Eh, someone is ripped and you start to call him gay, learn what it means first.

Anyway, Hordy looks creepy in his new 'stage'.

^^; I'm also in the minority, I guess. I don't really mind the pacing all that much. Yes, it's a little slow, but I've waited patiently through worse in other series. They still managed to show Robin being awesome. :3

I wasn't surprised by the revelation of what makes Hordy do what he does, though. I guessed it when all there was was his mouth moving last episode. I was like, so, either he's the child of a mermaid and a celestial dragon ( is that even possible? >_< ew ) .... or he has no reason whatsoever. Those are the only two things that I could think of that would make Prince Fukuboshi as shocked as he was.

Hordy's reason, or lack of one, actually makes him all the more hateful and frightening to me. Look at all the intolerance in the world, this arc is something of a mirror on that. Calling the New Fishman Pirates "empty vessels of hatred" or somesuch is an apt description, I think. There isn't anything REAL behind what they say and do; they don't have any personal experiences to make it real. Not like Tiger (who tried not to spread the hate) or the Princes and Princess (though they avoided the hate). Funny how the people who actually had horrible things done to them are the ones who try to take the high road, and the one who only heard about things or watched them happen to other people is the one who gives into the hate. It makes what he does somehow even more awful.

I hope that not having any personal reason will make him lack the same sort of determination that other villains have had, and he'll break down quickly, not being able to do the whole "get back up repeatedly when knocked down" thing. Or maybe he'll overdose from munching on too many pills. >>; Seriously, I was wondering why he hasn't overdosed and started foaming yet? >_< He downs a fistful like every other episode!

All in all, I'd much rather have a villain with a reason, because then at least I can try to understand why he feels the way he does, even if I don't agree with him.

So they are a bunch of bored villains with too much time on their hands?

Their lack of motivation was so disappointing it was actually funny.

Hordy is empty. Okay. What a really troll movement, lol: "the real revelation is that... there is no revelation!".

An useless episode where nothing happens and the final take on Hordy is the same damn thing that has defined him and his acts for the whole arc. What the hell. Robin's part was endlessly enjoyable, but still. And what about the Straw Hats' individual fights that were introduced two episodes before?

Oh Robin~ <3 Always so awesome

And THAT was Hordy's secret? Seriously? -_- With how they acted I thought their "emptiness" was obvious for a while now. Geez I didn't think this arc could've gotten any worse when I stopped reading it, but it sure proved me wrong.

I was expecting him to say "nothing", which is a cool answer, but with the whole identity/who-he-really-is I thought that he might actually be someone.... I mean the "he is empty" was something we already knew...
Anyway, Robin's new ability is cool!

Yes, there are those empty inside who lust for power and will do anything to achieve it including joining a cause or organization that can grant that power. I enjoyed the fact that Hordy was hell bent on destruction and power with no influencing back story or lucid reason- a psychopathic, delusional, drug addled, impotent ball of rage and lust; beautiful.

I was wondering what humans did to Hordy before it was even mentioned, but when it came up I knew his answer was going to be "nothing". When the prince mentioned the "true identity of Hordy Jones" I expected something along the lines of "he's Arlong's brother".

I hope this arc comes to an end soon, it's SJW-tier race-baiting nonsense (but at least they show the perspective of both sides). I would have much rather had an entire arc dedicated to Boa Hancock.

ROBIN THOUGH
She had shades too!!
Seriously though, her ability has come such a long way, she can now multiply herself!

Also, I called it.
Hody is just an awful person.
Empty enemies like him are usually the most troubling and terrifying, simply because you can't convince them to back down. He just needs an ass kicking from Luffy tbh.

HAHAHAHA. So, Fukuboshi basically explained in a few lines everything that I've been picking up about Hordy. He basically said it exactly how I have a few times. He perpetuates his beliefs, he wants to think humans are evil and his "cause" is justification for his hatred and his hatred is an end in itself with no goal making him a distinctly different beast than someone like Arlong. Someone despicable, someone not even misguided.. Rather he's not losing control of the devil inside of him, nor is he controlling it, he rather is the devil embodied. I was so sure he said "nothing" but then when Fukuboshi said his "true identity" was found out I thought maybe I had a wrong reading of him. But, it appears my reading on him was correct. Still, for someone to be as disgustingly cruel and sadistic as he is I still feel there has to be more there. Not just anyone can be that ruthless and horrible. He had a change through his life, he wasn't always like this. The ideology and racism polluted his mind and created a hatred in him, but I don't believe that creates the willingness for bloodshed among even your own. That, to me, seems to require another step and that's not even touching on his eagerness to die by downing so many drugs that are already putting him through so much pain. Still, despite feeling a little misleading with Fukuboshi's words, I think it's built up to this perfectly. I'd see Hordy in no other way so I'm glad I wasn't wrong about him.

