She has her moments, but overall she stays one of the more annoying members of the crew imo. Though overall she's not that important, so it shouldn't diminish your enjoyment of the show too much.

A grown woman who's life was stolen when she was still 10. There's a reason as to why the quote "Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover" exist.
About the number of episodes, you need to realize that this is one piece (a show that gives an arc for each of it's main character)
Ep. 1-3 (Zoro)
Ep. 9-18 (Usopp)
Ep. 19-30 (Sanji)
Ep. 31-44 (Nami)

The current Nami you're seeing is only a facade whom she got used to pretending. The real Nami will be shown during Arlong and the entirety of the series.
Don't expect much from her Action-wised as she is the least impressive in the crew in that area.
She might be bad when it comes to combat but she is the only person who can Navigate (which is the most important job in a ship) in the crew.
About loyalty, she's one of the most Loyal (everyone is loyal in the SHC) to Luffy and her betrayal pre-Arlong is justifiable as she has a strong hate towards pirates (which is explained in Arlong Park).

About Coby, you would see more from him in the future (but he's not the same as his past self)

Im up to episode 230ish and have it on hold, but Nami is probably my least favorite character by far. All of the other characters are cool though so it does not completely ruin it at all

She's an important character in-universe but plot-wise not that much (without counting her importance in locating and sending the crew to the location of the One Piece by the end)

Nami isnt luffy's crew member too,not yet. She is just with them for some time and it will be revealed why she was with them in the arlong park arc. Why dont you just watch the show first and understand somethings first? Like i said, her role and importance will be revealed in the arlong park arc and when the crew will reach grand line. Just watch the show first,understand every character and then make threads of liking and disliking a a character.

Lol. Aside from her sea chart skills, she's also gifted like no one else. Several characters have already pointed out her remarkable ability to foresee the sudden change of weather. The are plenty of scenes, even post Enies Lobby where she proves her worth. She's also essential to reach the final island. Noteworthy is also that she approached Luffy in the first place. And she's a capable fighter.

You know that East Blue is the weakest out of the 4 seas, the probability of Luffy, Zoro, Usopp and Sanji finding a talented/skilled Navigator is lower than them surviving their next trip alive.

Vivi (a Royal Princess of Alabasta) even stated that she never seen a Navigator like her when Nami predicted the weird weather without any experience and that's only one of her skills in naviagtion.

I have already watched 1000 episodes of One Piece and read 1030+ chapters of the manga so I have more than the right to lay out my opinion.

Nami didn't really annoy me in the earlier episodes and until now, and I also do not hate Sakura like every single human being in the world do. You're just 20 episodes in and you're already complaining. Do note that One Piece has now over 1000 episodes. I suggest to drop One Piece now. Nami is a very important character and if you are already annoyed at her just 20 episodes in, then you probably won't like her in the future too.

The strawhats have each their own position to fulfill. Luffy as the captain, Zoro as the unofficial vice, Usopp as the sniper, and Nami as the NAVIGATOR. (More strawhats will come but of course I won't spoil) So Nami is here to navigate the ship. Not necessarily to fight. But she also do know how to fight when it comes down to it.

Now to your question, does Nami get better? I don't really have any problem with Nami ever since. Since she was introduced, she value money a lot and loves money (watch her backstory to understand please.) and until now up to what I am watching and reading, she still has the same attitude. If you're referring to her fighting skills, she will have an upgrade in her weapon and

Aside from that, Nami is still the same as ever and same as every strawhat member. Pre-timeskip and Post-timeskip. So if you don't like them already, drop.

No one's forcing you to watch One Piece. One Piece is a journey. It's an adventure. It has been running for over 2 decades already. With that knowledge in mind, I guess in the end its up to you.

That's not the reason they hate Sakura she is too full of herself
