| Why is Attack on Titan so overrated? It really is not even close to being one of the best shows ever. I thought FMA: Brotherhood was overrated but at least that show got better at the end whereas AoT did the opposite. The first couple seasons were good, then it went downhill as we began to see there was no depth or direction. Rather, the direction was into the toilet. I don't think it's a good thing when newcomers to anime (or just people who haven't watched the show) are led to believe that AoT is the best thing ever when there are so many works that far surpass it in every way. I guess when a show becomes so pop-culture it invites a horde of sheep to prop it up as the best... Share your thoughts. |

| Yeah just saying that you shouldn't bash another anime with Naruto all over your forum set. It will just make people a lot more toxic towards you. As for your statement aot is one of my favorite anime of all time but it's not the best or 'peak fiction' as others call it. For me it's just shy of a masterpiece. I could care less how much love or hate the series gets. |
| I think you're full of baloney. A weak opinion from someone who just doesn't like a show and wants everyone to think like they do. AoT has some of the strongest story direction i've ever seen in anime. Most anime clearly just make shit up episode to episode, arc to arc with no clear road map. where as AoT shows many signs of being heavily thought out. From plot structure to setting, there is so much info there that we even get measurements and blueprints for some of the structures and gear found in that world. I don't even understand how you can claim that the show has no depth when it takes such a nuanced approach to so many themes with the biggest one obviously being war, racism and how the past affects the present and future. If you dont like what AoT became, that's fine. No need to be butt hurt over the fact the many people do like it. Or I guess we should all just bow to the things you deem worthy. |

I would understand that someone doesn't like when a show pretends to be one thing just to make a huge change in direction. I usually wouldn't like that either . But aots direction shift makes perfect sense for the type of story it is. Definitely agreeing on your points here . |

| I don’t know what you guys see in this anime but to me it’s just your average ecchi romcom. It’s not like I hate ecchi or anything it’s just I’m surprised that an anime like this is being rated this highly. From the first 3 episodes this anime just seems like a generic seasonal romcom that deserves like a 7.6 max. |

| Dont worry, why newcomers will think AOT is the best anime ever? After they finish to watch Death Note, if they are interested in watching more anime, they will check top anime page, see that FMA:B is in 1st place, they will watch it because it's placed as the best anime ever, they will realize is the best masterpiece this medium has ever made and then they willnt need to watch more anime, they will just quit the medium and move to other stuff. |
