Some of my favorites are On Your Mark, Millennium Actress, Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, and Castle in the Sky.

This glorious signature image was created by @Mayumi!

I am the Arbiter of Absolute Truth, and here is my wisdom:

"Anime was always influenced by the West. This is not news.
Shoujo is the superior genre primarily aimed at young people.
Harem/isekai are lazy genres that refuse any meaningful innovation.
There is no 'Golden Age.' There will always be top-shelf anime.
You should be watching Carole & Tuesday."

these kinds of threads should be a bannable offense.
You nees to learn that there is no such thing as a "best" anything, there are popular anime and there are personal favorite anime.
now go to the recs board and ask properly, what kind of flick you want, what year and what theme.

@JaniSIr I am one of the 12 people who has seen and liked that movie, it absolutely does not hold up as one of the best.

The visuals alone hold it back a lot....

But I get it. It's an underdog, and for a movie with a rating below 7, having one of the most interesting antagonists I have ever seen, and actually having a lot of thought provoking philosophy is damn impressive.

The track that played during the ending is also just superb.

since you are the second person out of the 12 people who liked that movie, what did you think of the final character choice? The more I thought about it, the less it made sense to me, but I've heard it makes WAY more sense in the book.

@APolygons2 The visuals were fine, besides some CG on distant shots.

As far as the "big global event" is concerned, she didn't have a choice, it makes sense she didn't care for the world, but also she was fundamentally powerless to stop it either way.
As for the other thing, that really could have used some more screen time, that is the one actual flaw in the movie... I guess I can relate to it on the level of "would you rather have Star Wars be dead, or have it remade by Disney"... But it definitely felt like something was missing.

my favourite are Whisper of the Heart, Perfect Blue and KonoSuba: Legend of Crimson

KonoSuba also has a good animation. Perfect Blue is a 90s movie and the art style really fits the whole theme so id say its good too.
