| Genuinely curious to know how could people come up with a rating for recap episodes? Is this based on quality of the episodes they refer to? Is this because of the 15 seconds of original contents? Is this based on how it succeeded in the art of recap episodes? If you give a recap episode a bad score, is it because the anime sucked or just the recap episode? Thoughts? |
| Well I just do it based my original rating scores. special recaps can be either good or bad depending on how it’s made and how it flows. I don’t think any recap is gonna get higher than a 7 though. |

| I usually only like recap episodes if I don't remember what happened previously. I would say studio Bones has the best recap episodes because they have a recap but they do it in a way that is fresh and not just the same scenes showed again. For example Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and My Hero Academia to name a couple. I usually rate them at least a minimum of 1 lower than the original e.g. if I gave the show a 9 then the highest the recap episode could be is an 8 and it could be lower if it wasn't very good. |

| it depends on the content if it's just some random filler that looks cool, I'll deduct one or two points from the main series and obtain the final rating for it if it's a lengthy recap (30 minutes - 1 hour), I'll give it a decent score if it did its job as a standalone, maybe one point less than the main series if it's your usual 25 minutes recap episode for a series that I rated it low, I won't even add it in my list if it has new material that explains the show better but it would still be 25 minutes, I'll add it and score it one or two points lower than the main show only one time I saw a special that was better than the main series, Saekano Flat pool episode 0, all the girls were in bikini and there was no drama, everyone was having fun and Kato was looking damn hot, excellent shots at their bodies, truly a great special. I rated it higher than the series. |

| Pretty much every single recap special that I like content wise will probably get a 5/10 but if I hate the series (like promised neverland s2) I'll probably give the recap special a 1-2/10. The very large majority of the recaps on my list are rated as 5/10's though. |

| It's pretty redundant to even rate them to begin with, that's why when i did use to rate the anime i watched, i just left it unrated or wouldn't even bother to add them to my list. |

| i actually tend to not rate them at all, because the essence of recap episodes is pretty simple at its core. they only really exist to recap on previous episodes, so i don't feel a need to rate them as i'm already rating the show. one exception was tpnl S2 recap which i rated a 1 for the fun of it. |

| Assuming the episodes it is recapping are standard TV length episodes or longer, any recap less than 60 minutes that are on a separate entry aren't rated. I watch them still. If there are multiple recaps then the total duration of episodes within that entry must be 60 minutes or less to still not rate. If recap is an hour or more (I associate alternative version movies of the same/similar scenes a recap), then i rate as if I wasn't watching a recap. If the recap episodes occur within the TV series entry, then the first recap by default gets the average score I've been giving the episodes prior +/- whatever factors that occur during the recap (i.e. if they did it in a creative way, then it's a +). Any consecutive recaps or recaps that aren't consecutive but appear multiple times within a cour, the subsequent recap episode score is halved based on the existing average I have for the show. 3rd violation or more results in a 0 to 1 score on that episode thus gravely affecting the average |

| usually rate them pretty low if I'm binge the anime since it's pretty fresh in my head lol... but if it's week to week then I won't be as harsh... also really depending honestly.... if it's like some new stuff in there then sure I won't give it a terrible score but most of the time I just skip them. |
| Depends on the pacing of the recap + my initial rating of the series. Like, if the pacing was somehow worse, then I'd minus 1 or 2 points to my rating for the recap. |
 I wasted all my time in rewatching to the point of my rewatch total is higher than my overall anime total lmao |
| I watch the recap years later, I'm currently doing that with code Geass movies. I like recap movies. so usually they can get a solid 6 out of 10 from me, nothing higher though. As a casual viewer, I don't rewatch every series I like. Recaps are perfect for my little memory. If they can cut content with me noticing it, they did a bad job. I've rarely seen added content... or my memory just sucks ass. |

| I rate the recap based on how well it recaps, but the thing is, most recaps, instead of actually recapping, just show clips from previous episodes stitched together to vaguely resemble what the original plot had going. It's annoying, because if I wanted to jog my memory, would there be any difference between watching the recap and watching the episodes it recaps at 2x speed? |
| I go with 6 or 7 if I like the series otherwise I don't include it in my list. :) |
