| When I found out it's made by the same guy who made Chainsaw Man, I was scared it may be just another p0rn addict bait. Well, good thing it wasn't. I've already watched Perfect Blue and Paranoia Agent, so I know how to handle these kinds of works. You have to go beyond your imagination. Don't try to make sense out of it, you're watching through the eyes of the delusional MC. Works like these, where the line between the real world and the movie-being-shot is unclear, tend to remind us that we shouldn't get too obsessed with fictional creation for it may affect you, instead of you affecting the story. It was a flaming pile of garbage and a masterpiece at the same time. I liked it. |

| I haven't been that disappointed in a while. I guess most of the hype comes from Chainsaw fanatics (not making this up, try finding a review not mentioning it). The only interesting part was the "manga adaptation of a movie that doesn't exist" aspect, but that idea was mostly expressed as boring panelling. |

| The Eri movie could actually be the best movie sequel ever if the school's reactions are anything to go by lol If there were ever a manga panel worthy of a standing ovation, the final pinch of fantasy is definitely up there. Absolutely nailed it. |

| I'll just quote a random YouTube comment about the ending: DIASENREDS the whole point of the entire manga is "you believe what you want to believe" just like how yuta changed his mom and eri's character in the movie, we as the reader can "change" the ending as how we want to believe it to be. some people believe that eri is a real vampire, some believes that adult yuta is played by his dad, some believes that the entire manga is just a movie all along. it doesn't matter. the ending is what you, the reader want to believe it to be. I think this sums up this manga perfectly. |
| Dying makes you nicer... or not? Well uh, when is this gonna be adapted? You can (should) literally do its live action with a smartphone. Abnormal comedy mashed into deep existential shit and wtf moments, as expected. I'd call it a spoof story, as well as a love letter to cinema, completely and proudly fictional - that is, depending on what the reader thought of it. Honestly, the quirk factor was kinda distracting at times, and the body count was downright absurd, but I still think this is slightly better than Look Back, especially the characters. The paneling and backgrounds are insane, again, not a surprise. I took mostly three messages out of it: 1- treasure the time spent together with your loved ones, even when they're bitchy or bizarre 2- don't give a shit about what others think of you or your work / art is subjective 3- cool (?) guys don't look at explosions. |
