| I don't really like Fairy Tail, but my favorite character out of it was definetely Lucy, which the FT fans seem to despise (kind of like Sakura in Naruto). She's weak, sure. But thing is, she's the most "real" character in a cast full of unrelatable, over-the-top, power of friendship power-up people. Also, unlike in Naruto, where they try to prop up Sakura to the level of the other characters out of nowhere, Lucy goes through some believable development before getting stronger, and even then the show doesn't try to pretend she's on the same level as the MCs. And she's likeable, unlike Sakura. In a sense, she's a poor man's version of Maka from Soul Eater (manga). |

The thing is, the light novel does go into graphic details of subaru's torture so you can empathize with it, but in the anime medium they cut that out and add in his shrill screams without the descriptive torture to back it up lol. |

| I have a few: Makoto Sawatari from Kanon, after finding out her secret I was able to sympathize a lot more with her, despite her actions. That inspector in Psycho Pass 2 who everyone seems to hate, I wasn’t a fan of her personality but I still think she was a well-written character. Mera from Saiki K is actually one of the funniest characters in the series if you ask me. Keisuke (aka Misuzu’s dad) from Air, I think people forget that he has no idea of what’s going one and is inexperienced at parenting. He messed up badly, but I can’t say I hate him (except in the movie). |

| Off the top of my head, I'll say Kyubey from Madoka. Not sure if she's hated after the movie, but I still like Homura. I don't dislike Kururugi from Code Geass, if that counts. Not one of my favorites, but he's fine. I liked Near in Death Note. The MC from Maho no tabitabi. Not sure how hated she is, but I know a lot of people dislike the show because of her. Tobias from the pokémon league of D/P/PT. Those are the ones I remember. |

| Korekiyo from Danganronpa Mitsuboshi from Happy Sugar Life They are both hated for the same reason... Also Ugetsu from Given. He has a lot of fans too but some Given fans hate him because he is “toxic and ruines their ship” but to me he is the most realistic and relatable character. |

| I never understood that huge hate against Danzo. He wasn't a irredeemably evil, but there is absolutely nothing that would earn him such a hate that he has within the anime community. Is it because he killed a frog? |

I also can´t say I loved Fairy tail, it was passable at best, but yeah Lucy was the only character I cared about from the whole cast. |
