| Tenza was barely relevant before this episode so an ep fully dedicated to him that leads to him passing away in the end as a side character makes any kind of emotional impact this ep be tryin to do just fail dramatically. Hard to care for him before, and this ep didnt change much of my opinion and the climax left me feeling nothing for him too. Just a poor job to place this kind of episode for someone who was part of a couple scenes at best in the previous 7 episodes. |

| The fight scene is super average or slightly below average in Mappa standard, but the whole episode emotional buildup dedicated to the character is pretty spot on. I do find it such a waste the author dumping all those great characters super quickly like he always does. |
| am i the only one who kind of thought the tensen might actually let tenza live..??! (or heal him afterwards with immortality shiz?) when the tensen first appeared before them in the water and tenza instantly started attacking it i was like NOOOOOO because IT WAS BEING FRICKIN PEACEFUL AT FIRST and the tensen seem... wise....?? kind of??? (in a detached/godlike sort of way) like they don't seem to relate to human emotions but i still feel like there's the possibility they could be spoken to/convinced not to just instantly slaughter everyone if you just DON'T PROVOKE THEM...!!!!! like i wish tenza and nurugai had at least TRIED SPEAKING TO IT FIRST instead of instantly presenting themselves as an aggressive presence/threat to it, which forced it to see them as an enemy that needed to be disposed of. it just didn't want "change" on the island... so what if they told it "hey, show us where the elixir is, and EVERYONE WILL LEAVE the island so things can go back to the way you like them!!" BAM WOULD IT NOT BE CONVINCED BY THAT?! i mean THERE IS DEFINITELY A CHANCE C'MON AT LEAST *TRY* TALKING WITH IT the groot dude was amenable so i'm not putting it past the others having the potential for chillness too |

| Damn, things looked clunky, also didn't like the censorship, the writing felt off, we only knew the guy for one episode, and it just didn't hit me with the scene. |

| The student dying instead of the master is not something you see too often. I was sure his master Shion would be the one to sacrifice himself as Tenza and Nurugai fled to safety. Mad respect to this character. As for Shion, he has lost another who was once his pupil, but not for the same reason. Despite this tragic loss, Shion can be proud as a master that the one he taught went out with honor. |

I feel bad for the teacher though. He seems kinda cool but we'll see. Soo there's no interesting power system here at all? The ninjas seem to have some ninjutsu but even that is just... ight. Monsters are either jobbers or unkillable? More censorship... |

The gods are as they should be: thoughtless, unfeeling, immortal, and faster than sight itself; but the human heart always has guarded strengths and Tenza proved to be worthy of a god and to be a worthy student and companion of his teacher... |

| tenza and shion the GOATs, his sacrifice while shion runs in regret was a top 2 moment for me in the whole manga. the animation was better at times this episode but overall, still can't say much without criticism, unfortunately. and episode without mommy yuzuriha. |

| Being born into such bad circumstances, with parents who can't even feed you is the worst which could happen to any kid. Somehow Tenza managed to survive, but it was only a matter of time until he would've ended up as a criminal and therefor executed. If it wasn't for Shion who saw potantial in Tenza, only god knows what would've become of him. Since Tenza lived free and always did what he felt like doing, it was no surprise that he found it difficult to appreciate Shion's efforts. Same goes for his lack of motivation or never having experienced what it means to devote yourself to something. I honestly didn't expect a Tensen to appear before Tenza and Nurugai who were even trying to avoid anything dangerous. We got a glimpse of what the Tensen are capable of, so running was definitely the only logical decision. Unfortunately, the Tensen's regeneration power is simply too fast, making even an escape shear impossible. Without Shion, everything would have been over long before that. But even he could only provide a brief moment's breather. If you've watched anime long enough, you know that when a character's backstory is revealed, in most cases, they die. Unfortunately, this wasn't different. Nevertheless, great respect to Tenza, who made life difficult for Tensen until the end and enabled Shion and Nurugai to escape. Ultimately, Tenza can't blame himself. He took the second chance that Shion gave him for his life and even found someone in Nurugai that he could protect. RIP. |
