Tatsuya Takahashi (Kenja no Mago) is handling the series composition and penning the script. Shouko Yasuda (Happy Sugar Life) is designing the characters. The anime adapts Sai Sumimori's adventure fantasy light novel, which began on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in September 2018. Kodansha began releasing the series under its K Ranobe Books label in May 2019, featuring illustrations by Ai Takahashi. The fifth volume shipped in October 2021. Takahashi began drawing a manga adaptation on the Suiyoubi no Sirius web magazine in April 2019. Kodansha published the eighth volume on February 9. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English for digital release in September 2020 and the light novel in March 2022. The seventh manga volume went on sale on February 28.
