A good episode after quite a long time.

Emi now knows both her parents are alive, which is great.

The part where Alciel and Maou regain their demon forms and the first thing Maou says to Raguiel is he will pour coal up his nose for some reason got me so good, got a good laugh outta me.

There was quite some info dump in the last part. It was Lailah who saved smol Maou, she wants to restore Ente Isla and heaven, it was because of her that Maou came to earth etc., it suddenly got interesting and that's when the season ends, great.

And I'm just glad those sonar whatever didn't burst Maou's new TV lol, imagine the look on Alciel's face if that would have happened haha.

Overall this was a decent season, not as great as season 1 that's for sure. But I will give this 8/10 because of the emotional attachment to the characters, otherwise this deserves 6 or 7 at best.

Season 3 is also announced and that too just next year, which is a great news but I'm afraid the adaption will suffer quality problems or a rushed adaptation. IDK let's see how it will be, just happy to have an annoucement.

felt like this could've been a really good "build up" season. but of course they ruined it by absolutely crushing all of the hype we had for this 2nd season just by the 1st ep, and didnt have anything worth to recover from it lol. this season was lackluster. felt like a boring sol with "comedy" that isnt even comedy. i laughed to almost every joke made from the last season and barely laughed at all for this one. great job to the seiyuu's, happy they still did their roles well

A rather underwhelming and crappy season. That final action scene was really bad.

And was this missing button detail really necessary????? (Eye roll)

Just how?

Fans are so hyped for the comeback only to get the disappointment.

It was interesting to understand how much Lailah has played her part in the whole story, with her saving Maou when he was younger, sending him to Japan and playing her part in helping the group's fight against Gabriel and Raguel. Emilia is also relieved that her dad is still alive which, after knowing about her mother Lailah being alive a few episodes, put her mind to ease and helped to get her desire to fight again.

Even then, the way Lailah controlled Chiho while giving Maou the info dump was a bit weird. Either way, he now has a big T.V in his apartment and it was cute to see Urushihara and Suzuno struggling to understand in how the remote control worked. XD

Overall, this second season does leave me with slight mixed thoughts. In a way, I would compare it to Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 and A Certain Magical Index Season 3, in which while the story is still interesting and the comedy is still good, the pacing is too rushed in all three and the production values are very lackluster as well. It's deja vu, but for a different genre of series this time.

While I'm happy that there's a 3rd season coming next year and I'll definitely watch it, I'm hoping the staff can improve on the pacing and production values.

6/10 is what I'll rate it for now.

Disappointed with the way this one turned out. Maybe I'm just remembering the first season wrong, but that one actually made me laugh a bit. This one hasn't really had any moments like that, and the animation really took a turn for the worst.

Ashiya and Maou having to take the train to go to the tower was hilarious.

It was pretty nice to see Chiho get some powers even if it was temporary.

Lailah saying to Chiho to say "Leave me alone, dummy" and to stick her tongue out at Urushihara xD. Do they know each other?

So Emi's father is alive and on Earth huh.

Suzuno's reaction when Urushihara turned on the TV was cute and then watching her press the buttons on the remote control <3.

All the fun aside, for a final fight, that was kind of underwhelming. But oh well, at least it was cool to see Chiho join the battle.

Anyway, I didn't watch the first season when it came out but it has been about 6-7 years since then and I had given up hope for a sequel, so the announcement of this one after so many years was really exciting. Sure, this season had its problems but the characters and interactions are still there and I personally had a lot of fun. Thank goodness there is already a sequel announced, I'm looking forward to it.

Chiho best girl btw <3.

Hmm, I don't know what I should think of this finale. I had higher expectations for the fight, but it turned out as it did. It was interesting to hear about all the new information this episode provided, which kinda hyped me up for the next season. Also, it was cute seeing Alas Ramus cheer up Emi.

So, how long did it take this show to fire on all cylinders? 12 episodes? Isn't that the season's entire episode count? Whatever. The season is over just when it was starting to get good.

The confrontation in the middle of the episode felt like a nice cathartic release after 11 episodes of overextended buildup, but the simple fact is that a single episode isn't enough to redeem an entire season in which almost nothing of importance happens. In fact, most of the season's dramatic heavylifting happened in this single episode.

I'm sure everyone here already knows that season 3 is on the way and I sincerely hope that season 3 is better than season 2, but season 3 has an uphill battle to fight to regain my trust.

If nothing else, I still have Date A Live.

I enjoyed it. Feels like there was a lot of filler this season and that some of that time could have been more productively spent building up for a more satisfying finale, but what we got was fun enough.

Unfortunately Gabriel is too conflict-averse to be a decent antagonist, so the stakes felt pretty damn low even at the climax of the episode. It'll be interesting to see if the one-big-happy-family dynamic gets swept aside at some point in the future; one of the more interesting moments of the first season was seeing that the Hero wasn't prepared to just forgive and forget Satan's crimes, but that feels like a long time ago now.

I normally don't like shows with child characters (or which suddenly introduce child characters), but this one ended up pretty good for the most part.

I guess the main issue is that Gabriel wasn't much of an antagonist and it's kind of annoying to keep seeing the demons losing in combat.

