| Congratulations for the 100th chapter of Tomodachi Game, here's a long summary for those who can not wait for the Eng trans. So at the first page, we've got to see the flashback of a conversation between Yuuichi and Shiba Taizen. Yuuichi came up with an idea of a cool game and named it Tomodachi Game (Friend Game). As Shiba told Yuuichi about it being an childish name, Yuuichi then decided to rename it by using Kanji characters. The pronunciation still retained as Tomodachi Game but had a different meaning: Throw-Away-Friend Game (Please revisit the last panel of chapter 87 for full analyzation). Shiba asked Yuuichi about the purpose of the game and Yuuichi stated it as to confirm whether what Yuka (Yuuichi’s adoptive mother) said about friends being more important than money was true or not. The story then moved to the scene of Shibe’s father (I will just call him as Shibe now for short) meeting Yuka at the hospital. Yuka told Shibe about her health condition had been deteriorating over time and it was so weak that she couldn’t sustain a several hour surgery. As Yuka also mentioned about the money problem, Shibe relieved her by saying he would pay all the hospital fees on her behalf because he believed ”Friend is more important than money”. When Yuka told Shibe about adopting and being a familiy with Yuuichi, Shibe started sobbing. He regretted that he couldn’t go against his father’s will and become her family. It revealed that Shibe and Yuka not only used to be classmates but also lovers and until that moment, Shibe’s feelings towards Yuka was still strong. Shibe promised to protect Yuka by any means and at any cost. Shibe went outside the hospital and about to leave when Shiba confronted him and claimed to be Yuuichi’s guardian. The two then went to a café and had a conversation. Shiba there asked Shibe if he valued friend above money and threatened him to play Tomodachi Game. Shiba told Shibe that Yuka was still at good condition only because Yuuichi was acting like a good child. Thus, if Shibe didn’t give him 1M Yen Per Month he would then order Yuuichi to become a devil to crush Yuka’s mind. Shibe angrily handed money over Shiba and told him to stop that joke but Shiba just calmly reacted. Shiba offered Shibe a “1 month free trial” of Yuuichi being a good boy as to promote him. One month had passed and Shibe went to the doctor to check about Yuka. The doc told him that her health had improved dramatically and it was thanks to Yuuichi. Without him, her health would have been much more worse. After that, Shibe went to Shiba and paid him off, hoping it was the last time they met each other. Another month had passed. However, that time the doc told Shibe that Yuka wasn’t ready for the surgery since her condition suddenly and drastically deteriorated. It might required atleast 6 months for her to be under supervision. Shibe then went and asked Yuka if Yuuichi was the reason for her decline in health. Suprisingly, Yuka told him the opposite, Yuuichi instead was the one who keep her alive until then. In the next scene, there’re Shibe had a quarrel with his wife. The wife told him that they could no longer be able to hide her father to stealthily stole the money. Shibe bluntly admitted he need money to save his dearest friend. His wife started crying, told him that his family was actually the most important and he should value them above some strangers. One year had passed. Shibe’s at his wits’ end and finally met Yuuihi. Shibe begged Yuuichi not to listen to Shiba and made Yuka happy. However, Yuuichi just nonchalantly reacted and admitted he’s the one who devised the Tomodachi Game and there’re also other people who joined this game to help Yuka. Yuuichi then stated that the condition for this game to end was someone speaking to him and Shibe was the first person to do that. Yuuichi explained it as Shibe couldn’t pay off the money and had to throw away his friend. Yuuichi thought of Shibe as a hypocrite who value money above friend. And thus the flashback ended with Shibe being dumbfounded and speechless. |

| How is this a game that "test" friendship? If I keep asking you money, you cannot give me then you are selfish guy that doesn't care about friend? That mean every poor guys in the world are selfish and friendless? What an utter bullshit backstory for Tomodachi game origin. |

Something unreasonable and irrational is what you would expect from guy like him. |

What I am saying is that this is basically a super uber normal blackmail scenario, but the manga author give it a fancy name Tomodachi game. |

If it wasn't for Shiba Taizen, Yuuichi would have been a good hearted person. He is still a good person, but his other personality rises up and changes him. |
| We in the triple digits now. Kinda hard to blame Shibe after a revelation like that, but there's clearly more to the story about his Dad. |
