 Kodansha opened an official Twitter for a television anime adaptation of Janome's Tasogare Out Focus (Twilight Out of Focus) manga on Monday, revealing the main cast members.Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Sasaki to Miyano) and Yuuma Uchida (Given) are starring as Mao Tsuchiya and Hisashi Otomo, respectively. Janome began drawing the boys love manga on Kodansha's Honey Milk magazine in June 2018. The first and final volume was released in June 2019. The series has a cumulative 250,000 copies of its volumes in circulation. A sequel manga Tasogare Out Focus: Overlap (Twilight Out of Focus: Overlap) began serializing on the same platform in May 2019. The first and final volume was released in August 2020. The manga also received two spin-off manga, Zanzou Slow Motion (Twilight Out of Focus: Afterimages in Slow Motion) and Yoiyoi Monologue (Twilight Out of Focus: The Evening Monologues), in December 2019 and 2020. Kodansha USA licensed the manga for digital release in English in February 2022. The first volume went on sale in March 2022. Synopsis In front of a camera, roommates Mao Tsuchiya and Hisashi Otomo make three promises: Mao must not tell anyone Hisashi is gay and in a relationship with another man; Hisashi must never fall in love or make any advances on Mao; and one must not disturb the other's "personal time." Thus begins their second year of cohabitation. However, everything starts to crumble when the film club—of which Mao is a member—wants to cast Hisashi in the lead role for their upcoming movie. The problem arises with the movie's plot, as it is about boys' love—a romance between a delinquent and the class president. Mao is adamant to dissuade Hisashi from becoming the protagonist due to their first promise; but, to his surprise, Hisashi is easily convinced by the director. After imagining Hisashi as the delinquent he is playing, Mao becomes overly conscious of his presence. He knows Hisashi is just a friend and out of his reach, but Mao cannot keep lying to himself anymore—his feelings toward his roommate may no longer be purely platonic. There are still better and even masterpiece works in this genre such as Bokura no Micro na Shuumatsu, Kowagaranaide, Soba ni Ite, Sayonara Game, Yonin no Nibiiro, Haruka Tooki Ie, Sekai wa, Kimi no Toumei, Rumspringa no Joukei, Shinai naru Gene e, Ao no Flag, Utsukushii Koto, Hako no Naka and many many others. Honestly speaking, it is a pretty decent story and I can't understand how they can adapt it into TV series. 7 chapters only, they better make it into OVAs. |

| I remember reading the manga but I couldn't finish it cuz there wasn't enough translated chapters back then. But I really liked the beginning. Really looking forward to it. But I wish someday a BL manhwa gets an anime adaptation by a Japanese studio. There's so many good BL manhwas out there that deserves anime. |

Although I haven't read the manga, seeing an Erotica tag, the official art, a total of 16 chapters over both orginal and sequel and two single volume side stories are quite a few red flags. So I hope this won't hurt the reputation of BL Anime, after SasaMiya and Given slowly restored it over the past few years. |

| Oh wow... didn't expect it at all. I'll still watch it but I'm just curious what made them choose Tasogare Out Focus to adapt over other bl manga... And reading this thread makes me know that this manga has a sequel :"D I just read the first story.. maybe I'll read it again to remember what happened in the story |
