| I thought of making this thread because recently I had been seeing a lot of hate towards shounen anime and there are many bait threads being made. I can understand why shounen is hated. The quality of shounen has degraded over the past few years but still there are many good shounen anime.So which are your top 5 favourite shounen anime? HxH is a good choice HxH is in my top 10. I think I need to rewatch it sometime to get more attached to that show. In terms of plot and story,it is the best shounen. |

| Shounen-based adaptations are usually the worst, for example i love One Piece and Hunter x Hunter manga but i'd never put them in a top anime, also Dragon Ball inevitably fall down a lot in the ranks too. That being said 1- Ashita no Joe (the second season of the anime did even better than the manga in some points, and well, the manga is already a legendary masterpiece) 2- SNK (first two seasons better than the manga, the rest on the same level imo) 3- Death note (as good as the manga) 4- FMA: B (Not as good as the manga but very good) 5- Dragon Ball (first series) btw i didn't include any anime original because, well, they're not shounen lol. Technically shounen anime doesn't exist, we can use it colloquially when talking about shounen manga-inspired anime, but if it's original there's no point in talking about "shounen". No, tropes, having kids as protagonists or any of those doesn't count |

It has around 30-40 fillers so I thought it should be between 7 and 8. 7 is not a bad rating if you go and look into my rating of other anime. Now actually I changed it's rating to 8. Now it is fixed for 8. I will neither increase nor decrease Even with fillers I it enjoyed it but after ep 76 it started to get boring. |

Aku no Hana (#22 in overall Top 35) Yes, I'm fully aware that not all of these - specifically the last three - are thought of typically to be Shounen or widely known and recognized as Shounen, but they are every bit as much, which serves to demonstrate and further the point that Shounen can do and be anything really. And it's exactly the same for the other demographic labels. I believe a larger share of my Top 20 and Top 35 series in general are a mixture of Seinen and those without any demographic categorization at all, because they're anime originals or based on doujinshi, light novels, regular novels, visual novels, or some other source. |
