Do you download music with any file formats other than FLAC?

So do you?
I know that FLAC files are heavy AF and don't make a difference in most songs, but I personally think that some songs are transformed when listened as FLAC even when not using professional or top of the line headphones.

I used to think that FLAC was BS that had no real difference from MP3, but after listening to "Capital Cities - Safe and Sound" as a FLAC file my horizons were expanded as I noticed that some sounds are cut from compressed music files like MP3, most songs did not change anything but there are a few songs that are transformed with those extra sounds when listened as FLAC and because of this I refuse to use anything other than FLAC anymore.

Nowadays, I only download MP3 when I can't find a FLAC version of the song that I want.

FLAC is lossless anyway so its the original sound

but im not picky since my ears are not that picky too so 320kbps MP3 sounds good enough already for me heck even Opus at 128kbps sounds great already

Why would I even use the format file which I have never heard of?
Only MP3 as it has been the case for me since already 20 years. Although I no longer need to download music like I used to, to play it through Windows Media Player or play it with my MP3 [I still use sometimes my MP3 Player so that is the only reason I would download music in nowadays] due to Spotify and Youtube existence, I don't need to download and waste my free space of hard drives anymore for music.

I go for the best I can find as I don't have any storage limitations. Sometimes this has included .ogg although they are almost the same as flac as I understand it.

I am stuck to MP3 for over a decade. FLAC takes too much space.

I've never been able to notice the difference between lossless audio and decent quality lossy, so it's just a waste of space to me.

I don't use FLAC because I haven't noticed any differences in the sound quality (I'd probably need a good, and expensive, sound system to see the difference). Good old MP3 suits all my needs.

I respect your opinion as long as you respect mine.

I download all my music mp3. FLAC takes too much space and I never noticed a difference anyways.

Yes FLAC is good for favorite artists, you can often download the albums off a bittorrent in FLAC. The quality of music is very important to me. I also use a lot of ghetto setups for amplifying sound without distortion particularly for headphones. That's good for music and gaming but a bit too loud for other things. Unfortunately maintaining it requires me to buy up old equipment, or I must turn to very expensive new equipment which probably needs to be customized. Software can't amplify sound the right way and most audio equipment can't do that correctly these days.

If you can notice the difference in FLAC audio it also sort of keeps more of your attention when listening in the background which actually improves the experience somehow

I also frequent a game music site KHinsider to get a lot of FLAC copies of video game songs I like. That site is also a way to download many full albums to sample very quickly, but they require a small monthly subscription like Twitch.

If you listen to this boss track with headphones in MP3 and FLAC versions, there's a very noticeable difference. If you can't tell, you'd need to upgrade your headphones, use cup style, or maybe it's too low to hear the difference.

Another good example 🙏😭

The FLAC file is definitely close or exactly to the original console sound, you can hear more clearly all the extra background instruments in these tracks I've linked. High quality game music blasting from a TV or speaker would surround you with all those little instruments too lol combined with the game sound fx it mixed well together, no distortion.
