Man, Caretaking Arc just hits differently.

On a serious note, we have already been there, we're going in circles. Author, it was a PERFECT place to end the story, now we're going to read 100 chapters of Seiichi taking crap from his mom who is bedridden. Both literally and metaphorically

Seiichi, my man, just destroy your phone, there's nothing good when somebody calls you. Move out of this city, change your name and start living a happy life. You've been on such a good track in this chapter.

It's great to see Seiichi finally getting his life back on track. Hopefully, the author doesn't ruin it by pulling some shit with the Mom's (most likely imminent) death.

Oh she won't die just yet.
She will become bedridden or smth like that. I think.
I really have no idea how can you squeeze more chapters out of this story...

Well, I hope she dies soon at least.  In any case, we'd definitely get a long "Deathbed" Arc before she dies. She's not croaking in the space of one chapter.

Well if Seiko is going to die pretty soon then I guess the end is in sight as there's not much left in Seiichi's life other than his mother unless Seiko ignite something in Seiichi or the author somehow bring Fukiishi back for whatever reason. But I still find it unlikely the story is going to end soon, I'm not an expert on this but generally a main part of the story should be longer than the prologue, the prologue itself is around 100 chapters and the main story hasn't even reached 100 chapters. I don't know whether the author can end the story whenever they want but if any that might not be because of bad sales since the text "More than X million copies sold..." still haunts the chapters, lol....

Oh absolutely, just look at Berserk and Vinland Saga. While there's no fixed rule about how long should prologue be, middle part, ending etc, usually the rest of the story is AT LEAST as long as said prologue

Well, then I guess the story is not going to end anytime soon until the story is in the 200 chapters range which is a long way to go considering the pace the author is releasing the chapters....and I think it's unlikely that the manga could reach the 200th chapter this year...

Of course not, not this year for sure. It will take few years to the 200th chapter.

Yeah still the only ending I could think (and prob fixed) is that everyone revolving around Seichi's past is dead gone and he can live his life for decades.

After returning to normal state and reaching tranquility, months are passing by... and suddenly, previously resched peace seems to be breaking apart with just one phone call. Even though he didn't see Seiko after that typhoon night, hearing about her having an accident must've been shocking to him, even if a little.

At least Seiichi managed to conquer his trauma and defeat demons of the past, who have been haunting him for so many years. He changed his life and doesn't want to commit suicide anymore. Hopefully he will stay like this.

Hmm... next to Shigeru there was Seiichi's aunt. Did it mean she had already died as well as Ichiro, her brother?