It’s very underwhelming. Like the first season is one of those nostalgic animes that had great animation and a really good plot. This second season was okay don’t get me wrong I’m not hating on it. But it just feels almost rushed if that makes sense? The animation feels like they failed replicating the first seasons, understandably so since it’s been years. The plot also feels very random and all over the place. There’s also way less focus on what made the first season great in my opinion, that being more scenes when Maou is actually Satan, as well as just the regular McDonald’s scenes. Overall it was okay. I’m hoping it there’s a season 3 they can try to focus on one major plot instead of 20 mini ones.

This is mid as can be. Makes me wonder if the first season was half as good as I remember. Haven't seen since it aired 9 years ago. So, it probable me how changed. I liked the first one as it was fresh with the reverse isekai. Now, I don't want to go back and re-watched it.

I'm a little disappointed with this episode, it's very uncomfortable to watch starting from the character's body movements and character settings. Overall this anime is a bit disappointing and there are some moments that I quite like. I heard this anime got season 3, hopefully the next season won't disappoint.

hope next will be better 6/10

The split in heaven is being Emi's existence demystifies angels to their human worshipers.. It parallels with how she learnt Maou and the demon race can die, and have children and parents just like humans can (Lailah calls him by his birth name Satan Jacob)
Back to the first season where Ente Islans took that energy drink supplement thing to replenish their mana.
Both of Emilia's parents are alive on Earth. Her whole reason for living, revenge on Satan, is shattered.

Gag shows really fall off once they start taking themselves way too seriously (see OPM S2). I don't even mind them focusing more on the story honestly. I always kinda knew they were heading in that direction since behind all the comedy, there was still a plot in the background that served as a backdrop for all the funny antics so it makes sense for the story to move forward as well if we want to keep things going. The problem is the show just stopped being funny altogether. It completely lost its charm and devoid of everything that made people love the first season. The characters just seem like parodies of their own selves. Ashiya used to be the funniest guy in the show and now every scene of his is just him nagging over the same stuff. It's like they picked one trait from each character to repeat ad nauseam through the whole run to have some sort of semblance of the former wittiness the show used to have. The new characters are fine I guess. Alas Ramus was cute but was out-of-commission for most of the show so I'm not sure what they're doing with her aside from advancing the romance aspect of the show. Gabriel's most notable characteristic is being voiced by Ozymandias and Dio's VA. The other angel was just there but he barely appeared so I don't fault him for that. To keep it simple the characters are all flat.

There are some interesting stuff they brought up but never really delve deeper into but that's fine since the story's clearly still progressing to unravel all the mysteries and worldbuilding. The character designs are a huge downgrade. Yes, I'm aware it looks closer to the actual LN art and idgaf lol. The animation is subpar. S1 didn't have that many fights but when they do, they look awesome, iconic and are remembered. Just finished the show but if you asked me to name one epic moment I could remember on top of my head, I probably wouldn't be able to give an immediate answer lol. That's how forgettable it was to me.

Overall, just really underwhelming sequel to one of the most beloved anime of all time even after all that hype. S1 showed just how fun reverse isekai could be and all the gimmicks that come with it. I feel like this is some transition phase for the show before it goes deeper into its main storyline. Not gonna lie, I kinda saw this coming. They probably wouldn't be able to sustain the show's premise in S1 without it turning into another slice-of-life show so it was about time they start expanding more on everyone's backstories and stuff. Like I said, I didn't mind them focusing more on the story. I guess I'm just let down the show just didn't feel the same anymore. Nostalgia can be such a bitch. Gonna have to start adapting to the show's direction if I'm gonna watch the third season so I won't get disappointed I guess.

Hm, hard.. very hard. Lots of mixed feelings.

Even though I have watched 1st season a long time ago, this 2nd season definitely not on pair with season 1.

The first 3 episodes were the ones I enjoyed most. Then, the art abruptly dropped quality - hentai art? Wtf was that xD Then in the 3/3 half the art started to get better again and it reached its climax just in the last few minutes of this episode xD

Although I have to say that my main problem is not the art, the art is a secondary factor for me; a bonus.
I don´t know... the main problem was... the comedy was not enough? the exciting scenes were almost nonexistent and the fighting scenes were... meh (although Gabriel x Alas Ramus in the first episodes was funny). It has a few funny scenes, but those were just a few among many.

Anyway... it´s a shame. It´s not like I disliked, but it turned out to be an ordinary anime. I believe if it weren´t for some simple yet cute Alas Ramus scenes I would have enjoyed even less? xD Anyway...

Hope the 3rd season gets better.

6.5/10 if possible, but sadly it´s not an option here so 6/10 will be my choice.

The battle was a little bit more anticlimatic than I expected.

First of all, I didn't expect Gabriel to have any involvement in this and I honestly didn't expect a full out battle. I also didn't expect Chiho to be involved in any way, but this begs the question of who Lila is.

She is likely the one who helped Mao become Demon King Satan, and she is likely the one who used Chiho's body to fight off the Watcher.

But at the hospital she possessed Chiho's body and referred to Mao as some unique name and talked about restoring the worlds as well as stating that Mao being in Japan wasn't an accident.

I can't wait for this series to continue. I really like how they added a new mystery to keep the audience guessing.

Seems like ppl disliked this season, but I loved it. I felt like we learned a lot. We’ve waited years for further adaptations of this and I’m not disappointed. That’s all that matters to me. Yea sure the final battle wasn’t spectacular by any means, but the fights never made the series for me. I loved the comedy and character interactions just like in season 1. So I’m still interested to see what happens next, hopefully we get to see more of Ente Isla and Emi’s dad. Though I feel like we shouldn’t trust him in the slightest.
