Steampunk, for me it's uncharted territory. The only ones i know are Last Exile and Koutetsujou no Kabaneri and Fullmetal Alchemist has elements of it but isn't.

You didn't watch Steamboy

Last Exile was dieselpunk I thought.

Anything fantasy that is not the freaking Isekai formula. If someone has to go into a different world s/he doesn't necessarily have to encounter video game elements, a demon lord, random skills coming out of their asses, a goddess or whatever bullshit harem they get. Fantasy has absolutely endless possibilities, but Isekai trash animes just copy the same single gimmick over and over endlessly and end up with a very laughably bad result.
Also, just because a MC was X years old in their old life they shouldn't be horny 24/7 and sexually harass females in their new world. It gets boring really fast and its definitely not what I would define as "good content" regardless of what some people think of stuff like Jobless reincarnation.

I'd like to see more science fiction mysteries, or sci-fi which has an ancient lore and such. The future is boring if we forget all the past~
No watch list sig cuz "You watch anime in 3 days or 3 months! Such is the proper way!"

I'd love more space opera that moonlight as political dramas. Like Legend of the Galactic Heroes or Star Wars or the Expanse. The kind of shows that have something interesting to say about the world we live in.

I think that's what Five Star Stories tried to do, but it's hard to develop lore in a mere hour.

Space war between humans and aliens. Like one with the movie "enders game" but better. It's a bit childish but I'd like to see that kind of stuff.

I know this might not exactly qualify as science fiction, but there hasn't really been many good original dramatic zombie post apocalyptic survival Animes made. At least not as straight forward as titles like "School-Live!" or "Highschool of the Dead". Which one of them is a CGDCT while the other is riddled with fanservice being an ecchi themed. While both of them are school themed as well.

I am not going to count "Resident Evil" because that franchise isn't exactly fresh anymore. I remember they made an animated movie around 2008 but it felt like I was just watching a long CGI cutscene from the video games.

There just hasn't been very many good straight forward zombie apocalypse series made into Anime. Most of the good ones I have already seen now too. The closest thing I have seen recently to a good zombie apocalypse Anime was "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" and that was more fantasy oriented.

I'm just gonna be extremely specific: Warhammer 40k anime could be awesome.

We need more cyberpunk, specifically the same type as Blame. A setting where it all takes place in a single city of such an absurd scale it takes decades to centuries to walk from one populated area to the next.

I also want more series where the cast travels around the universe visiting various places as part of thier job like in Kiddy Grade, for example. Used to be common, now they're a rarity

lastly, space operas

I too want to see more science fantasy. Outlaw Star and Lost Universe are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Can we also have a new season of outlaw star as well too.
