Idk, demons flexing their power and trying to be edgy is not really something I would call "fun", that scene bored me to death, I would be ok with it if the scene was shorter, but it was fucking long, only thing saving it is the amazing animation from UFOtable. Regardless, I think the scenes after very well make up for it, and this could be at least a tiny bit better season than the first two, but I doubt that even the godly animation that UFOtable brings to the table can save this trash story

I don't understand why people are always saying that God animation is carrying this story. Indeed Ufotable studio's animations are great but I don't think the story is too bad or even trash it's worth watching anime in my opinion though. Can't expect from everyone else to agree with me.

I do not understand what you see in the story, you have one piece in your profile, so I expect you know what a "good story" is, Demon Slayer only plays on the emotions of the viewers and tries to be edgy, it has one of the most unoriginal plots I have seen, and just feels plain overall, I do agree that the movie was great, but still nothing to praise on your knees, it is cringe to hate on something just because it is mainstream I do agree with that, but I myself love a mainstream show (like one piece) but still dislike demon slayer

Well, if I may.... I wouldn't say its a bad story., but hey, each to their own. As an aspiring writer, I'd say its a pretty good story, albeit, obviously not as great as One Piece. Now, yes the story does have many flaws overall and many find it hard to watch because of it, but I think the plot is fun and engaging with foreshadowing, lore insertion, anticipation and payoffs where its due, and I find each character unique. Each of them have their own different character design, personality, backstories, and flaws to overcome. While I wholeheartedly agree that I seriously can't stand Zenitsu when he is throwing tantrums, I don't think the other characters are as bad. Rengoku is charismatic , Tengen is flashy and entertaining, Douma is, well, Douma, and Kokushibou is noble, and a total badass. As a manga reader, I really enjoyed the whole story. It was fun. Maybe if it wasn't for its overwhelming popularity and the fact that its mainstream, it'd have a decent fan base and a lot less hate and criticism, I think.

I understand your point, but just because story has things like "foreshadowing" or "plot twists" does not make it a good story, you should remember that as a writer, story writing is about how you make all those things fit to each other, and about making the reader\viewer feel emotions or feelings. The entire slice of life genre could be described as "boring" by many, but then there are people like me who enjoy it for what it is. The thing that makes Demon Slayer a bad show for me are not the characters, I agree that the character design is exceptional, since if it wasn't it could not become popular in the first place. The problem is the overall story and pacing, you can basically predict what the next arc will be about everytime, new Hashira (or two this season) join the main cast, we get to know the new hashira, and they either die or become irelevant forever. If this is the type of stories you are into, go ahead and enjoy it, I am not saying you cannot. But you have to admit that it would not be even nearly as popular if it was not of the godly animation from UFOtable.

Well ... Some time I do interested watching toward anime female naked or sexy body part.... But Mitsuru naked body are not sexy enough... Something missing. Haha. I'm more interested seeing her with her demon slayer uniform than her naked but breast cover with her hair scene.

Yes, it is true that if it wasn't for UfoTable's touch, the work wouldn't have been even close to the popularity it right now has. But I don't think that means the quality of the story is bad.

And I think it does. As a manga reader I can tell you, things do fit into each other, puzzle pieces do fall into the place.

[Minor Spoilers!] The Hinokami Kagura, Nezuko's blood lighting up Tanjiro's blade at the last moment in the fight with the Spider Demon Rui, in Episode 19, Muzan's PTSD... All of these are puzzle pieces are important and play a role through out the story (some you'll see in this season and some in the upcoming ones), and in tying it together at the end.

And I don't know about other people, but I personally, was genuinely emotionally invested in Rengoku's Death, and Daki and Gyutaro's backstory. And I think it might have been a similar experience for other people too.

[Minor Spoilers!] And towards the end of the story, you won't even need UfoTable to amplify things. As things already become really intense towards the climax. I really was on the edge of my seat, and couldn't stop turning the pages.

Ryuumishou said:

Yes, that is true. There IS a predictable pattern that the upcoming arcs start to follow as the story goes on: Go to a place -> Find a Hashira -> Defeat a demon -> The aftermath, and rinse and repeat. But there is a limit to how many times the author does that, and it thankfully stops right before it becomes actually annoying. But on the plus point, there is more to it than just that. There are story and character developments and foreshadowing sprinkled throughout the arcs and the fights, which come to play a major role in the story later on.

Ryuumishou said:

That I think is not true. But we can't talk about it without dipping into the spoiler domain.

[Minor Spoilers!] But all I'll say while trying my best not to spoil anything, is this... Deaths in Demon Slayer, I think, are one of its strongest points. They are the legacy carried by the survivors, as one of their flaws to overcome. Rengoku's death devastated Tanjiro, and is one of the motives currently driving him to go on. We see bits of that in his fight against Daki, and see him see Rengoku in Uzui at a point. Hell, even Tanjiro's family comes to help him, time to time. And the hashiras are relevant too, until the end of the manga. Everyone of them have flaws to overcome, destinies to fulfil, even Tanjiro.

I know the story is kind of dull at this point, but, as people like to call it, the writer is in the middle of "cooking".

Though, I can understand your point of view, I think that there IS a plot structure to it, which, is obviously poor in comparison to the great shonen stories, but I still think it is coherent, engaging and somewhat enjoyable.

As a non-manga reader, I cannot say anything about the ending, I heard people tell me it is a bad one, but I want to judge for myself since people say the say thing about the ending of Monster, and I rated that one 10/10. I have no right to judge how will the story develop, the story I am judging is only the story that got adapted so far. But I am honestly the type of person that thinks that anime has to be good all the way through to actually do its job the best,

while Rengoku's death was indeed tragic and sad for many, let's take Ousama Ranking (my favorite anime of this decade so far) as an example, Demon Slayer has an emotional scene that takes a whole movie to set up, and it is sad because the author kills off an important character, Ousama Ranking episode 2 takes only one episode to set up, does not kill off any character, and makes you cry multiple times as much. This is the power of a strong narrative, you either have to kill off an important character to make people watching the show sad, or you just have to make a character everyone cares about smile.

This applies to other shows as well, one piece (spoilers for one piece) makes you cry because of a damn ship dying (rip Marry), HunterXHunter Chimera arc makes you hyped unlike any other arc could experience the birth of an entirely new race, that you get invested into. I know I know I am comparing shows, and people hate when you do that, but HunterXHunter and kimetsu no yaiba received similar amounts of fame, so you would expect the story to be at least comparable, this is where the animation part comes in, when you compare Kimetsu no Yaiba to any other show, the only thing that stands out is the animation, you say that character development is important... Ok take two panels, and draw a circle on the first one, and a triangle on the second one... the circle has gone through a character arc, and completely changed as a person, triangle and circle is truly peak manga.

What is important is to stand out, when everyone praises Kimetsu no Yaiba, they do so because of the animation, I cannot speak for the story in manga, but even now I already know the story is way weaker than in other shows that the similar amounts of praise (maybe expect... well almost every mainstream show is weak af...)
