Ahhh, an episode without Yamato's "hybrid" (not a hybrid considering that it has snout and retains no human features) form, retaining that iconic, and authenticity.

Surprisingly last episode was not enough to defeat Big Mom, and this episodes continuing it forward.

Damn even the punk damned is CGI along with Momo. Huge noticeable in quality drop here. I am not liking the SFX used for this episode
even Henry knew how awful it is to use DBZ SFX for OP, the sfx has been playing for 1-2mins straight. And more afterwards....

WOAH, Law is able to cancel noise ?! THANK GOD we're saved from the DBZ Kamehameha SFX xD. But what I was not saved
is that ability that Yamato used, which was ice without her "Hybrid" form, which AGAIN what was the damn point of her zoan type fruit?! More to add on to the list on why this abomination is awful.

A lot of re-caps here. Goddamn. But it does not matter, because the base Yamato form saved this episode. And it was expected anyway
after Henry made the last episode.

BUT GODDAMN that is actually cool, an explosion with no sounds.
Woah why is Zunesha here?? Anyway, they should really pad the run time for Yamato,

I wasn't happy with the amount of flashbacks as Big Mom's life flashed before her eyes, especially seeing Roger's declaration AGAIN!, but I loved the end of Las/Kid vs. Big Mom. I know the manga made a lot of people think BM will come back, but that end looked kind of final to me.

A great way to end the fight with Big Mom, not as much of a powerhouse episode as last week and it still had its fair share of dazzling moments

Bro still waffling on about Yamato's hybrid form.

Anyway, Big Mom has finally been taken care of, now to move on to the final chunk of this arc. I highly doubt this will be the last we see of Big Mom though.

While Kid is still blasting Big Mom with Damned Punk, she has the AUDACITY to try to pull some bullshit and be like “I’m giving you guys two options; I take 50 years of your lifespans or you become my slaves.”

BITCH, PLEASE!

You’re not doing shit to the allies of none other than the Fifth Emperor! Big Mom uses Soul Pocus and starts taking the lives of those around her… except for the Surgeon of Death and Eustass “Captain” Kid. They aren’t afraid of her at all.

Law decides to give Big Mom the same treatment that Corazon gave him, so he uses Room to silence her. Now no one can hear her scream as she’s getting her cheeks penetrated. Kid adds on with another Damned Punk blast. Misery tries to help, but Law makes quick work of her.

Big Mom starts dropping down and she gets into the armory and causes one of the bombs to explode. This explosion is subdued by Yamato and Kazenbo wilts away. Big Mom is now falling down straight to the ground, completely off of Onigashima. Big Mom reflects back to Gol D. Roger’s execution.

Fukurokuji and Raizo are still both on fire in the midst of their struggle.

Big Mom thinks back to her life as she sees the Flower Capital on her way down and drops into what looks to be magma.

The narrator announces the official results of this battle, and Kid and Law have won. They have taken down an Emperor of the Sea.

Momonosuke hears Zunesha’s voice again and tells Yamato that he’s headed here and he says that he was a companion of Joyboy who committed a crime 800 years ago!

I CAN’T WAIT FOR MORE ONE PIECE!

Kind of disappointed in this ep,
A lot of flashbacks, without moving on. (Glad Kid/Law VS BM is over.

I want to watch the battle Luffy VS Kaido.

I loved Big Mom's final moments in the manga, and I loved them here, albeit the pacing really, really took a step back this episode (she has to be dead, like come on Oda, she's definitely dead)

For a defeat of an emperor of the sea, i expected better out of TOEI. This chapter in the manga was a pretty historic moment for the story and it was kind of just ok. Like come on TOIE is the staff that anti against big mom they don't want to put any effort into this triamph moment. I mean we literally defeated an emperor for the first time. Its all agenda piece at the end of the day. kaido's fight I am sure is going to have insane ammounts of budget poured into it.

The tenacity and endurance that the Emperors show is unbelievable. Even when Big Mom was under constant fire by Punk Damned, she was still able to use her soul pocus in the form of Life or Slave.

This was the same situation when Jimbei faced her on Whole Cake Island. Like him, Law and Kid showed no fear, making this attack totally ineffective. What surprised me enormously was the fact that Law not only presented another new technique we hadn't seen before, he was also able to completely silence Big Mom with it. So exactly the same thing Corazon did, so Law couldn't be heard by Doflamingo back then, proving once again why Law's Devil Fruit is one of the most unique ones in all of One Piece.

Still, it was a bit strange not hearing any screams, an attack sound, or the later explosion in the armory.
Luckily, Yamato was able to completely freeze the remaining explosives. This should definitely offer some protection.

Interesting question Big Mom asked when she was thinking back at Roger's execution and what he told the world about the One Piece. Could the One Piece also be found in Wano? Since we still don't have any real leads, this could very well be the case. Thinking about the reactions of Roger, Rayleigh, Oden and the rest of Roger's crew, you certainly wouldn't laugh when confronted with a gargantuan treasure. What also makes me questionable is the fact that Zunesha showed up in Wano. As a former companion to Joy Boy, so this must have a deeper meaning.

With the fall into the lava and the explosion that followed, it looked a lot like the end of Big Mom. But lets be honest. With her incredible stamina and toughness, I don't think this was the last time that we've seen her.

However, the mad lads Law and Kid did it and are the big winners of his fight. I can't imagine what this news will do to the world. Not to mention the insanely high bounty they both get.

big mom got hit with the realization that she's about to lose so hard that she started seeing flashbacks all the way back to roger's execution lmao. even got 1015 and some other stuff in there.
slow episode but law and kidd with the W over big mom and law looked pretty cool here.

an emporer has been taken down at last now on to the next!
also, it did feel weird not hearing explosions and stuff but that's how the ability works so fair enough lmao.

