| Well, I do hope Cefiro becomes more relevant in this arc/season. She did get more time this episode but feels kinda like a third wheel compared to Dairokuten. Lot of action this episode. This anime also continues to test his feelings in regards to being a demon and human. Also, this episode seems to also push what he should be aiming for as a goal between humans and demons. Up to this point, it didn't feel like he Dairokuten had any sort of endgame plans in that world. Now he set one on hs mind. |

| Basteo may have lost the battle, but the war to become the new Demon Lord is just beginning. Ike is now seen as the fool in Basteo's eyes, though he has the magic capability to back himself up and defeat the former. But with Basteo being a dullahan, the leader of the Undying Brigade proves even harder to control against an undead army. He needs a strategy, and that's where Cefiro and the others back him up to alleviate the pack. With Dairokuten giving Basteo one more chance to duel Ike, with the one sole thing that separates him from the rest: white magic, since he's a human at heart while portraying as a demon whose skills are learnt from Romberg, it's no reason for Dairokuten to be surprised at Ike being human. With the commander of the 3rd Corps defeated, Ike has to assume responsibility for yet another group, aside from Cefiro being completely surprised at Ike letting Dairokuten know his true traits and having Ivalias be the first town to have the co-existence between demons and humans, he chooses to remain under Cefiro for that regard. Everything is going as per what Ike wanted: a world where two halves make a right. It's getting there... |

| Good episode, I want to know more about the demon lord and what her aspirations are...the episode was called "ambition" after all. Ike finally showed her his true face but she didn't seem surprised, maybe she wants the same thing? |

| The demon lord already knew that Ike was a human since in a previous episode she appeared after Ike had bathed and told him that Romberg told her that fact after he panicked for a minute. So on that note Ike should've said that to Cefiro to calm her down. Anyway, I think the demon lord wanted Basteo to fight Ike to see how Ike would defeat him and Ike ended up using white magic for better or worse. |
| I expected this to be crap but honestly, its a good watch. The characters all have good personalities, the fights are good, and MC is reasonable. Not too OP, not weak, and has a solid head on his shoulders, even in front of his superiors If it continues being good, it'll be a solid 7.8/10. Loli demon lords are always great. Don't tell Kris Tyson I said that though LoL The succubi are also pretty cute, the butt attack was hilarious |

| but he can learn black magic? What does that mean is white magic means you have a fairly pure heart? All we know is the demon lord is very powerful, it's honestly possible she can learn white magic as well, or at a minimum, counter it, as her goals also appear to be to get more power, utilizing Ike is the best way to do that. What's more powerful than being strong AND ruling over all humans AND demons. So Ike is not just a tactician, but a Brigade Commander + level threat. Cefiro, I'm happy to see her mad, she's too much. The fact she's so attached to Ike she willing to fight the Demon Lord, and clearly mad about not being the only one in on the secret LOL. In the town, it's clear that demons are in-fact capable of humane existence. Having peers and mutual advancing interactions is a form of power. 3/5, felt like took to long, fight kind of dumb overall and stupid, and animation LOL I haven't rated this anime yet, but I'm teetering between 5/10 and 6/10 (because I am enjoying) |

| This was.. actually an amazing episode? Been critical of this show having a Yamamoto Kohta OST and OP but this episode actually lived up to it. Really satisfying conclusion to the battle with Ike and Basteo and respect to Ike for standing up to the demon lord and speaking his mind about his vision of the future. Figured the demon lord survived, but when she came back and still was willing to give Basteo a fair duel against Ike it threw me for a loop lmao. This dude tried killing her and everyone in attendance 😭 but I guess she wanted to see Ike’s true abilities particularly his white magic? They’re making her feel so mysterious and I really wanna know what her motivations are! The flashback to Ike and his grandpa with that Yamamoto OST was so good. But I’m confused how Ike’s grandpa could teach him about white magic if demons couldn’t use it? Flashback cut before they showed everything so did he just teach him the basics or can demons who learn to have a “human heart” access white magic? This was probably the most emotional we’ve seen Cefiro as well! She really didn’t want to lose Ike to the brigade leadership position.. and the demon lord showed no real shock at Ike’s goal of a world where demons and humans can live in peace. I wonder if that’s her actual goal. She seems like a decent enough person. Real story should get going now. Excited for the next one |

| The fight against Basteo could have been wrapped up in less time, but at least everything is resolved now. The aspect of white magic was interesting. It was a good decision for Ike to decline the position of commander of the 3rd squadron since, if his dream is a world where demons and humans coexist, he should focus on the progress he’s already making in the village he’s leading. The best part of the episode, without a doubt, was the soundtrack. |

| i knew the demon lord didn't keel over from that explosion. she's supposed to be the strongest amongst all demons, so she knew how to escape such attempt on her life. cefiro's confused that ike was comfortable enough to reveal his true identity to the demon lord; little does she know that the demon lord already knew ike was human & even visited him in his quarters before he faced off against basteo. i think she also expected ike to turn down her offer of him taking over as leader after he defeated basteo. |

| Ike the Tactician let his shield puppets get killed before doing anything and here he lets the Demon Lord's loyal soldiers get killed before he does anything. He seems really bad at this! The fight between him and Basteo was surprisingly dull and poorly done until the white magic reveal. That was pretty cool looking and had some nice impact, although to be honest the flashback was confusing. Demon Pappy says demons can't use white magic, but the show still kind of acts like he taught Ike? Maybe it's something he could teach the concept of despite not being able to personally do it. Really muddled. Also during the fight I couldn't help but notice Ike dodged dozens of arrows coming at him from behind but a couple episodes ago he got sniped by one lone goblin from behind. Loved Cefiro getting so upset and territorial over losing Ike. She remains the MVP of the show. |

| What is wrong with the demon lord? The guy betrays her back to back, yet she still keen on giving him more chances. Even though he still lost, what example does it make for others? Oh, I can betray her and still have chance? Also the fact that she's making Ike fight instead of his commander, it's her duel mind you. Why does Ike need to risk his life? In the pawn-commander game, she was the only one risking his life, Ike was safe. Anyway very dumb episode |

| It's very clear to me now that Lilith is best girl. Makes sense why those goblins lost to her, anyone would if all that bunda was in your face ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) And yeah, ofc Ike won the duel in the end, why wouldn't he have. Gonna be interesting to see how Ike continues to grow this town he made or whatever like they do in Slime. |
