Is there really such a thing as normal? as everyone if you played Danganronpa has a different view of what is normal to them and what is abnormal to them as well too.

So it can be a pretty subjective thing to you like in my case for example, its normal for me to be very cynical and pessimistic to just about anything and everything but you may see it as otherwise.

So what do you think is normal or abnormal to you?

In 2nd game, Nagito is normal to me and others are, overall, a stupid primitive mob with not a spark of original thought whatsoever lol

I don't like that word at all, to be honest. But I'm guilty of using it too, of course. I, mostly, use "normal" as an insult, i.e. people who are too standard in a way they think, act etc. Therefore, I don't really need a word like "abnormal", since "normal" is already used both as an insult and a way to describe something alien to me. I'd rather use "strange" for something atypical, that I don't understand or find weird. I rarely find myself thinking in those categories, so I can't really answer with examples :( maybe people who want to be bald or have facial hair are "abnormal" to me, from aesthetic perspective lol I don't know. In general, I feel it's one of those situations, where a lot of things painted by society as "normal" would seem "abnormal" to me and the other way around, if we're going by those terms.

LOL yeah Nagito was the only normie out of the entire group.

And i think i see where you're coming from with the way you feel on "normalcy".

Normality I guess it's just being decent/average.

Normality is in everything as an average height let's say it's around 170-180, than that's normal, if you're smaller or taller than it's not normal, cause you're exceeding from the scale and by that we can go into everything else, likings, interests, ratings, grades, educations, job results, gaming, health, weight etc. etc.

That's it from my view, nothing more or less.

Haven't play dangan so I will skip that part of thread.

It depends on the context. If you are talking about social normality, then this is some "average" person who has a family, work and mainstream hobbies. Of course, straight and without any fetishes. In general, everything that you could see as "family values" in the 50s.

If we talk about personal normality, then I would only talk about people who are friendly, adequate and devoid of any quirks (sorry Deku). You can be a punk bi swinger with 90% body tattoos who plays noisecore and eats only fruit, if you are a good person, then you are normal to me.

Majority = normal.

If you stand out from the rest like wearing a pink dress as a guy, you aren't normal.
If you jerk off to scat and other nasty shit, you aren't normal.

Uh, that's a good question actually. I never thought about what is normal and what is not, especially since it's a blurry line, imho. Someone would say "I have a normal sleeping schedule, I go to bed at 10 PM and wake up at 6 AM" - but is that really normal? For them, it might be, but for someone who usually works on night shift, it's completely different.
As someone already said: What the majority is or does is usually what is seen as normal, even though it might not be seen as normal by an individual.

When I think about it, I'd probably describe myself as normal (or maybe "boring" would be a better fit :P) because I rarely stand out anywhere.

People will often say or imply that it's simply a matter of statistical irregularity. But of course by that standard, everyone is abnormal. You probably like at least one show people have not even heard of. Does that make you "abnormal?" You probably have a hobby that not many people care about. Does that make you abnormal? It seems to be largely a value judgment. "You have a statistically unusual feature that I or society mostly thinks is worth pointing out" is what I take people to usually mean.

Thank Satan you did not use the word "normalcy" instead. That thing has been so annoying lately. It is not even a word, just some 20th-century abomination.

Someone who is normal could fit in with the majority and adapt to social norms, unlike me.

I guess it's someone who fits in with everyone else. Whether it's hobbies or what not
