| Sousou no Frieren is an exceptional anime, but whether it's the best is really just a matter of personal preference. You've got some people in the community hating on it just cause it's holding number 1 spot on MAL, but honestly, I think that's just plain stupidity. If it's up there, it's 'cause the majority thinks it's the best. You've got all these people saying, "It's overrated" or "I'm gonna hate it" before they even give it a chance. And then, when they actually watch it, they're just hunting for its flaws instead of giving credit where it's due. No matter how great an anime is, if you are determined to hate it, you'll always find reasons to hate it. Sousou no Frieren is great, with both its strengths and weaknesses, and it totally deserves all the hype and attention it's getting. |

| I don't hate it but personally I don't think it's the greatest anime from last year, let alone the greatest of all time according to some charts and people. Plus some people just like to hate on the current popular thing to feel special or whatever. so there's a lot of that too. |

| Cause people are idiots and think going against whats popular makes them smart. Its fine to dislike popular or highly aclaimed shows, but when you do it for the sake of doing it, or have a "all popular shows suck" mentality, you're just dumb. There is also this trend of people going with "this is shit" instead of "i don't like it". Which happens when people don't understand their own bias. I can tell you that i do not like demon slayer, but i will not tell you its a bad show. I fucking love date a live, but I won't call it better than mid-ok. But most people can't seperate their prefrence from their critical opinion. which normally leads to some of the dumbest takes you will ever see. |

| It's by far the #1 anime on MAL by absolute miles. You are hearing a very minor vocal minority. Even if this was a series I disliked and I made a thread about it, that's only one among many, many people ratio-wise so doesn't matter at all. I know friends that don't enjoy the characters and the pace of the series much and even then, minority opinion and I can see where they are coming from but a lot of people have had different experiences with it that seem more positive. |
