| Asuka man. She touched me in the anime series with her nice personality, and even more in the end of evangelion. One of more awesome anime characters that I have seen. (not only by her nice look but especially by the personality that I found awesome) Shiji by other hand disappointed me in the end of eva. |

| TV series & manga - Misato Re-take & Rebuild - Asuka (I hated her at the end of TV series and manga, but in Re-take and Rebuild she is described in much more reasonable way, she is not selfish bitch that hate everyone anymore, we can see that she is changing... and she is more moe :) ). |

| Personally, Asuka Langley Soryû (/Shikinami in Evangelion 2.0) is my favourite of all NGE. I can say I've fallen in love with her ^^. |

| Well, I have 2 fauvorite female characters in this anime: Rei, because she was so mysterious and silent; and Misato. Misato's character is pretty similar to main, I understand this character. I think she's very "real" character. |

| Misato. I've only watched the first part of the rebuild, so I still only know of Asuka as that highly annoying and bitchy girl from the original series. And Rei just never caught my attention. |
| Usually one character overshadows the other in popularity. But Asuka and Rei are both equally popular. ... Poor Misato. Misato is actually one of the better chars in NGE. I like Asuka because of her bitchy attitude and plus shes hot. Rei I find a boring character who I wouldn't ever want to talk to in real life. But anyways Asuka is by far my favorite. If it wasn't for her I most likely would've dropped the show. |

| Rei. Like I said in the other favorite character thread, I can highly identify with her, so I find it interesting to see her doing things simply because of the fact she is like me. It doesn't hurt that she looks good, although that can be said of many of the other females on the show. |

| Asuka from the original series is my favorite anime character ever. She is a very complex character--when she's first introduced she comes off as a stereotypical annoying/loud character. However, she evolves into a deeply troubled young girl who is just trying to make in the world the only way she knows how. She really shines in the EoE when she becomes a complete badass and has some great fight scenes. Plus her final line was epic! I expected her to fall apart in the arms of the male lead (I mean, she did survive the end of the world with him and all) but instead she remains completely unemotional and angry. It was a very unexpected and kinda of a nice twist to what could have been a stereotypical ending. In Rebuild though, I kinda like Rei more. I might change my mind as the movie franchise progresses but I loved how hard she tried to reach out to others even though it was very uncomfortable for her. I can relate to that. |
| every single character has his own psychological issues. but i think Rei is cooler, some might say she's not a human or a vivid personality as Asuka or something, but i think that's a lie, you just have to notice Rei's character development in the series. in the beginning she's more cold and listless or blase, but then she expresses her feelings and she seems to be quite mature. Asuka is the typical attention whore, but she has her own reason, her childhood was cruel and being harsh is her "defense", her AT field. I like Misato as well. She's not a whore, she has an energetic personality, her way of life is frivolous and i think sex is a way to connect her feelings with other persons. @Rosamaria what's so epic? i don't think "kimochi warui" line has a deep meaning or something. any ideas? (let's face it: Anno = master troll.) |

| It's a close one between Rei and Asuka, but i think i like Asuka more. Then again I'd put Mari pretty high up there too, and she's only been in the one movie. |

| Asuka is my #1 favorite female character because she is a character with an equal balance of strengths and flaws and how she develops throughout the series to the End of Evangelion movie showcases how dynamic a character she is, also Asuka provided that extra spice to the series that had me hooked once she was introduced, sometimes I feel she's an often misunderstood character. Misato is my second favorite of the female cast, I love her multi-layered personality that she has, she's funny and quirky, yet also gentle and has a lot of love to give, and like Asuka has her own set of flaws. Rei is third on the list, I'm rather fond of her enigmatic, angelic nature and is truly a sweet person when she opens up to others, and her character design is quite stunning, especially when she is in her plugsuit. |

| C'mon. Rei all the way. I really like Misato. And i'm okay with Ritsuko, Hikari and everyone. But I can't stand Asuka. Well at least in the first series. I'm really trying to change my mind, but I can't, she totally pisses me off. This new Asuka called *Shikinami* It's almost okay to me. Rei is cute, lonely and sad, who needs atention and love. How can someone prefer a Crazy Hot-headed girl who wants to stomp the MC everytime she sees him? Rei...Because beyond her heart...She is able to love... |
| I grinned when I first saw Asuka an Eva 2.0. Misato is a close second and Rei is starting to grow on me. |
