Pain Kaisen has been off the station and will not stop anytime soon going forward. Just enjoy the things and characters in the series for whatever time they're on here otherwise you won't even realize when they're gone. Such is the story of Kento Nanami. It is finally time to let him rest for good after he's been so heavily overworked all this time. One of the fan favorites and probably relatable to a lot of people. Rest in Peace.

Mahito is such a menace. He's gonna create so many problems for all of them in Shibuya. Gotta take him under control before it's too late. Felt incredibly sad for Itadori in this entire episode. Mahito vs Itadori was incredible. A beautiful episode, got a little bit emotional. Nobara is here. The next episode should be another amazing one.

Anyone would instantly know something horrible was about to go down… with Nanami, after the very first minutes of this episode when they started showing Nanami’s vision of an ideal life. Though hey, as if it wasn’t really obvious after the last episode itself:(

Man was already aware he was in his last breaths when he was battling Mahito’s transfigured creatures, but why do they need to insert Nanami’s ideal vision plus that music in between, I mean if anything the eventual death felt all more heartbreaking here, as compared to what it was in the manga. A good job upon expanding the content, but Nanami’s death still hurts.

“You've got it from here”, were Nanami’s last words, and to be honest, the “already broken down” Itadori felt even more miserable with his screams. Props to his VA, as I mean the kind of state Itadori is in right now, you might expect he’d charge blindly, but he seemed a lot more calculating and “stable” from the very first minute he attacked Mahito. This is his first “proper” fight after a long while too, and to be honest Mappa was fine enough, at the very least better than what we had during the grasshopper’s fight.

Smh to those two guys who were roaming during this mess, I mean they made Itadori’s job a lot tougher. But it is what it is, also he split himself, so one clone might be fighting with Itadori but the other one is with Nobara. Just the worst, right??

RIP Nanami. He shouldn't have seen that fate, but it is what this arc is about after all.

ALSO PLEASE STOP SOUNDING SO SLAP-HAPPY IN EVERY NEXT EPISODE PREVIEW. WE LITERALLY HAVE PEOPLE DYING IN SAID EPISODES.

"You've got it from here." Fuck man. I'll miss you Nanami.

Sukuna laid waste to the city of Shibuya, claiming numerous lives and overpowering Fushiguro's shikigami. When Yuji regains consciousness, he witnesses the dire aftermath. With a resolute yet forlorn expression, Yuji moves forward like a specter. Meanwhile, Nanami, fatigued and disoriented, persists in exorcising the horde of transfigured individuals. In the midst of this, Mahito emerges, and as Yuji approaches, Nanami imparts his final words before meeting his demise.

The strategic buildup and payoff within a single episode showcased the creators' brilliance. It was efficiently executed, with Nanami staying true to his character even in his final moments—prioritizing getting the job done. Kudos to the creators for this. Yuji's restrained emotional response to Nanami's death is admirable; he maintains Nanami's faith in him as motivation. Even Mahito's manipulative use of the Junpei figure doesn't shake Yuji's focus. Mahito's abilities are revealed: he can duplicate himself, control the mutation time of his "human pellets," and detach parts of his body, crafting weapons from these segments. Assuming the double possesses the same enhanced skill set, Nobara faces a formidable challenge. Fortunately, Mahito's record against the Tokyo school in terms of kills is unimpressive, and Nobara's cursed energy has significantly increased since the origin of obedience.

I have confidence in Nobara. While Mahito might be able to deceive Yuji once more, it'll be interesting to see how that unfolds.

Mappa needs to give their Animators a break after this bro...

Went from peak animation every episode to now a slideshow, and it doesn't help that they still need to ghost and dim their slide show.

They should stop airing until all episodes are finished otherwise the season is going to end badly and people will only view the season as how it ended and focus on the negatives rather than the positives.

You have to admit that Mahito is hella based. Him mocking Itadori was hilarious, lmao. As a villain he's truly a blast.

