It's probably a top 40, 50 for me, which is not bad at all, but definitely not remarkable.

I understand the animation is amazing, but the story itself is ok at best, which is the most important thing to me. I don't really got attached to any of the characters either. You do you, but KnY is a pop phenomenon I really can't figure why hit so much.

Edit: I checked my list and it should be around 60th to 70th actually.

Yes. Demon Slayer is a simple story well done with very few plot holes and is very enjoyable. Lile seriously, some anime watchers dwell into anime saying saying that an anime needs a top tier story to be good, while the main thing about watching shows is enjoyment. It's stupid rly

I agree with the premise you said, you should always rate something considering how it stood within you more than the technical factors, but my enjoyment is way more related to the story than the animation.

While I do appreciate some beautiful animation, I'm not really a battle shounen type of guy, so it's not what sells me a show. Albeit I recognize KnY as one of the GOATs on that regard, it doesn't really weights too much for my overall satisfaction.

Without Zenitsu this anime would definitely be in my top 10 though but Zenitsu just fucking ruins it. That mother fucker is the definition of "Tonal Whiplash", the shit I hate the most in animes.

Nope. I'm grew up watching old shounens so everything shown in Demon Slayer or JJK feels repetitive to me. Not saying they are bad, it just feels like I've been through this formula already so it cant be at top as I dont feel like im watching anything new.

Absolutely not, I really liked the beginning but I find the end sloppy. Very disappointed by the end of the manga.
However the animation is superb and it's a real pleasure to see this anime

Nope. S1 had some really good moments, altough it wasn't consistent, S2 was great. But somehow I just couldn't connect to any of the characters. I like DS but it's not one of my favorites.

if it's based on graphics and bgm maybe one of them i guess? but overall my top 10 is dominated by anime that has a heartbreaking scene or great plot.. well kny plot is good too.. tho.
