But my feels.
Tashigi is such a stupid bitch. Does she really think her useless ass can help ANYBODY, let alone ZORO???? He don't need your help, cocky weakling >___> Total dead weight, forreal
Okay, so the reason Zoro hasn't sliced Monet in two yet is...chivalry??
Are you kidding me?
He's like the least chivalristic person in the whole anime aside from Luffy! Isn't his whole past with Kuina about him not judging strength based on gender? I mean, Tashigi gets a pass because she looks practically identical to Kuina, but Monet? Come on, Zoro!
Even Sanji fought more against Kalifa, and that's frickin' Sanji.
On another note, I used to find Tashigi almost unbearably annoying, but she's grown on me immensely this arc. She might actually be one of my favorite One Piece girls. +1 for her being able to use Haki before Zoro as well!
I like Monet too actually- we rarely get good female villains in One Piece imo, but not only is she gorgeous and awesome, she's incredibly self-aware and that makes her pretty deadly!
I'm pretty mad at Zoro tbh, too bad he probably won't get the crap kicked out of him because he clearly needs a good ass kicking XD

Tashigi coming in like that and saving the day! Can we assume that Tashigi has surpassed Zoro or what? Like Monet said, Zoro was only able to defend her attacks, he didn't attack her. Interested to see how it plays out. A decent episode, you can tell things are beginning to wrap up.
I just wish Luffy would get out of the damn garbage room and do something useful! And Caesar is probably the nastiest villain up to this point in the anime.
I know some are sick of the kids already, they aren’t the most interesting characters by any means, they don’t even really feel like characters in my opinion excluding Mocha but I liked this scene because it characterized the main boy out of this kid group. I think his name was Sid maybe? But I can’t know for sure and I can’t find it on google. Regardless, we saw him and Mocha before they grew and he boosted their morale and tried to be strong for her despite feeling weak and sad himself. It’s much needed to make more of these kids feel like people. We also had a look into how they met Caesar and Monet and how much they’ve been manipulated. Caesar and Monet were their parental figures, a mom and a dad, or at least a fatherly figure and a big sister. And they absolutely manipulated them and hurt them, it was a reminder that these kids thought they were good people too, it’s not just Caesar’s minions who were tricked.
Speaking of Monet, do you guys get the feeling that Monet actually cares about these kids in a warped way? I can’t trust the sincerity of her words when she says they treat the kids well and these pirates are trying to steal them from that comfort, she does often use language like “I’m responsible for protecting Caesar and his experiment” as well as talk about her “duty”, my subtitles even used quotations to say they are trying to steal these “treasures” from us “foster parents”. But it is important to keep in mind that Caesar himself is willing to toss away this bunch of kids and abduct some more, to him they are expendable and not even something to worry about at this point. Further, Monet looked genuinely happy and kind in the flashback, where Caesar always has shading on his face and a scary look, she didn’t give me that vibe at all. Overall she has this big focus on not letting anyone take the kids.. This yet again reminds me of the Promised Neverland. Obviously, one reading could be that she doesn’t care about them in any sense, the kids are still tied to Doflamingo and she’s doing this for her own sake, but as Caesar said, the kids are expendable and they don’t actually seem that central to her own wellbeing which is the source of my feelings on her.
]The center point to this episode was certainly the Monet scene and I think you can break it down into two fantastic halves. The first was evacuating Robin, Nami, and Chopper from the icy hellscape that is Monet’s domain. It was wonderful in a few ways, but I want to mention that before they got away I had thought the fight would be about Nami using heat to hurt Monet and Zoro using the haki he has, as Robin supports them and that be the crux of this. That doesn’t appear to be the case anymore. Rather, Zoro was amazing when it came to helping his nakama get away, firstly realizing Monet, like Vergo, would target the weak first rushed in and figured out where she would attack from, deflecting her away. It was so awesome, and I loved how Nami got scared when she saw his scary face as he shouted and ran in their direction. Then, after Robin used her power to save Nami and Chopper, Zoro literally cuts the snow wall blocking them in half and gets them to escape. It was so great to see the panic of everyone trying to get away as Monet used her abilities to do as she pleased, to see Zoro’s protective and skilled nature, and Nami getting a good hit in to prove she’s not so weak!