Other than the truth about Hordy being confirmed this was a big episode for the war going on. Sanji and Jimbei teamed up on Wadatsumi and Sanji used his tactical mind to get the stupid giant sea baby to inflate himself 10 times over to the point of harming his own teammates. I love how Wadatsumi can't talk or has to talk fast or he lets air out. So that should be a decent benefit in the Straw Hats favour and we saw Wadatsumi getting even bigger when he wasn't the focus. We had the minister order the soldiers to do all they can for the Straw Hats, as their saviors were treated so poorly by them, now the Straw Hats + Jimbei turned into the Straw Hats + Jimbei + the lasting Neptune army and the minister. Then on top of that second big move for the Straw Hats to have more of an advantage we had the glorious Robin and Jimbei moment. We have Hammond, the guy Luffy easily one shot awhile back finally back and in the fight absolutely mimicking Celestial Dragons, using slaves to carry him shamelessly. Of course that would hurt Jimbei, rather than being better than the Dragons and refusing to kill or enslave to bridge equality and understanding, they are perpetuating the hate and going against everything Jimbei and Tiger fought for. Robin understood that and liked that enough that she called Jimbei handsome and let them go turning another pretty decent advantage to the Straw Hats, on top of a self destructive Wadatsumi and Neptune Army we have all the slaves changing sides!

Further than that we ought to talk about Robin massacring Hammond. I love her clones as they are a logical extension of her power and they are super cool, but the only ways I can see her clones working for the teleportation is if the one that Hammond caught was a fake, or alternatively if it's like Moria's power to change position in his shadows. Perhaps Robin can change places with her clones, I recall maybe Tien in Dragon Ball can do that too! I take it it's probably the latter, as this one could have been a fake Robin that she set up for Hammond to let his guard down, but the first time the neptune army surrounded her it looked like she was completely caught off guard. And, her double clutch looked rad!!! Teleporting right out of the net, appearing twice on Hammond's neck and legs with 6 arms each putting him into a wrestling submission and snapping him twice. THAT WAS SO COOL, AND SHE HAD THOSE SUPER RAD GLASSES COVERING HER EYES. Robin is so so so great.

It only just hit me now that the kids are totally there to have the Straw Hats influence the next generation of fishmen. Luffy being the hero of the island is literally influencing the next generation. They will see a human as the savior of their people and themselves and clearly going forward they will think not all humans are bad. That has to be the purpose of showing those fishmen kids so much. Hordy may have killed Otohime and taken a big step back for fishman-human relations but by announcing he was the killer and then losing to Luffy and having Luffy save the people Hordy nearly killed he has set up fishman-human relations to go a huge step forward. So, in a sense, thank you Hordy Jones for being such a stupid idiot. Thank you.

Lastly, Hordy's power ups are definitely annoying, the drugs and him are cool, but the way he just gets chunkier and chunkier is a little unimaginative, but as these are basically instant steroids I'll accept it. The red eyes are a little much too. The fight reminds me of Luffy vs Lucci just Luffy is on Lucci's side, whereas Hordy is on Luffy's side downing drugs that essentially put him into gear forms so he can keep up with Luffy at all, slowly killing himself in the process. If it wasn't for that and if he was closer to Luffy's level I'd be far less lenient on it, but since it's not like it's some meathead getting physically stronger over and over again and Luffy has to keep trying to keep up but rather the opposite I think it's better. Other than the evil motives, Hordy is the shounen protagonist here and on top of the interesting water / land advantage fight going on here of Luffy trying to draw Hordy to the Noah or fill it with more air, it's pretty fun.

It might be a stretch but it'd be hilarious if that giant moronic Wadatsumi could serve as an airbag to cushion the Noah somehow.

Nico can duplicate her whole body now too, damn!

It was kind of expected to see that Hordy didn't need to be directly harmed by humans to gain a seething hatred towards them. He's that type of person with no real upbringing to begin with except for his delinquent friends and role models, after all.

Rather than a tragic past or traumatizing event, Hordy's hatred & wickedness was an inherited sentiment that built up through the generations until it couldn't be contained. It's actually far more profound as it hammers home the theme of how vicious that cycle of hatred really is when it's in full motion. In my experience, I've observed that the most radicalizing forces are those of constant, apathetic dehumanization.

Guessing that Robin with her shades on is a sign that she's getting serious. Quite impressive that she's able to create and grow entire copies of herself now with her trained powers.

That Hordy line though. The way the arc has gone so far loses a lot of the weight it could've held. On the one hand it's genius because it's not the same cliched trauma past. Hordy just wants to hate humans and doesn't want a reason. His entire cause is fake just like the power of his steroids. However, this just ends up cementing him as a weak villain. His power isn't genuine and he hasn't shown any sort of proper smarts, cunning or true manipulation to actually make it seem like their entire cause had some justification to it. All that reveal actually did was confirm what was pretty obvious from the start. The fact it shocked the prince so much that he allowed Hordy to get him with such a telegraphed attack makes him seem all the more pathetic now. All the princes have been useless as much as I want to like them.

The entire fate of the island has now been left in the hands of Luffy and Shirahoshi...provided the air tank crew are able to hit their mark.

Robin is just to cool (and hot). Still think she not been in the arc enough.

I both like and dislike Hordy big secret. I dislike it because they kind of hyped it up little to much. But I did like it a lot because I do like villains sometimes who just evil for evil sake. And Hordy definitely one of them

What a terrible revelation.

I'm starting to see why so many people don't like this arc. It started wonderfully but between the pacing that is dragging for too long and the antagonists that became increasingly lame as the arc progresses, my enjoyment really diminished.
