The music and animation are out of this damn world. I'm not particularly fond of Ubel, but it's still nice to get some background on her and a bit more of explanation on the magic system. Watching the mages fight is a delight, and their struggle at the end raises the feeling of stakes a lot. The ending, tho, is EVEN BETTER. We don't know how many times has Frieren been forced to resort to that, but we can assume NOT MANY, and the last time was against the Demon King itself. Also, judging by the dialogue at the beginning, it is quite likely that it has only happened two times in her whole life. What an incredible fight

Lmao you didn't even read the whole context and start insulting people without knowing why i made this post.
Read my earlier post in page 2 dude before you insult me dude. I criticized about the flashy and over-the-top visual change the context of the story.
I already talked about how this adaptation change the whole premise of the story because they make Frieren too op.
You said magic resistance yet adaptation gives her a Golem = controlling huge physical mass like earth magic = can break through magic resistance.
Also she can basically block anything with defense magic. (only Frieren though)

You not only don't understand the series because you didn't try to compare the 2 and see how the adaptation change the context, you also don't read either and have low understanding skill of what people are talking about.

@Ventus_S Do you really think a Golem can stall Dragon for 30s? Sure Frieren could make a small golem break dance but a big golem like that must be heavier to control moereover it just made with stone, like as if a Dragon can't destroy a stone with a single slam. There's also the fact that she need time to cast magic, we are shown in manga how Frieren is so powerless against enemy who is fast enough to attack her without giving her chance to cast magic (which is also the reason Frieren believe that Fern can kill her because Fern can cast magic faster than her). Even in this fight against Frieren clone we are shown how Fern disturb Frieren clone from casting magic multiple times.

Basic defense magic isn't that strong against physical force, this was already explained many episodes ago.

You must understand the people behind this anime aren't idiots, they must've been consult to the author when they want to add something original that isn't in the manga. In short you are simply not trying to find the logic behind it. Before criticize something you might want to think again and see the flaws in your logic, if you can't find it then that is your flaw.

Fantastic episode!
I wonder what's in the minds of those who hate this anime. "Oh this show is top 1, I should hate on it" That kind of stuff? Anyway, this is just my rant.
I haven't enjoyed this much watching an anime for a while.

So, at this point we all know Frieren is one of the best if not, for some, the best fantasy anime of all time.
But I can't emphasize it enough, to the point I felt obligated to write this, Frieren beyond journey's end is THE BEST apaptation we recieved of all manga and it will probably stay in this position for a long time!
The extra scenes, music, choreography, colors, ambience, animation, voice acting, art direction... every single thing is spot on! They just don't miss!
But you know, if it was just the 1° episode as in Oshi no ko or if it would have like 5 or even 10 perfect episodes ike in Mushoku Tensei I would be completely satisfied, HOWEVER Mad House, as the goat of a studio they are, DEMOLISHES my expectations surpassing them EVERY SINGLE EPISODE.

To be fair, this is a slice of life, ok, so not every episode has a banger fight scene or a really heavy animation sequence we know that. But in every single episode, every sequence I can see the amount of passion and effort they're putting into that. Even a damn dance scene of two panels... TWO PANELS! Was adapted to that beautiful scene we all had the opportunity to dazzle.

I am SO GLAD to have the privilege to watch this and I can only hope next season will be as good or, if by a miracle, better!? Than the first one. At this point I cant put a limit to how high Mad House will go, I have my trust in them waiting for another 10/10 adaptation next season!

Thought I shoud leave one of my favorite frames of this episode, maybe the entire series, have you seen a COLDER glare?? °_°

I personnally prefer Frieren. Of course it's two different style, JJK animation feels more raw and overwhelming while in Frieren it is more polished and consistent. And if you think about the conditions JJk was made it makes sense.

perfect title since this episode was PEAK fiction.
Frieren is the GOAT. ngl I wanted to see at least a bit of Fern replica vs Methode. I think that wouldve been interesting.

I read it hence why I think your comment is nonsense. my comment about physic attack can break through defense was actually display in this episode. the black hole was create to launch the rubble into frieren. but of course it miss. and what makes you think frieren can block anything ? her defence is not unpenetrated. if the attack was really strong, even frieren can't block it. what a nonsense comment

@33orion77 I'd argue their both have their bigger strengths in the different areas they decided to focus.
Frieren just happens to have an impeccable record when it comes to polishing battles despite them not even being a major element, it's kinda funny to think about it when Jujutsu had weeks of breaks and still fell apart in production haha

This anime is very good, and I thought from the actions scenes early on that they also knew what they were doing regarding that. Frankly, the directing for the episodes which are mostly slice of life is flawless. I feel that the directing for action sequences is not anywhere near as good, especially compared to how a lot of the earlier action sequence (for example, Stark vs the Dragon) were done. The animation is obviously good, but the direction seems to be falling. The sequences are too short, and the dialogue inbetween each 'impactful' moment is to be frank sometimes unecessary. Halve the amount of words preceding Ubel's victory over Sense and it hits so much harder. The writers should trust that the audience will understand what is happening, which they do earlier on in the show, but it seems that a lot of unfinished script drafts are being used. If it seems like harsh criticism, it's because otherwise Frieren is that good. From the work earlier in the show I know for a fact that the action sequences could have been on par with those in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, but alas.