Then the hysterical send half where a new team to fight against Monet came in as backup, if the first half was about evacuation this was about reinforcements. Zoro held off Monet with defense for a reason which isn’t so clear, it felt like a form of chivalry but Zoro’s not the type and we know this. Regardless, during this time Sanji arrived at the scene literally leading the G-5 with a charge and he took the opportunity to order them to make fun of Zoro as they ran by. I was laughing so hard at this, it’s easily one of my favorite Sanji/Zoro moments. Zoro’s shock and the G-5 eager to follow their brother’s command was so funny. Only Sanji would think to do that so quick on his feet. But they get distracted by Monet and all of the marines acting as Sanji does was another reminder that Sanji would fit on the G-5 crew perfectly, Monet even got a cute little blushing moment- she’s human after all! However, her desire to stop the kids from being taken urged her to turn into that horrifying snow form of hers where she dives through the sky and bites chunks out of people while constricting them. And while this was going on, Tashigi boarded up the door and came in just in time to save some of her men, slashing through this logia user with haki and making her gush blood!!! YES!!! I was so excited, I hope Tashigi gets some great moments here, she deserves them! Also, even if Zoro’s stubborn, the more help the better against a logia like her. I’m mostly curious about what Sanji’s going to do.
Finally we had two tiny scenes. Luffy flying and falling, perhaps another case of Luffy being trapped somewhere to delay him so he can take a big final battle for himself, but I think it also went to show those clouds Momonosuke makes are real physical things that you can hold onto and climb up. We also had Usopp decide to split up their group by himself and eagerly choose to be the party that left the group alone. That was cool.. and brave.. and decisive. Go Usopp!!
Caesar could hardly hold in laughter whenever he lies but he's surprisingly good at deceiving others regardless of that. All the more reason to punch that shit-eating grin off his face.
I know that being a Logia type can already make you fly in a sense like when Crocodile turns himself into sand but seeing Monet quickly fly all over the room as a giant snow beast have made me realize how scary a Logia user with wings can be.
I'm eager to see what a Zoro and Tashigi team-up would be like~
that scene with Caesar crying about "losing his only son", heavy commentary on medical propaganda
Sanji and his merry band of morons ^_^
Tashigi needs a sword daddy with green hair and one eye ;))
Overdoing the chilldren lashbacks in this episode. I don't understand how Monet was walking around with human legs in the past though. I thought she was like the others who had been paralysed from the previous gas attack and that's why she had her bird legs now.
Nami annoyingly finally having one of her badass moments...only to completely screw up a few seconds later. She'd just shown Monet was weak to intense heat and was running while waving the heat stick, so why did it suddenly disappear?
Hoping to know the actual reason Zoro had been on the defence thus far. He wasn't struggling other than Monet constantly running to chase other targets, but he did attempt a single attack. Then Tashigi of all people who's been fat out useless against every opponent thus far has the gall too confidently stand next to Zoro and say he needs HER help. Zoro did mention he should deal with Monet because she's Logia, so we'd think he's got a grasp of armament haki (Luffy did say Zoro and Sanji had it, but didn't specify). Unless it's more observation right now which is why he's purely on defence and the only reason he could potentially use Tashigi's help in this fight.
Luffy and Monomosuke scene felt like extreme padding. Had him flying up the chute while in some daze...only to suddenly pass out from hunger and fall all the way back down :/
I’m confused on the zoro part. I thought he could use Haki, and if Sanji can you know Zoro can. I’m really curious on why he going easy on her? Zoro like Luffy does not have any of Sanji “chivalry”. He would 100 attack a girl. Especially based on his backstory. So I’m curious on why he not.
However, I did laugh when Sanji who no leading G9 had him and all the soldiers do the face to him, but the minute he walked in the room I knew he 100% get a nose bleed.
But I love Tashigi and Zoro team up. Tashigi while I like her as a character is best when she interacting with Zoro. Especially since she reminds him of his childhood friend. She kind of Zoro Kolby and I need more interaction with them this arc.
Also I’ve said this like 100 times but I still think Tashigi is Zoro childhood friend. She fell down a stairs. But we know Tashigi not good without glasses so maybe she feel down the stairs and lost her memory. Then they hid it from Zoro. It’s been my one longtime theory since Loungetown.
