I've only recently started Black Clover and i think I'm at ep 15, but nothing so far has seemed to invest me unto the anime. When exactly does it start to pickup if it ever picks up?

it has a couple good moments scattered across the show but nothing that crazy. i guess that also depends on how much shounen you've seen. it's just decent, don't expect too much if you wanna continue.

go watch gintama instead (2)

Anyways, it's good, nothing groundbreaking in terms of anything really, but better than other modern shounen like MHA and Fairy Tail by a good margin.... although that's not really much of a high bar. At it's highest points it borders at an 8 but at its lowest points it borders a 3.

I started watching, got bored,left it on hold on 25 and therefore on completed the whole.
Don't give a shit about others.This anime has one of the best fighting scenes

Watch order of Kizumonogatari or whatever you call it collectively. (I have watched the three movies kizu1, kizu2, kizu3) And I dont want any made up, just how the show was aired from start to end

Yeah exactly l naruto had that exact same vibe at thr start. I was filled with hope everytime that he'd hit the rasengan but everytime he misses it and brah.

yes it is, the show gets better as you watch it. also, the first 15-20 episodes Asta has a really annoying voice, afterwards it gets better. U should get a list of the most important episodes early on and only watch those. Around episodes 60-70 it gets REALLY GOOD, and it keeps on escalating.

so be patient, it is worth it if u like fantasy anime

I love Black Clover but for me my favorite arc started at like ep 35 or smth but everyone’s favorite ar starts at like ep 80-100 I don’t remember

The show’s pretty alright tbh. It does get better later on but only barely in my opinion. If you don’t like the vibes of the early episodes then it prob won’t change your opinion later on.

There’s just a ton of other long running shows that you could be watching in the time that it would take you to catch up to Black Clover. Go watch Gintama instead (3)

I binged it from 20 to 115 and then from 115 to 170 so I would say it's one of my fav animes and manga, it has a slow start but it gets really good, a lot of people say it's a copy of Naruto but BC is better ( in my opinion ) but it's not better than One Piece or AOT tho so you should start it.

Black Clover ep35 is where you get the first visually good fight. Funny thing is ep34 looks like complete ass. After, most major fights progressively get better.

If you're talking about story, well, you're watching a battle shounen.

I got invested into it around the Dungeon arc. Which is where I think you might be. But if nothing is really keeping your attention right now, then it'd probably be best to drop it.

Oh I love the series. It's a bit slow at the start yes, but really picks up and just steam rolls after 60ish ep.
The entire elf arc is awesome. I love the power system and some of my favorite characters are here.
The story to come should also be epic.
15 eps is too early to judge.
You will have to be patient with the series.
It delivers.
Highly recommend 👌.

Come on people don't ruin the sanctity of Gintama by being toxic. Yes Gintama is goated but not for everyone and also arguably slower than black clover if they want to watch the shonen bits of the show. (Yes I know Gintama's appeal is not the shonen bits but people sometimes have a misconception like that goibg into it and I don't want people watching a show that is not their cup of tea)

To the original question though, this series might grow on you after a few episodes down the line. I sure I did, its not revolutionary but it is very much a fun and exciting show if you like shonen battle series. The best part would be the elf arc down the line. Give or take just be a tiny bit more patient if you can. If you cannot, drop it.

imo under water seabed arc. Personally it just gives you the essence of Black Clover. It got me invested immensely. This is around like 30-40 episodes I can't remember.

but could be different for anyone else. Ik people that only got hooked because of elf arc or like right in the beginning.

As a current-watcher at ep 80, I gotta admit it's the weakest shounen-show I've seen. Author does not know how to write characters at all, concept is unoriginal and it's too uncomplex, hell it makes Shippuden/Bleach stand out as Texhnolyze/Lain while BC is at the level of some Nickelodeon cartoon.
The beginning kinda had me hyped but the more that was unfolded the more I wondered "is that fucking it??"

There are far better long-running shows; Yu Yu Hakusho, Gintama, Naruto, Jojo's, even Initial D, Hajime no Ippo or Haikyuu if you're into sports anime.

i liked the first episode and the magic knight entrance exam episodes. so i was invested early on even if admittedly some of the other early episodes aren't anything special (and are filler-ish). i will say i've seen a lot of people with similar comments to yours over the years, and i think most of them usually were glad they kept watching. because i think most people agree that each arc is better than the previous one.

but like someone else in here has said, if you like it and want to watch it then watch it. if you don't like it and don't want to watch it then don't watch it. it doesn't need to be anymore complicated than that.

you're close to the 3rd arc (episodes 20-27). it definitely picks up there. and it leads into the 4th (episodes 28-39) and 5th (episodes 40-51) arcs. which, like i said earlier, each arc is better than the last imo. if you don't like it by the end of arc 5, absolutely do not keep watching. and quite frankly, if you don't think things get better in arc 3, you probably shouldn't keep watching anyways.
