| A very cute start for the beginning of this season. Sun Rong's new "rival" is a pretty fun addition to the cast, and hopefully she comes back up again throughout the season. The idea that it doesn't matter how well you cook something as much as what the food is in the first place is very relatable to me. The OP is another banger, especially the musical band performance at the end. While the OP makes it seem like this will be more laid back and have less stakes than the previous seasons, after how good this episode was, I wouldn't mind even if that was indeed the case. |

| Great first episode! Wang Ling is idiotically fascinated by those crispy noodles, lmao. Sun Rong on the other hand is trying hard to impress Wang Ling like a cliché girl in love. The new character, Yoshiko Kyuumiya has a rather refined and lovely character design but her attitude is rather unsettling after she murdered? (seeing as she burned one of them and only the eye accessory was left untouched.) one of her servants and I didn't think they would finally use a Japanese-like name for a character. There are so many fascinating new characters in the OP that I would really look forward to watching and the ED's lyrics are rather more of a Slice of Life that will really touch your heart. |

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |
| Okay that episode was definitely just a whole damn meme with the new transfer student proclaiming her desire to become the new best girl of faction 60 which I doubt will happen anytime soon. the ending part of their cooking battle had me giggling I have to admit and it gave me some good old vibes of food wars in the way Wang Ling sold the overjoy of eating some crispy noodles along with the added fact of the cheesy flashback of why the flavour is dear to him. OP was pretty light hearted despite the world now being basically invaded with demons. Although it does seem like the main focus of this season will be the faction battle between the exorcists and the cultivators but I don't see them ever being on Wang Ling's level at all. I was a little confused by how the headmaster now knows Wang Ling is his master from a long time ago, I may need to rewatch the previous seasons as I always thought the true identity of 'the worlds strongest cultivator' was unknown for the most part. Overall it was a nice reintroduction back into the series. 7.5/10 for the first episode, added on half a point because of the Link Click reference :D |

| It came back faster than I expected. It's great to see Wang Ling back and his curiousity for noodles. Rong's rival girl in being the best girl was pretty fun with the cooking battle in the end. Man, I do love her design. It's adorable as hell. So great to have this back, the opening is pretty good and the ED slaps. |

| Man... After the (mostly bad) 2nd season, here I start with an awful 1st episode. I seriously hope the next episodes pick it up, because the only thing that's pushing me along is how much I enjoyed the 1st season before. I really don't want to drop this... |

| So I'm assuming this is suppose to be a China vs Japan thing, with the obvious origin of the series winning. Not sure what subs I'm watching as trying to find translations for Chinese shows is often different but I'm assuming whatever 'Sunland' is, it's basically Japan, a.ka. the land of the rising sun as well as the girl having a completely Japanese name. It is quite amazing how much an impact Shokugeki has made on anime as well as shows outside of Japan. You really can't have eating scenes/contests without clothes exploding off and silly dream like sequences with over exaggerated analysis of the ingredients used. I don't have much expectations for this season since season 2 was pretty bad but I guess it's something I'll try to complete while multitasking. |
| Do the writers hate Sun Rong or something? She was introduced as a competently strong girl aside from our MC at least in Faction 60 school, and even became an actual potential romance interest for MC. Yet since S1 ended, she just continue to get kicked down lower and lower. S2 sees her getting humiliated by the Tang family several times, and in the sword fashion show after that and she basically did not do anything of note at all the entire season. Now here we are in the beginning of S3, and we are now introduced to a new rival for her, someone who doesn't even make elite class? Will her rival in S4 be a cardboard figure? lmao |
