| From the start, you would be convinced that this would become the boring usual school life until things seem to get interesting even from my standpoint when things changed for Hori it bloomed it's personality Well I didn't expect Miyamura to be like this but I'm glad we see this side of his personality and Hori's as well she's so hardworking and oh the comedy is just well fitting and I especially like when their faces change out of blue and turns chibi like that in a snap this is going to be good the first episode surprised and entertained me so far. |

| After watching the first episode, here is my overall opinion: what kind of terrible tarnation did I just witnessed? My true intention in my opinion is to express how this anime would have never started or could have been entirely different. Since I have a strong and intense dislike for this anime, I will go all out and not hold back. Below, I have written some possible scenarios on how this anime would have never started or been completely different. I will only consider the perspectives of both the main male protagonist and the main female protagonist (I will temporarily trade places with them). My strengths are possessing a high degree of psychological instincts and fast physical reflexes. My weaknesses are my lackluster foreign language skills and strong disinterest in economic topics. From Izumi Miyamura’s perspective: Possible Outcome 1: I see Kyouko chatting with her friends. I enjoy reading the contents of an interesting magical battle fantasy novel. Instead of reading this good book in a typical classroom, I immediately walk out of the classroom and go to the library. As a result, I never interacted with Kyouko and company. Thus, this anime ends very quickly. Possible Outcome 2: I realize wearing piercings and body tattoos does not grant any significant degree of non-monetary profit. I finally stopped wearing piercings and had a professional tattoo artist successfully remove the tattoos on my body. While I was walking around the supermarket district, I saw Kyouko walking home with her little brother. However, I decided to walk the other way around and prevented them from seeing me. As a result, I never interacted with her little brother. Thus, this low-tier anime ends very quickly. From Kyouko Hori’s perspective: Possible Outcome 1: I convince my friends to not talk negatively about our homeroom teacher and change the topic of our conversation to something else. I tell them I have some chores around the house. Thus, I traveled home early to pick up my little brother and never made social interaction with the black-haired dude. Possible Outcome 2: Since I am a smart person who tries to get some interpersonal profit by making more friends, I decided not to start an argument with Izumi about love is this and love is that (do not be stupid to argue over small things). I convinced Izumi to enter a platonic friendship with me. Thus, we do not become a couple and this anime ends very differently. |

| Bit late to the party but after waiting long time they finally release a HoriMiya adaptation (ignoring the 2012 ona). Quite fastpaced especially how they got so close in the span of 5 minutes but I like the don't judge a book by its cover aspect so far with the 'secret selves' of both Hori and Miyamura. |
| I'm like super late with post and i know i am but i still wanted to express my comment on it. I didn't know actually what i was getting in to when i started this anime, I thought it would be boring and i am fair in that but after watching it my opinion turned otherwise, Its like they flipped the tables on me. Izumi starts with being an gloomy person as people addressed him in his school, he always sat alone at his school desk with nobody around him, until Hori dropped something on the ground and Izumi picked it up for her, at that point something already began to click between them, Izumi took Hori's little brother to home but Hori didn't even realize at first that it was Izumi which was kinda funny. The animation looked really good and the art-style as well, even the funny parts got me and i knew i was in for a ride. |

| Rewatching this and yeah, definitely weaker first impressions than the first time I saw this, and that time I was mixed already. Did not like Ishikawa at all as he revealed everything about his talk with Miyamura while he went to confess to Hori. Miyamura might have had negative impressions of himself and his relationship with Hori, but that does not mean that Ishikawa should blurt it all out to her during a genuine 'confession'. That irritated me a lot. Still find the pacing to be absurdly fast, still hate the white backgrounds and colored shadows a lot in this series and how overused and meaningless they come across in this adaptation. |

NGL, I'm literally only aware of this anime's existence from this obscenely cute screenshot, and nothing else, so I had no idea what to expect. I don't even know when it's happening, or where, I just know it's from this series. So far, it's really fun. Every single character, guy or gal, they're all super cutely written, and none of the jokes missed their mark. I can already tell exactly why people love this anime so much, just from this first episode alone. That end of episode moment too, the mood whiplash was super well executed. |

| still just as good as the first time i watched the first episode while also refreshing myself. also Hori shares the same voice actress as Asuna (Haruka Tomatsu), which is so good. Miyamura jumping over that fence to run to the market to get the eggs on sale was badass. Sota really likes Miyamura and called him "that cool dude". That one conversation where Hori and Miyamura complimented each other about their different sides of themselves cute and hilarous especially with Hori just calling him a dummy multiple times. There was a little serious bit where Hori did not want Miyamura to stop coming over and doesn't want him to ever think he is bringing down her reputation. Loved the facial expressions in this episode too. |
