after a job. I imagine for some countries, moving without a transferrable skill will make things more difficult, same if you have a physical disability. I am fortunate to be highly educated enough, but my biggest issue is that many PhD programs in the UK do not have integrated masters, which are neither free here or there (My main reason to move, to be honest). So technically considering my reason, it would cost 50k-200k to move to the UK in my case, technically. But I do think this is seriously downplaying it, depending on the nation. But are you not forced to move to nowhere You kind of have to be, depending on what you want to do, to be honest. I want to be a researcher, but most of the best researcher are still in urban areas that are more expensive than anywhere else. Korea has Seoul, which is judiciously expensive and is so highly concentrated it is straight up strangling the rest of Korea (Compare this to Tokyo, which is much, MUCH cheaper in terms of rent compared to London, NYC, Seoul, hell even Boston). Most Korean try to live near Seoul because all the jobs, networking, and education, are there. I guess if you just want to move and you don't care what you do, then yeah, it is easier, but I think that is a somewhat silly mindset to be when moving. I was thinking of actually moving to Germany too, but Tokyo has really cheap apartments in a very safe country. I am flabbergasted. You also have to deal with a new government and its bureaucracy, and depending on where you are from they will scrutinize you more; US and UK are pretty good places to be from than a third or developing country, even if you have skills. Another huge headache. |

That is actually one of the least likely ways to get in somewhere. Everything has always been hopeless for me and it's past point of even mattering where i dont have motivations (unrelated to topic) i did in past feel as hopeful.
