Here's my list:

  • Love.Com: The Movie
  • High School Debut
  • L: Change the World
  • Ping-Pong
  • Chihayafuru Part 1
  • The Battery
  • Daily Lives of High School Boys
  • Pornographer / The Novelist
  • Pornographer - Spring Life
  • Helter Skelter
  • My Love Story!!
  • Blue Spring
  • Antique
  • Rurouni Kenshin Part I: Origins
  • Orange
  • The 100th Love with You
  • JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable – Chapter 1
  • Little Forest: Summer/Autumn
  • Little Forest: Winter/Spring
  • Our Little Sister
  • Absolute Boyfriend (2008)
  • Double Mints
  • Mushi-Shi: The Movie
  • Honey and Clover

Although it's not a live-action adaptation of a manga, I've seen both the animated and live-action films of "Hana and Alice." I've also watched most of the "Kieta Hatsukoi" drama that came out, but I slacked off on finishing it (same with the "Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai vs Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko" drama although I only saw the first episode of that) and I've got my eye on the "Our Dining Table" drama, but I'm waiting for that to finish airing first.

It is not an accident that there is a complete absence of Western live-action adaptations on my list. However, I am cautiously optimistic for the "One Piece" show that's supposed to come out this year. Let's see if that comes to back to bite me in the ass.

Seen Fully [Manga/Anime]:
Ghost in The Shell
Blade of The Immortal
Bleach
Kakegurui
Alice in Borderland
Jinroh [Illang Wolf Band, as they made another name in Netflix]
Erased

I wanted to see but somehow couldn't find/maybe I'll search for them someday:
Kimiuso
Nana
Bakuman
One Week Friends
Nisekoi
ReLife
Tokyo Revengers
Space Brothers
Tomodachi Game
Grand Blue

Seen clips:
Death Note
Dragon Ball
Fmab
Saiki
Classroom Assasination
Chihayafuru
Gintama
Inuyashiki

Seen Based on Manhwa/Webtoon/Others:
K-Drama Tommorow
Hellbound
D.P.
All of Us Are Dead
Rugal
Uncanny Counter
Altered Carbon [Based on novel so no idea if I even can put it into category of Live Action]

That is all I've seen, all of them I've enjoyed when it comes to these which I've seen in full outside clips, cause those clips I know mainly because of how trashed some titles were and I suppose it is deserved and the others I know from comparissons ex. Assasination. From all of these the worst I would say was the 2nd season of Altered Carbon and if that doesn't count than I'd say 2nd season of Alice in Borderland, the best out of these hmmmm that's a tough one I think I'd pick Tommorow.

Live-action adaptations that I've seen, some good, some bad.
Some are Japanese live-action, some are Western/Hollywood.

Attack on Titan
Bleach
Death Note
Dragon Ball Evolution
Fullmetal Alchemist
Gantz
Ghost in the Shell
Inuyashiki
Parasyte The Maxim
Space Battleship Yamato
You're never too old to watch anime.
If I ever stop watching anime, check my pulse I'm likely dead.

I wake up with coffee & anime, I go to sleep with coffee & anime.

Not really into live-action adaptations since they have pretty nasty reputation. The only live-action I've seen was Death Note and no need to comment anything about that.

Not gonna lie, i'm kind of hyped for the One Piece live-action, since things are looking pretty good but i guess we have to wait and see.

It's really only the western adaptations that have a bad reputation. There's plenty of well done Japanese adaptations.

I watched just a few, I didn't particularly like any of them except the first Nana movie.

• Nana (the casting was pretty great, sadly lacked the amazing anime original soundtrack)
• Jojo Diamond is Unbreakable (thought it was ok, just lacking the flamboyant visuals of Jojo)
• Your Lie in April (I didn't watch the anime, just watched it on a pretty long flight, thought it was extremely corny)
•Ghost in the Shell (I actually like the visuals, sadly the story had to be rewritten in such a dumb way due to the whitewashing controversy)
•Alita: Battle Angel (didn't like it at all, haven't read the manga)

I plan to watch the Rose of Versailles movie and the infamous G Saviour (a Canadian TV movie adaptation of Gundam) someday lol

I feel the same way, I'm generally weary of live-action adaptations of Manga/Anime because I think there are things that at least appear not to be conveyed in the best way.
Having said this, when the passage from one medium to the other is done right, it can make really good films. I haven't seen many live-action adaptations but I'm a die-hard Kenshin fan and think that the Rurouni Kenshin film adaptations are really well-made.

Also, from the reviews I've read, the theatre version of Spirited Away is mind-blowingly well-made, and that I think is an enormous feat. It would already be hard to capture that magic in a live-action film but to be able to do it on stage is beyond incredible.

My other experience is Ghost in the Shell. To me, the parts that were faithful to the original movie, like the airplane flying by, Major's leap from the top of the building, and the fight scene with the hacked garbage man were amazing. Whenever the movie deviated from the original, things tended to go bad in the writing department, particularly.

Fullmetal is on my list as well. From the trailers, the effects seem really well made at least and Alphonse doesn't look weird haha

There’s probably dozens or even hundreds more that I haven’t seen. I couldn’t believe how many there were until I really started looking! They’re not all good (of course), but I did really enjoy each of the ones you named.

I'm sure there are, it's not possible to keep up with everything haha But it's wonderful to hear that my favourites are well made from someone like you who clearly has a lot of experience. Thank you so much for the feedback!!

Woah, from scrolling through this thread I didn't know there're so many live action anime/manga adaptations O-O Off the top of my head, I've only seen:

Death Note (Japanese, American version)
Liar Game (Japanese drama)
Hana Yori Dango (Korean drama)
Alice In Borderland S1 (Japanese drama, but dropped it halfway)

Νice thread, had before years a MyDramaList account but deleted it after a while cause I’m fed up with using many sites for stuff and just want to use as less as possible and had stopped watching and started again. I actually will keep updating on post what I’ve watched.

Title - Type - MAL Database - MDL Database - Status

Itaewon Class - Manhwa/Webtoon - Itaewon Class - Itaewon Class - Completed show haven’t translated to read.
Love Alarm - Manhwa/Webtoon - Love Alarm - Love Alarm - Completed show haven’t find translated to read.
Love Alarm 2 - Manhwa/Webtoon - Love Alarm 2 - Love Alarm 2 - Completed show haven’t find translated to read.
True Beauty - Manhwa/Webtoon - True Beauty - True Beauty - Completed both.
Recommend me some shoujo manga ♡