Man, Namai had it really rough that day. Ok, first he could manhandle Shigemo a bit, but then he lost an eye to Dagon, was burned till he looked like Two Face by Jogo and lastly Mahito made jam out of him. He deserved so much better, he deseved Malaysia.

The moment in this arc I've been dreading the most has finally come. And of course, to make it even MORE painful, they expanded on Nanami's Malaysia dream and threw in an emotional piano piece as a cherry on top. Switching back and forth from him being happy in Malaysia to him fighting for his life didn't help either.

"You've got it from here." Fuck you Mahito. RIP to a real one. Nanami was one of my GOATs, this death hurts different. What a Thanksgiving gift from JJK lol.

I like most of the anime-original liberties that the animators have been adding to the fights, but one that I wasn't too keen on this time around was the beginning of Yuji vs. Mahito where they were fighting while being pressed against the wall. The actual content itself was fine, it just felt like that part was a little difficult to see. They probably should have stayed more true to the manga for that part, where they're clearly fighting in a more open space. Other than that though I don't really have any complaints about how they did the fight through the rest of the episode. That Mahito fake kiss was hilarious 💀

Finally Nobara is back in action as she's taking on the Mahito clone, and while she's holding her own pretty nicely for now, this arc has shown us how quickly the tides can turn at the drop of a hat....

Edit: Went back to the beginning part of the fight now that the episode is actually out and upped the brightness, that definitely made things easier to see. Considering the fucked production schedule, I feel like they made that part the way they did to allow for some shortcuts to be taken so they could finish the episode on time.

@KingSlowDown It looked pretty decent, certainly not on the level of the previous 2 episodes (which would obviously be difficult to follow up) but not as bad as Yuji's throwaway fight against the Grasshopper.

Very limited animation. Some glimpses of what could’ve been, but it doesn’t look as bad as episode 14, it’s actually pretty presentable, just that it doesn’t have amazing cuts.

SUCH A GOOD BUT SAD EPISODE!!!

The death of Kento Nanami... at least he went out fighting but DAMN!!! I'm sorry but he looked BADASS!!!

Yuji had quite a big fight with Mahito but it lead nowhere... now he is fighting Nobara... I really hope she can defend herself long enough to survive... I can't be dealing with another death...

The animation just keeps getting better and better it never stops and I love it!

ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER
Anyways another pretty good episode. Also thought this episode was going to be delayed so pleasantly surprised that the it still came out at the same time today. Mane Nanami tho :/. You will be greatly missed by this fan base o7. Mahito continues being the full blown POS he's always been yet Yuji does seem to be countering his attacks quite well just not getting a whole lot of attacks in. And Mahito can now split into two? Hopefully Nobara can handle Mahito no2 especially since she's already riled up. 5 episodes reminaing 0.0 Excited for next week's episode.

Well, it is quite the depressing episode with Nanami's death and his message to Yuji. The highlight of today's episode. it was worth the wait and absolutely loved the build up to this exact scene. Animation-wise, it's a big downgrade though. None of the attacks clicked together and felt like the impact was gone.

RIP Nanami. His death scene with the flashes to him on the beach was so beautiful and sad.
The fight looked much better then I thought it would ngl. The animation is still really good. Good job everyone who worked on this in such a messed up schedule.
And Mahito is a menace. My favorite curse.
Btw the fight with Nobara happened before the fight with Yuji right? They were jumping around the timeline a lot at the end.

Nanami in this episode was what a Mappa animator figuratively looks like. Beaten up and still working.

I liked the fireworks spectacle that was the last 2 episodes. But damn, I love when Yuji have CQC combat.

This bitch Mahito, just pushing Itadori's buttons to no limit. Now this mofo is targetting Nobara next after Nanami. Looks like next week it's gonna be RIP Nobara.

The action sequences were a bit hard to follow, mostly assuming that the schedule did not allow for complete animation of sequences. After a few rewatches, I was able to follow the whole thing for the most part. But great action, I loved it.