This ep was supposed to exemplify the vulnerability of big mom. Not sure if it captured that so well but essentially the idea is that big mom finally was taken down defeated and her life flashed before her eyes which prompted her to think about her ambitions and her goals in life, about obtaining the one piece and what the one piece even is? Kind of like a dying speech right before her last moments. It was actually a very strong and powerful moment in the manga. Personally I think TOEI could have elevated the scene with a better choice of music and much better animation. Like think of using Soul pocus again with 1015 levels of animation, maybe that would have grabbed the viewers attention more.

When the climax doesn't look as good as the episode before. Was it obvious? Yeah. Still sucks.

I will give credit for capturing the creepiness of a dying Big Mom. She's a monster our two former mega rookies of the Worst Generation weren't able to beat with conventional means. We needed a ring out + a pit of lava + a huge explosion on top of a barrage of Awakened attacks. Respect to her. I felt her despair and it was nice that Toei gave her a montage to save time We spent so much time with her, I will miss her for real mama mama.

However, the truth is that her monstrous qualities weren't enough to be Pirate King material. It's about attitude as well. Making excuses in your last moments? Actual big ball characters like Zoro would never

Challenges and misfortune are oart of life.

Lady, you weren't close. At least not that close to brag about it

Smoking on dat Big Mom pack doe

RIP Charlotte Linlin

Oh and another legend lost in this episode..no one less than Fukurokuju the great.

Congrats for Kid and Law for writing pirate history. These guys have still a thriving career ahead of them.

i know, it was definitely better in the manga as well because big mom's monologue didn't include the whole roger execution and the scene with zoro and the grim reaper but i know what they're doing lol so not really complaining. better music was a need though ngl.

Toei messed this up, we get to see Big Mom defeated and this is the effort they put in?
But the actual concept was cool.

While I do want  to see Big Mom again cos she got nerfed hard here, I hope she is actually dead.
Since OP rarely ever  kills off the big bads, it would be cool if she just got dropped into the lava in total silence and that was that.

Oda never offscreens death though. There is also either an explanation or an illustration to show that character has been killed.  There is alot of things alluding to the fact that big mom could potentually still be alive, not to mention before her descent into the lava, she even stated "don't think this will kill me" if that isn't a red hearing i don't know what is. Also I really dissagree with alot of the fandom that says this would be good for her character if she went out this way. No it wouldn't because that means all of the things that oda has setup for her would mean nothing and she would not have her glorious moment to shine as a character in the story because of the way she was treated in the wano arc. So no it would be terrible writing if oda just said ok thats the end of her character especialyl after she never seeked out puding for her awakening to try and read the ponyglphs, never persued the one piece. No I presume that she will have loftier ambitions that are still on the horizon maybe during the final saga that could even supercede kiado's. So only time will tell but im almost 90% sure she is still alive.

Episode was average in general, but really mediocre compared to last week's episode. A full chapter was adapted in this episode yet with all the flashbacks and overly long scenes (especially at the beginning), the pacing of the episode felt more tedious than usual. For such a major event in the arc, Toei didn't really do it justice.

Whoaaaa, so many cool things happened this episode.
For starters, we have Big Mom fighting Law and Kid in this episode, too, bc the previous one wasn't enough (I don't really care about this cause it redeemed itself with the animation).
Big Mom shows why she is called a Yonko, but also shows how low the respect she holds for herself by not admitting her loss and then blaming it on Roger.
In this episode, we see Law&Kids' true ability, which is mind-blowing. We love 2 powerfully kings.

Yamato did it. She killed that big fire ball that Orochi made, finally. She managed to seal off the entire basement (thanks to the plot armor) before the explosion happened, and Big Mom died.
The animation was just epic. I have to admit, there were some 3D animation, but we can't expect them to animate even the slightest details on Momonosuke, for example.
Overall, I liked this episode and that little detail at the end about JoyBoy and Zuneshia (HE IS FINALLY GONNA BE ANIMATED!!!).
I can't wait for the next episode!!!

The illustration of the death was off screen but oda still gave it a explanation and confirmation to the readers that he was dead, because it was explained and confirmed that the character died because the fruit was stolen and that is sort of how the OP world works with Devil fruits in paticular. Some fans even presume that Bon clay is dead just beacuse we have not seen him in along while but unless oda confirms it, he's still alive for all we know. I guess im jumping ahead to far for anime onlys, but even in the manga, there has not been any solid confirmation from the narrator or any other character that has proclaimed big mom has been killed directly or indirectly. Its like Sabo all over again. Fans years back said sabo was dead and never coming back and I was actually against that assumption, we never saw his dead body and the way it was off screened did not make any sence. Low and behold i was right, sabo wasn't dead and now he's a pretty instrumental character in the story. Same thing here sort of. Also there will be future events in the story that allude to the fact that the big mom pirates are still out. You can't always look at everything at face value, you have to read between the lines some times to. I mean I have certainly learned that alot now with one piece.

I saw that Law, Kid, and Luffy are gonna have the same bounty, which I find quite unfair. Luffy is fighting Kaido all by himself, Kadio having a bigger bounty than Big Mom, and on the other side, Law and Kid are fighting Big Mom together (so they help each other out). That's why I hope Law and Kid's bounty are gonna be a little lower.

Idk dude this lacked intensity and emotion for me, especially compared to the manga where I was on the edge of my seat.

The use of screeching sound effects from 1999 and the pacifista laser didn't help LOL

I forget how cool Yamato's powers are. Being able to freeze stuff like that is awesome. Pretty much a zoan + a toned-down version of Aokiji's fruit.

Lots of little flashbacks this episode to things we just saw... Like Zoro, and Law's slash.

Getting hype with Zunesha approaching though :D And let's gooo Snakeman next ep
